  • nice land down under music

  • I come from a land down under

Where women glow, and men plunder

Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?

You better run, you better take cover

  • well that woman at 0:08 looked 87 years old to

  • I've flown with Qantas A380 Business Class, it was awesome! The seats were soo comrfortable, the food tasty and the FA's were cute :)

  • premium economy looks huge

  • Loving the new version to "I come from a land down under" by

    Men At Work

  • Do qantas use the A380 for the Singapore-London leg? Cause i'm flying from Adelaide to London in business class soon. Either on Singapore Airlines or Qantas.

  • only from sydney

  • yes they do on some of the Singapore-Heathrow flights, QFA31/32 on most days i think.

  • yes QF does operate A380 flights from SIN-LHR.

  • @symons3569 yes i think

  • Ugly behemoth. Give me my beloved and much missed Boeing 707 anyday :))

  • British Airways is the best for me

  • July 2009, It's Sydney for me!

  • ahhh i love QANTAS

    most amazing airline out there

  • Flying to Sydney in the summer of 2010 for the first time. Hope to fly the new A380! Can't bloody wait!!!

  • i just rode this qantas a380 to & from sydney-lax

    this plane was amazing.

the side of the walls were straight up & down, making the cabin feel a lot larger.

the flight is almost dead silent too.

    it's amazingly quiet.

the flight is also amazingly smoooth.

    A++++

  • what is that awsome song called?

  • man at work - Down Under

but this is another version,, a much better version:P

  • i agree

but its men, not man ;]

  • oops,, sorry! =)

  • I want that version of that sonw under song thing version! :P =)

  • OMG!!! I soo.. wanna fly on the a380!!

    how kewl would that be!!!

but it only flies internationally !!! i'll be saving up 4 a while

  • Flying to Sydney in May. Hope the 380 does not pack us like sardines. We'll see..

    Cool plane

  • Can't wait to fly on the A380 with the Best airline on the planet!!

  • OMG!

    what a cool plane

luxurious buisiness class, i mean those skybeds looked awesome!!!

  • OMG!!! What a cool plane!

I wanna fly on that plane in buisiness class, looks so wicked and luxurious!!!

Now I really like A-380 planes.

  • yay just finished my training for it...can't wait to work onboard!!!! :D

  • so how is working in a380 and i am jealous

  • Like the flight crew wear their hats on the flight deck!!!

  • Can you please tell me who does this instrumental version of land down under?

  • Is the guy talking on the ad English? Sounds it!

  • No, He's Australian.....I mean..Come on. Qantas is an Australian Airline

  • Yeah, like all the crew operating from London to the far east, all Brits!

  • what about KLM ? hvnt they been around for longer?

  • KLM practically stopped during WW2.

  • actually yes KLM Royal Dutch has been around for longer, don't forget that huge crash the klm and pan am ran into eachother

  • yes thats true but KLM can no longer hold the rights to be the longest flying airline as they have now merged with Air France becoming a different airline to an extent.

  • but i'm always flying KLM and they are celebrating their 90 birthday so official is quantas the oldest but i preffer unofficial

  • <3 (L)

  • this makes u wonner jump onboard an a-380

  • de grande tendre que viajar en la primera clase de qantas de los angeles a sydney o espero que en el futuro su a 380 llegue a la ciudad de mexico.

  • damn man this airline is so gooooooood

  • so excited, never flown before in my life but my sister lives in melbourne and im in the uk and she always flies over to visit us so for once I am gonna fly over their and see her, so nervous as i have never flown before so fingers crossed that qantas make it an enjoyable experience :)

  • vaya aerolinea me gusta la incorporacion de su economica premiun auque en lugar de poner recarga pies mejor hubieran sido descansa piernas pero bueno 10 para la erolinea espero que aeromexico en un futuro planee comprar un airbus a 380

  • I can't wait to fly Qantas... I'm saving money though... hahaha is just i have to take a flight from P.R. to the US and then take a flight to Sydney, so I do have to save jajaja

  • I reckon Qantas to be one of, if not the best airline in the world.

Though, to be honest, they could work on their TV ads a bit. Air New Zealand IMO has the best ones...

  • ok a) the song in the backround is called I Come From A Land Down Under and the singapore airlines a380 is better luxury wise but the qantas a380 suits more of a family but saying that the suite looks quite good

  • Qantas must be one if not the best airline in the world.

