  • Nothing lights up the night like a 237 kerosene.....

  • I especially like those nickel plated founts; my collection is lacking one. Thank you for sharing these beauties with us.

  • I have the 237 with the crome bottom and green top. It's kerosene, and I love it!

    I got it from a neighbor, he didn't want it. It's a 1967

  • I have a 220j thats been sitting in my garage for about ten years the generator still works and it holds air. What should i do to it to clean it up and get it to work like new again.

  • Just clean it up with a damp rag, Rinse the tank with some fuel and add a few drops of oil to the pump and try it. As longs as there is no rust in the tank or dirty fuel inside to gum it up it should work.

    Good luck!

Feel free to ask if you have trouble

  • That 247 is a really nice little lantern, there is just something about the kerosene lanterns. I have a couple of 237's, but that little one really puts out as much light as I would ever probably need. Hard to find them.

  • My other 247 on the 252 fount is realy bright too. Very good lanterns pity they stopped making them in 70

  • you ever heard of the coleman gold bond

  • Yes but I have never seen one.

They were not made in Canada or sold here.

  • I just acquired a Model 236 "The Major" today made in May,52. 500CP. I really enjoyed your vid. I don't have any kero lamps but I'm always looking. Some of my best and earliest memories are of nights in the hunting camp with my dad. Always lit by the "Sunshine of the Night". Thanks for posting.

  • The Major is a nice lantern too.

Replace the Triangle gas tip with a "R" from a G6 or G6 (635) gen and swap out the packin from from the 635 gen as well and you will find the lantern is a bit leaner, brighter and flickers less ( if you have these problems that is )

  • Neat demo.

  • This type of Kerosene presure lantern is not well understood these days.

Pity because these two were absolutely wonderful lanterns that out perform any other in their class AND are able to burn just about any liquid fuel from gasoline to diesel

  • the thing i love most about the kerosene lanterns is that you can burn them indoors. try that with a gasoline lantern and see what happens

  • Please posts them and I would like to see them for sure.

I collect things to use I guess. These all show age and wear, as they should...

  • nice lamps are you a collecter? i also have a few videos im going to post of a coleman 220j a coleman 226 and a petromax 829 rapid and a hipolito
