    not sure if I know what you mean, but at that time we felt like the Apricot project made a bit deferent flavor of Blender engine then the Blender game engine was, so I have decided mention them this way.

    Without them we won't move further.

    (uploader) go ahead and download the source of the game. The game is free, all the source is free. If you know blender a bit, you'll find out your self... it's a shader stuff

  • @MrSolbrillan to open the game engin in blender press P (KEY)

    to get out of it press ESC (KEY) but ur gonna need to put logic on the things

    so you can do what ever you want them to do to it. Logic its the PAC MAN botten by panels. You can just look up the rest ur self :)

    you probly don't have your character or whatever on Dynamic its in the Logic just look for static and click on it and find Dynamic and just mess with the setting to what ever you want to.

  • the problem is you need to increse the speed of the swimming i know 3d and tht is reely reely hard but that i sumthing to work on

  • the people models need a little work, and what is the point to the game? to get points? Or just have fun?

    Also very nice swimming motions, look mokaped. :)

  • most of the textures have radiosity baked plus most of them are re-paited by hand, because that makes the visual part even more impressive. I'm not saying the stuff is that much impressive :) but the aim was to make it more unrealistic. the time was short and so it changes all our will. If anyone would like to change anything to their desires fell free to do so :D

  • Physics are excellent, animations too,, if you make textures better or if you are using Texture face try bake, ... and your game for sure will kick asses ...

  • I think it could be interesting, All you have to do is come up with playable rules. what is more important in this case is the AI you'll make. Many people think of game as a one person game but forget to think of opponents.

  • I used to play water polo and i would like to play a waterpolo video game but i dont know how fun it would be to players. I was thinking of eggbeating with a controller. It might be cool if it was implemented like Fight Night or Skate.

  • you need to make the water a little bit transparent. I like the physics, but the swim animation is a little bit slow.

    Still it's a very original concept, I like it

  • The water is just a shader, what is more interesting is the pseudo physics. But if you look at the new Blender version, there are much more interesting things (realtime softbodies etc.)

  • oh yhea Blender softbodies are a great addition.

  • maybe turn his head up every once in awhile to breath.... when he is swimming straight forward his head is submerged the entire time. Other than that, and the slow animation, I think it is outstanding!

    The floating movement is done by negative graviti (more or less), plus the value is changed by the water plane face position.

    The screen under the water is much darker because it has fog. I read the actual polygon status of the water plane comparte it with the camera position and then switch on fog and vice versa.

  • how did u make the water so u could be in it and how when u dive the screen gets that blue tint. also how the guy floats. I've been trying to work a little with water and if u could tell me it'd be much appreciiated. nic job! :)

  • I think making a game like this is a good demo to show what you can do with limited resources and a low budget :) keep up the good work! (The actions and models are well done as well as the water emitters.)

  • the water is a high poly mesh. Our programmer wrote script(library) that generates waves in to it on the given locations defined by empty objects with emitter script.

    You can download the source file in look how it's done. All is on game homesite.
