What store did Walmart purchase in Mexico to enter their market? I know they normally don't venture into new territory without making at least ONE acquisition from a locally-based strong business.

@Cargo1273 Some company with millions! and what kind of people in Mexico have millions of $? Drug Cartels! Looks like drug dealers are leaning towards legitmate business and wise investments. Target store has also made a play in other parts of Mexico. I was at Target the other speaking with a manager in training who said he is training here in the U.S. to become a General Manager at a Target in Mexico. In the next 10 years I promise you Mexico's economy will be well above the United States.

@Cargo1273 Wal-Mart did a 50/50 joint venture with Cifra (a leading retail store at the time). By '97 Walmart had purchased enough shares of Cifra to have a controlling interest....and you know how the rest goes.
