  • @EnKoreMakeup Hey Koren, I am just starting my mac brush collection and am keen to maintain the logos! I am just wundering how often you need to use your method on your brushes and the maintenance! Thanks 😃 ps luv yhuur videos

  • omg i just love ur vids im learning so much :) thank you! ^_^

  • Can u use dish soap?

  • did he use his homemade brush cleanser to 'sanitize it further and condition" ?

  • he doing this slowly for us to watch, so i think when he normally cleans the brushes, it probably faster and not waste much water. And i know how much water we wasted just to clean brushes, but i dun wanna put the dirt+oil+shampoo from the brush that hasnt wash properly on my face!

  • he doing this slowly for us to watch, so i think when he normally cleans the brushes, it probably faster and not waste much water.

  • Holy shit. I just realised there's a guy who works at my local M.A.C counter who looks exactly like you! I'm so confused. Maybe it actually is you? Haha.

  • back and forth back and forth

  • Every day I see women living in the slums behind my school carry giant pails of water to & from their homes. They walk miles to buy clean water at double the price regular people pay for their water bill, with money they do not have. It saddens me to see you waste so much water, Koren when 80% of the world is dying from water borne diseases due to lack of access to clean drinking water. The rest of the world would not have to suffer so much if the first world wasn't so wasteful with resources.

  • for the conditioning part, after washing you spray then and then what?? Do you just let it sit or do you have to rinse again and then dry?

  • @LorettaJay just spray, don't rinse again

  • LOVING the tarzan music <3

  • I Like The Little Intro Very Creative!!

  • @noaqueenbiran.... Ignorant and unnecessary if u don't like it don't watch.. @ Enkore.. Continue to make wonderful videos I have learned so much from you.. Sexual orientation is none of my business and I don't care.. You are very good at what you do.. Thanx for taking the time out of your schedule to share your knowledge with us..

  • GAY

  • @noaqueenbiran ur gay for watching this ^.^ ha dumbass

  • do u wear makeup

  • This was really helpful! I love your videos!(-:

  • it's lots of effort.. o.o

  • aaaw.. the "theme song" sounds like the one in Tarzan ^^

  • I miss this intro!!!

  • @wickedbatman ikr!!

  • is it extra virgin olive oil???x

  • Hello:) i want to ask you.. does any kind of olive oil would work with lipstick?

  • HAVE YOU HAD DIFFICULTY WITH BRISTLES COMING OUT ON YOU SKIN OR WHILE CLEANING?

  • Can I use vegtable oil?

  • @cordevv u can only use olive oil

  • What did you use to sanitize the brushes once they were deep cleaned?

  • @corporal4 A makeup brush cleanser...

  • @corporal4 hi, I use diluted surgical spirits in a spray bottle in proportion 50:50 . Hope this helps ;)

  • One BIG thing to note first... disinfect the sink or DO NOT let anything touch it. Because of stuff washed in the sink, raw meat juices, etc., the kitchen sink usually has the highest bacteria count of ANYthing else in the house! (YES, worse than the average toilet!) Don't believe me? Google it. AND, if you use sponges, frequently run them through your dishwasher with the dishes.

  • haha lol *brushes screen with blush brush XD*

  • Love your accent

    You're SOOOOOOOOOOO cool

  • Omg you're amazing!

  • Great video!!!

  • are u gay??? no afence but are u

  • @AllThatShimmer25 - Spell check is a useful tool.

  • Is that kabuki brush from mac?

  • I have the eco tools brushes so maybe they're different but I never had problems washing my brushes with my gel facial cleanser... and I just swivel the brush in the palm of my hand until I see no more color and air dry face up and its good as new, I learned this when I had an acrylic painting class where I constantly and gently had to wash my painting brushes so they would dry up (I dont have a lip brush but if I did I would totally use the olive oil technique)

still your vids are love xD

  • @AShelf really? I just got a ton of eco tools brushes, and had no idea how to clean them. I'll try that :D

  • i l0ve y0ur videos!

i juss discover you this morning nd i juss been watchin as many 0f yur videos as i can .

    y0u have a wonderful personality

  • love your videos, please don't stop making them, much love.

  • awe-inspiring pointers! thanks for sharing, anyone tried Rimmels new line of products? its difficult to get decent makeup in Madrid but i managed to obtain brilliant cosmetics samples by using "Gratis-Makeup-Samples", their cool!

  • STOP THE WATER WHILE YOU CLEAN THE BRUSH!!

  • What kind of Kabuki brush is that? ...thanks.

  • so your brushes turn out just as soft as it was? cuz i'm afraid that it'll get stiff after it dries. i use the bare mineral shampoo for my mac brushes and after they dry they're just as soft. stupid me used vive shampoo once and my brushe got all stiff and nasty feeling.

  • how many hours til the brushes dry if you deep clean it?

  • Aren't you supposed to dry the brushes the other way?

  • SO GOOD AND NICE INTROO!!!

  • Hey koren I love your videos!!!!! I was wondering though. Would you be able to clean brushes that have a refillable compartment for bronzed, blush, and etc... the same way as in this video? I have the bare minerals refillable buffing brush and i was wondering how I could clean it without affecting the product.

