Windows Phone is just Windows Mobile which is why it boots so fast.. Try comparing what you can do with the devices and you know why it is capable of starting fast.
Furthermore what can one use boot performance for?
Windows Phone isn't windows mobile. They're completely different. And you can do a lot of things on windows phone that you can't do on iOS or Android. Same can be said from any OS. They all have unique capabilities, but do not call windows phone windows mobile. It was built from the ground up due to windows mobile's marketshare dwindling. It's completely different. This boot performance that you call useless can be seen throughout the entire OS. Everything is fast and fluid.
@MarcXW Dude stop already.. "Windows Phone 7 is based on the Windows Embedded CE kernel – the next generation of the Windows Embedded CE platform will be Windows Embedded Compact 7 when released, and the current version is Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3"
Fact is that CE 6.0 is what Win Mobile is based on.
Stop saying otherwise..
And there is absolutely nothing that WP7 can do that Android can't, while Android does so much more than any mobile device with any Microsoft OS be it old or new.
@chiesarahah im sure windows is gunnaa b lot better than ipone 2012 windows phone isnt that old and its already catching up to iphone i mean the iphone has the same things as other smartphones people just get it cuz they think apple is the best
What's the use of this ? 25% people are using Android/ Windows and other OS's. So what if Blackberry takes forever to boot up still 35% people having it and 40% are iphone users because they are awesome. Taking a boot test doesn't mean iphone sucks. Iphone a monster !! @MrMurder96 Why would a proper OS be doing that? Please I never ever reboot my Android it's even a hacked ol' Win Mobile called HTC Titan with no more than 128 mb of ram.
But I guess Windows needs the casual reboot on both mobile and desktop/laptop platforms.
@MrMurder96 My mistake. It's not called HTC Titan, while that is the somewhat new WP7, but instead HTC Tytn. I guess HTC isn't good at coming up with new names for all those phones of theirs..
I have to say, my HTC Aria reaches the lock screen really fast as well, but it's basically unusable for a few minutes after that until everything finishes loading
@chaplu1234 It wouldn't be fair to use the Samsung Galaxy S II in the comparison because it runs on a 1.2 GHz processor. The Nexus S, iPhone 4, and HTC HD2 runs on a 1 GHz processor only.
i have had a few celphones with differant systems and i found windows the most solid! i really can't see myself giving it up! and i go through alot of cellphones! lol