  • i know the song is land down under but what is this version of it called?

or is it just an instrumental one?

  • The song is a variation of 'Down Under' by Men at work :)

  • what song is this?

  • Land Down Under by Men at Work

  • It's a rendition of "Land Down Under" by Men at Work. :D

  • Its a Qantas 'remix' you can say on Men at Work Down Under... Find it and you can see the comparison

  • it's an orchestal version of "down under" by men at work

  • Do you come from a land under?

    hahaha Instrumentals

  • WHAT SONG IS IN THE BACKROUND?

  • what is the backing music called?

  • any1 know the song name?

  • Great ad but stop using 'the world's most experienced airline' because everyone knows KLM's the worlds oldest airline still active and that's a fact.

  • But the ad specifically stated, 'QANTAS, has been flying longer CONTINUOUSLY then any other airline'. KLM stopped operations during WWII, and that's common fact.

  • @locky889 Qantas is the only mayor airline that never had a fatal accident.

  • I flew to Los Angeles on the Qantas A380 and was'nt even full, both ways!!!!!

  • good to see these ads on UK tv now :D

  • wow, i just became an A380 person !!!

  • Didn't Pan Am use the same slogan?

  • this aircraft signifies the absolute pinnacle of Qantas. congrats to Qantas and may the A380 bring many more years of success

  • But recently they've had lots of little accidents and emergency landings!( i dunno where you guys are from but theyve been on the news heaps on australia) I would never fly qantas now. they were known as the safest airline in the world before all these recent accidents. Now their good reputation is out the window. and don't think just coz theyre a big corp that they will be safe - look at what happened to Pan Am after people thought those plans were unsafe! :s

  • Qantas still are one of the safest airlines in the world with zero fatalities in their history.

  • i didnt know that, a cool fact, although, it is partly down to luck i would imagane

  • qantas never had a fatal crash in over 88 years of service. Amazing !!!

  • It lost a couple during World War 2 whilst helping our military, but there hasn't been any fatal commercial jet crashes ever. Hooray for the Queensland and Northen Teritory Aerial Services. :)

  • Even when they are in a emergency, they manage to land safely. Shows you how good the pilots are.

  • hey may i ask what is better a380 qantas or a380 singapore airlines???? and why

  • singapore!!you must know that....and why are you asking about that?want to ride?...have a plesant flight...qahqhahahha...

  • In my opinion Singapore's A380 is better. In First, Singapore has private suites with closing doors, larger screens and has a more luxurious feel, while Qantas has smaller screens, no doors and bland colours. In Business, Qantas has simply used its original 'Skybed' concept, only changing colours and making it 'fully flat', where Singapore has made a wider, larger and more 'plush' seat design.

  • true!!!

  • !!!!GO AUSSIES!!!!

Never been so prowed to be an Aussie

  • Qantas should get rid off all their planes and buy 500 A380s!!!! Sydney to Canberra on an a380! lol

  • Brilliant airline with great customer service. I love flying with them

  • i cant wait to go on this plan it'll be awesome, i might even like the economy seats in premium economy it'll be comfier then it used to be!!!! but the sky beds or watevr they are called are sooo uncomfortable i like the old business seats better they were sooooooooo comfy!!!!!!!!!

    bye!,

  • qantas lovers add me =]

  • Love Qantas! Also love the new A380!

  • Pure brilliance... :)

  • yay:) if we go on what airline is the most experienced by their aircraft then emirates wind:P

  • The only problem is that emirates is very uncomfortable in economy (i no from experience) when full and also when compared to any other airline even delta which saying something as you can barley move at all on a Delta plane. and also you can't spell, i think you mean wins not wind.

    bye,

  • Perhaps you'd like to retry, making a remotely coherent comment.

  • Will someone please tell me who is the music played by and is it commercially available?

  • It's clearly a reworking of 'A Land Down Under' by Men at Work. Have a look around for land down under symphonies!

  • the song is Land Down Under- Men At Work (1983?) and this version is not available, the original is, which is more upbeat and less of the flute solo

  • lol I didn't notice that!!!! listening to it again now

  • itsi come from a land down under and i dont think it is

  • Really nice commercial. Love the soundtrack aswell. Very slick. Well done Qantas! Time to put all that bad publicity behind :)

  • so proud to be an Aussie when the A380 landed here in LA

hope i could fly on the A380 when i go back to MELB

  • GO QANTAS !!!!!!!!