  • hmm what if you don't have a bacterial/conditioning spray that you used at the end? can I just incorporate anti bacterial along with shampoo or soap?

  • this just goes to show you dont have to be a certain age or gender to enjoy make-up, fantastic video weldone!

  • y do you have makeup brushes?

  • @wiloch96 he is a famous makeup artist.

  • I love your videos! I can't believe how brilliant you are!~

  • hi!!! do you have any suggestion on how i can preserved the number and logo of my mac brushes?? i know im picky like that... and also i what can i do with those already faded?? please please please please... i need your help koren.. thanks

  • @talk2eunice water should never touch the handle or ferule when you wash your brushes

  • @talk2eunice use clear nailpolish one coat

  • whats in the brush holder? is it salt? i use shells but they dont really work well.

  • @TheSweetyKins i think he uses "colorfill"

  • @i use rice, it works really well ;)

  • @TheSweetyKins they're little sillica pebbles.

  • sei un grande!!!!!

  • I use olive oil to clean make-up off my face, but I never made the connection the it would help with waxy brushes. Thanks!

  • i love all ur videos, and intros.

  • why didn't you use olive oil on the kabuki ?

  • i agree an amazing intro and also men wear makeup and its not bad

  • I deep cleaned my brush last night and its been like a whole day and it appears dry but the the center still damp, is it supposed to be like that?

  • love this

  • y does he hav makeup brushes.......

  • I LOVE Encore... he IS the reason I clean my pencil eye liner with alcohol... (letting it dry for a few hours before use of course).

  • Hi EnKore~~~~ should I clean the brush with water after I clean it with the oliver oil? thanks!!

  • i also didnt understand that... after cleaning with oil go on cleaning with water or quit that step? thanks!

  • Enkore, i just want to thank you for all your tips, ideas, and knowledge that you are showing all of us here on youtube. i learned so many things from you and saved so much money. thank you so much and i appreciate your talent and dedication in helping your viewers. Keep continuing to do what your good at. Have a great day.

  • do you HAVE to use baby shampoo?

  • u dont have to use baby shampoo but its just not as harsh on the bristles. hope that answers ur question :)

  • @makeupjunkie25 oh okay thanks ^_^ it did help.

  • at first you should clean yor water tap. just use a bit vinegar and will be a nice jet of water agin.

  • The world's water is finishing!

  • Whats The White Stuff Inside Your Brush Holder?

  • beads.

  • i have the same brush but its not mac !

  • Hahahaa "and it came with a funky odour to it" xD

  • I miss this intro music. :)

  • Same, I wish he would put in the old intro music! It's so fun to hear and you wanna sing along with it x3!!!

  • UR HOT! I got burn...

  • Is It Normal FOr Them To Shed Jst A Bit

  • thanks so much for posting this video..really appreciate it :-)

  • God Bless You! I think it takes ALOT of guts for ANYONE to come on YouTube and expose oneself. You are to be admired.

  • Do you really need to have the cleansing spray after cleaning them or will it just be pretty clean without it?

    Please reply!

  • thanks for the help!!! =)

  • Oh wow! I really needed this! Thanks!

  • thanks so much this was a great help!

  • How do we deep clean a foundation brush? When i deep clean it, the foundation stay on..

  • Wash it a second time, and scrub your fingers gently between the bristles to get the shampoo/conditioner to wipe away the foundation on the inner part of the brush.

  • If it is a long wear or waterproof use the olive oil method. This will break the long wear 'stuff' down before you wash it.

  • Thank you SOOO much. I feel so ashamed, I have never ever washed my brushes, and I have had them for 2 years! I am awful lol.

  • lol

  • thx koren!!!

  • ur wasting soo much wate leaving it on while cleaning the brushes!

  • when u get new brushes shud they be deep cleaned or spot cleaned. kinda dumb question but i dont wanna mess em up.

  • they should be deep cleaned....hope it helps :)

  • thanks. :)

  • @BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX Always deep clean your new brushes. Just incase anythings on them.

  • @BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX doesnt matter either way. personal choice.

  • @BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX I would probably deep clean them. Just to be sure that you get all of the chemicals out of your brushes :)

  • @BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX Deep cleaned

  • @BiNkY2BoNkA3RoX

i guessing but almost positive u should deep clean

  • you should let the water hit past the silver part on the brush unless you want it to get rusty. Otherwise great brush cleaning video(:

  • no you shouldn't let it do that

  • also, he doesn't let it do that

  • acually, yes he does so fuck off and get eyes.

  • shouldent my bad.

  • that is soo smart and inexpensive

  • what song was that in the beginning omg i know it lol i cant think of the name

  • the one in tarzan lol

  • youre awesome. very helpful. I love your videos!! Keep up the good work!! =) xx

  • THANK YOU

  • Koren, I'm always so impressed by your knowledge!! So many helpful tips, and I never knew the diff between squalane and squalene before!

  • don't waste all that water!!!

  • thats such a cute intro!

  • Ever heard of a make-up artist?

  • please dont let the water run when you arent using it . use the short second it takes to turn it off .

    :)

  • Lol, i live in the desert so I hear ya.

