Well ... i don't know - you can try, but you must split the pipe on a ban saw or on a tablesaw. The bamboo is easier to work with and may be is cheaper-i've bought a 3,5 metre long piece for 6 euros and made 3 bows from it.
@sikke3 I've made new limbs from a pickaxe handle split in half. You can try it - works well (i have a video). I think the hazel will be ok, but can't say about the pvc - never tried it.
I'm afraid i can't make a "how to" video, because i don't have the materials for a new one. It's simple - i've used a piece of birch wood for the riser, shaping it first with an axe and then with a rasp, a file and sandpaper. The limbs are made by a bamboo - just split it in half with a knife. They are attached to the riser with 2 pairs of bolts for this you'll need a drill.

i've did it but it was not ssstrong enough but i'm thinking about making a new one with more layers of thick pvc and one with hazel limbs
