Do qantas use the A380 for the Singapore-London leg? Cause i'm flying from Adelaide to London in business class soon. Either on Singapore Airlines or Qantas.
yes thats true but KLM can no longer hold the rights to be the longest flying airline as they have now merged with Air France becoming a different airline to an extent.
so excited, never flown before in my life but my sister lives in melbourne and im in the uk and she always flies over to visit us so for once I am gonna fly over their and see her, so nervous as i have never flown before so fingers crossed that qantas make it an enjoyable experience :)
vaya aerolinea me gusta la incorporacion de su economica premiun auque en lugar de poner recarga pies mejor hubieran sido descansa piernas pero bueno 10 para la erolinea espero que aeromexico en un futuro planee comprar un airbus a 380
I can't wait to fly Qantas... I'm saving money though... hahaha is just i have to take a flight from P.R. to the US and then take a flight to Sydney, so I do have to save jajaja
ok a) the song in the backround is called I Come From A Land Down Under and the singapore airlines a380 is better luxury wise but the qantas a380 suits more of a family but saying that the suite looks quite good
But the ad specifically stated, 'QANTAS, has been flying longer CONTINUOUSLY then any other airline'. KLM stopped operations during WWII, and that's common fact.
But recently they've had lots of little accidents and emergency landings!( i dunno where you guys are from but theyve been on the news heaps on australia) I would never fly qantas now. they were known as the safest airline in the world before all these recent accidents. Now their good reputation is out the window. and don't think just coz theyre a big corp that they will be safe - look at what happened to Pan Am after people thought those plans were unsafe! :s
It lost a couple during World War 2 whilst helping our military, but there hasn't been any fatal commercial jet crashes ever. Hooray for the Queensland and Northen Teritory Aerial Services. :)
In my opinion Singapore's A380 is better. In First, Singapore has private suites with closing doors, larger screens and has a more luxurious feel, while Qantas has smaller screens, no doors and bland colours. In Business, Qantas has simply used its original 'Skybed' concept, only changing colours and making it 'fully flat', where Singapore has made a wider, larger and more 'plush' seat design.
i cant wait to go on this plan it'll be awesome, i might even like the economy seats in premium economy it'll be comfier then it used to be!!!! but the sky beds or watevr they are called are sooo uncomfortable i like the old business seats better they were sooooooooo comfy!!!!!!!!!
The only problem is that emirates is very uncomfortable in economy (i no from experience) when full and also when compared to any other airline even delta which saying something as you can barley move at all on a Delta plane. and also you can't spell, i think you mean wins not wind.
spikhaza----yep the same plane I flew on at 18yrs of age took the pope back then the piece blew out the side of it,ill say we are worried!!!im with Quantas all the way but seriously they are reminding me of the Pan Ams that were grounded in the middle 80s or early 80's lol
remember, MOST of Qantas' incidents have been very minor.
They had a crash on landing in Bangkok in weather that was near impossible to fly in, a mid air dive due to an exploding oxygen tank and then another mid air dive due to a 'one in a trillion' technical glitch.
all the other inncidents happen everyday; no matter how good your maintanance is. gear doesnt retract, warning lights blink and medical emergencys happen on aircraft all around the world every single day!
the reason that many are worried right now is because of qantas's aging 747 fleet. all of there 747's are starting to come to the end of their lifespan, and this brings problems. lets just hope they can get more A380's in before people get hurt.
are you kidding? if you think the current fleet of 747's are near the end of their lifespan then look at United's fleet. Qantas plans clock up less flying hours then a lot of overseas counterparts, so less wear and tear on the aircraft. A lotta life left in these yet.....
It's great that Qantas has got an A380, they're a fantastic airline! However, this ad isn't really anything special. Surely such a momentous event as getting an A380 would deserve a big and impressive ad? I think Qantas could do a bit better.
okkkkkk, hardly any manual control is used on the A380, the stick is mainly for emgencies, it owuld be rare to see a pilot sing it during take-off and landing, and qantas is not the most experienced airliner KLM is, and its not that good of an airline, where do i get the song for this, like the new redone land down under ?
KLM merged with Air France so they no longer hold that record for the most experienced, Qantas does mate! There is a reason why they are one of the fewest airlines to actually record profits instead of losses, they are one of the best.
Qantas hasn't had loads of accidents. They had one in July granted but that was nothing to do with maintenance, it was an exploding Oxygen Cyclinder which may have been faulty. The other problems have been technical issues which involved no accidents. All airlines suffer technical problems from time to time. Only for the fact that Qantas nearly lost VH-OJK these issues probably wouldn't have been in the press. I can't see an airline the size of Qantas willing to risk the lives of its passengers.
If SIA do not complete the maintenance effectively then it is them that will have blood on their hands. SIA like Qantas is a very experienced and successful airline, they are not going to risk their reputations by suddenly cutting corners. Do you honestly believe this is the case?
Qantas has had a bit of bad luck over the last few months. The fact remains that Qantas has never lost an airliner which is a remarkable testament to their dedication to top quality maintenance.
this makes me wanna fly Qantas and go down under to Australia.