  • spikhaza----yep the same plane I flew on at 18yrs of age took the pope back then the piece blew out the side of it,ill say we are worried!!!im with Quantas all the way but seriously they are reminding me of the Pan Ams that were grounded in the middle 80s or early 80's lol

  • yer but qantas is about 20 times bigger

  • Wow! The A380's sooo beautiful!

  • i love to see Qantas to have more A380 Beacuse there will be my srevice for us

Im a packer for the Qantas Airlines as well 6 other airlines we pack stuff for them.

  • does anybody know the name of the song used?

  • sounds like an instrumental version of land down under by men at work

  • ireallycantfinditilookedEVERYWHERE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The song in the commercial is a remade adaptation of the 1980's song: Men at Work: "Land Down Under"

  • its a new version of i come from a land downunder

  • does anybody know the name of the song used?

  • remember, MOST of Qantas' incidents have been very minor.

They had a crash on landing in Bangkok in weather that was near impossible to fly in, a mid air dive due to an exploding oxygen tank and then another mid air dive due to a 'one in a trillion' technical glitch.

all the other inncidents happen everyday; no matter how good your maintanance is. gear doesnt retract, warning lights blink and medical emergencys happen on aircraft all around the world every single day!

  • its a good plane ive never seen nothing like it

  • Concentrate on your maintenance rather than flashy commercials.

  • I love Qantas.

  • Ad subtext: Hi! New planes, we got 'em, oh yeah! Evry' thing's cool! Nothin' wrong here!

  • the reason that many are worried right now is because of qantas's aging 747 fleet. all of there 747's are starting to come to the end of their lifespan, and this brings problems. lets just hope they can get more A380's in before people get hurt.

  • are you kidding? if you think the current fleet of 747's are near the end of their lifespan then look at United's fleet. Qantas plans clock up less flying hours then a lot of overseas counterparts, so less wear and tear on the aircraft. A lotta life left in these yet.....

  • So much for their saftey record!

  • It's great that Qantas has got an A380, they're a fantastic airline! However, this ad isn't really anything special. Surely such a momentous event as getting an A380 would deserve a big and impressive ad? I think Qantas could do a bit better.

  • okkkkkk, hardly any manual control is used on the A380, the stick is mainly for emgencies, it owuld be rare to see a pilot sing it during take-off and landing, and qantas is not the most experienced airliner KLM is, and its not that good of an airline, where do i get the song for this, like the new redone land down under ?

  • KLM merged with Air France so they no longer hold that record for the most experienced, Qantas does mate! There is a reason why they are one of the fewest airlines to actually record profits instead of losses, they are one of the best.

  • What a great Australian Symbol espically for Australian people overseas.

  • excellent...

  • hey good ad but when will it be on tv ?

  • Such a great Australian Airline! It will be great when Qantas get more A380 in their fleet.

  • i think Qantas is the best, moderate prices too for the service

  • yeah but i think the recent issues regarding Qantas' safety has thrown off a lot of people. Personally i don't trust Qantas for a while

  • Oh Poo, If Qantas has THE BEST aircraft in the world {mantince} and Until Qantas or I die I will Fly Them.

But another good airline is Singapore Air.

    Still, GO QANTAS!!!

  • I agree. Until there is less accidents from Qantas, I would be reluctant about flying with them

  • Qantas hasn't had loads of accidents. They had one in July granted but that was nothing to do with maintenance, it was an exploding Oxygen Cyclinder which may have been faulty. The other problems have been technical issues which involved no accidents. All airlines suffer technical problems from time to time. Only for the fact that Qantas nearly lost VH-OJK these issues probably wouldn't have been in the press. I can't see an airline the size of Qantas willing to risk the lives of its passengers.

  • they are getting their planes repaired by one of their main competitors (SIA) thats a recipe for disaster

  • If SIA do not complete the maintenance effectively then it is them that will have blood on their hands. SIA like Qantas is a very experienced and successful airline, they are not going to risk their reputations by suddenly cutting corners. Do you honestly believe this is the case?

Qantas has had a bit of bad luck over the last few months. The fact remains that Qantas has never lost an airliner which is a remarkable testament to their dedication to top quality maintenance.

  • they're alreading reaping the shit for having used SIA, so many techincal problems at the minute because of outsourcing engineering.

  • Eyy wouldn't it be harder to fly with a flight stick instead of a yoke?
