On the album Wish you were here this is Part two, but alot of versions of this song have been split up into other parts. So Part 1 from wish you were here is Parts 1-5, and Part 2 is 6-9, this video is half(part1) of 6-9. The way ive written this is realy confusing sorry.
ive tried so hard to get this bootleg of all the songs so they connect but i cant.. if any one can help or send me it mp3 threw email message me thank you!!
In 1977, the guy who made this recording gave me the original reel-to-reel master tape to run it through my studio equipment for equalization and noise reduction. I still have that master tape.
I have audience tapes of many, many PF shows from the 1970s and I never heard them play See Emily Play or Arnold Layne at any of them. Not saying it isn't possible, but I'd like to know where they played it.
i have to disagree, i think Roger's voice is nothing compared to Gilmour's. I mean, I know it sounds like the obvious thing to say, but roger's voice just doesnt have the same haunting and stirring effect as davids.
Roger may hav edone his best, I agree, but he got to be an Ass later on... He thought He was Better than the group! And thats not true! None of them Alone is BETTER than the group! Not even Gilmour. The group, with teamwork, always did better. I Love em All, and hate they Ever Broke up! =(
Part of the reason why Waters left was that he felt like he was doing it by himself. To an extent, it is true because Wright had stopped creating and Gilmour had tapered off. Of course, part of it is Waters controlling the group but part of it was the other guys not creating a whole hell of a lot.
If it was just about Waters trying to be the group, he would've kicked the whole group out and kept it for himself.
Wish you were here is the best pink floyd album from every era from the band with Waters best vocals of his career and some great bass lines,Gilmours best solos and Rick Wrights best keyboards
@pinkfloydrule27 I don't really think so. I think their brightest era was from the album "the piper at the gates off dawn" till "the wall", but that is just my opinion. You should state that its just your opinion as well. By the way: celestial voices, echoes and careful with that axe, eugene had amazing bass lines, great vocals and good solos(of guitar and keyboards)
Is there two bass playing(like in the album) or just Roger?

Is there any way I could get this album on a mac? ARES doesn't work and I don't think torrents will work either.

Gilmour has an amazing voice but I think Water's is underrated sometimes. His voice is great in this song and all of Animals

at the end of the 1975/LA show i just downloaded, where they usually play 'See emily play' at the end of this song, they played 'arnold layne' too
its sounds so cool

they dont play the songs, just a few notes
but at the end of parts 6-9
when its rick wright with the really quite synth
you can hear him play a few notes of 'see emily play'
i know for a fact on the album version, the last notes that are played sound like the "soon after dark, emily cries"
and they play a few notes of layne in the live version i heard too
its really hard to explain if you dont have any idea what im talking about :p