  • I use a bar of ivory soap as a deep cleaner. Is that a good idea?

  • =) i will try the olive oil !! can i use it as my quick cleanser?

  • yes i did it too. it works

  • does it have to be baby shampoo ?!

  • you can use regular shampoo

  • it has to be gentle like sampoo or body wash:)

  • HI!! I am very grateful for sharing this technique with us... This is overwhelming!!

One question: I'm kinda paranoic wetting and flooding my brushes like u did with the faucet, should I stop? Is this safe? For how long do u already have you brushes?

    Thanks, Dana.

  • i nevered wash my blush brush..can it make u break out more if u dont wash ur brushes on a reg.

  • yes it can make u break out by time bacteria gets on them. so basicly when bacteria gets on thema nd you use the brushe on your face.. bacteria gets on your face and you break out

  • YES!

Your brushes can hold on to bacteria. If you use them with out cleaning you are just putting all that bacteria back on your skin, and into your make up too. Yuck! Seriously, clean your brushes.

  • do you deep clean your NEW brushes or do you just use the normal and not deep cleaning way?

  • i would deep clean your new brushes bcuz u dont know what is in them and they have been packdged so there is still bacteria in the brush

  • haha i love the intro with the eye shadows and u in the middle...so original :)

  • im new to you channel why do u use makeup brushes?

  • the technique of the brushes are a bit lighter to blend in the colors than using your fingers. it's more even and define compared to using your fingers or even the eyeshadow sponge. that is why brushes are being use. unless you're really good at blending with your fingers the exact way the brushes do then no problem.

  • can i get those jars at walmart?

and can i get those beads at walamrt/

  • love the presentation. love the tutorial. love your kindness, love your sense of humor and love your videos! thanks!

  • dud turnn the water off wen ur ot usin it

  • is extra virgin olive oil okay?

  • my 182 has so many fly aways now

    is this supposed to happen?!

  • Don't be so rough on the brushes, a lot of gurus swirl their MAC brushes like they're $2.00, do it like Koren and just swish back and forth !!

I suggest investing in the brushguards Koren has mentioned before to reshape your brushes when they're dry.

  • Your ending is so funny

  • you are so unselfish in sharing your ideas..you are the best!

  • ami doing something wrong if my brushes looks dishevelled?

  • Kool.

  • so i guess it is okay for the metal part to get wet =] this is so helpful, thnk u so much... how long does it take for the brushes to dry?? if i only use m y brushes twice or once a week, do i have to wash and deep clean them twice a month?

  • what about vegetable oil?

  • lol that intro never gets old(:

  • MAC MUAs told me that we could use Marseilles Soap (the "real" one is made of 70% olive oil) to clean up the brushes instead of baby shampoo. What do you think about this? Is it okay for the brushes or will the Marseilles soap ruin them?

    Thanks!

  • Is there anything you cant do

  • Then don't watch him.

  • great vid! my sister doesn't ever clean her brushes! CHERYL, IF YOU KEEP GIVING ME YOUR OLD BRUSHES WITH YOUR ACNE BACTERIA ON THEM, I WILL MOVE AWAY!

  • i use johnsons BABY OILK is tht ok? or is olive oil better? i also have almond oil at home...what do u suggest? thanks! ;]

  • I used to use baby oil and now I use olive oil, I find that olive oil helps get out more of the makeup from the brushes and leaves the brush feeling softer :) Baby oil just made my brushes softer but olive oil gives it more of a deeper clean :)

  • what happens to the brushes if you use a circular motion rather than a back and forth motion when washing?:)

  • so from what i've heard (i'm not sure of the validity of this argument but it makes sense) essentially when you use a back and forth motion it only agitates some of the bristles whereas if you do a circular motion, it agitates more if not all the bristles. hope that's helpful =]

  • yeah it does thanks!!:)

  • Can you deep clean with synthetic brush this way too? or only natural hairs!!

  • yes you can wash your synthetic ones the same way. I've done it before and it works the same.

  • Do we also rinse out the brush cleanser at the end? Or do u leave it in?

  • just leave it in :)

  • thanks! i love how everyone replies to eachother's questions! :D its great!

  • You should really rinse it out so that there are less chemicals coming in contact with your skin...

Also, if you are using a liquid make up, then leaving the cleanser on the brush will (in some instances) make the make up not stick as well, because brush cleanser is designed to remove make up. :)

  • does it have to be olive oil or can it be any oil?

  • olive oil :)

  • can someone tell me if I can wash my synthetic brushes the same way? because they aren't very good quality... they work you know... :)

    please someone help :D

  • yes u can clean your synthetic brushes the same way :)

  • nice video thnx for the tips now i know how to clean my brushes.....man its just tooooooooo much work.......lazy to do it but no choice if u wanna have a beautiful skin have to do it

  • Thanks for the tip, I will try to remember to use Olive Oil to clean my brushes

  • at 9:00 , where do you get that brush holder with those beads??? michaels did you say?

  • This is very helpful thanks so much. What do i do when my brushes get frizzie from washing them? i use the sephora brush shampoo

  • Hi, it may sound dumb, but can I ask what's wrong with cold water?
