BTW It's probably a good idea to leave the camera on while parking for short times. That's when people back in to your car while your doing the shopping and never leave a note. I've had 3 occasions when people have hit my car and not left a note.
really 3 times? geez and I never thought of that, I have had one car scrape my drivers side door leaving a park before christmas, which I had to buff out myself.
The blue car at the Mitcham shopping centre at the 'Bond" premiere - you know who you are! thanks for not leaving a note! :) (ok, rant over)
no - aptrev, as I state in my channel description, my intention isn't to be punitive, but merely an observer.
I also notice that YT seems to have got rid of the 'high quality' option and seemingly changed the codec a bit - thus why registration plates are readable - they weren't readable before. Wish youtube would cease trying to fix something that isn't broken. It wasn't my intention to make the rego # readable, however we as citizens don't have access to that database - so does it matter?
And you took 6 photos of the bird ? Are you using a camera phone ? If using a real camera I find the photos turn out best without flash at that distance with lots of zoom and a very steady hand (leaning against car or sitting on the ground with arms leaned against knees etc.
And I got parked in the other day also (about 3 inches from my car (of course on yellow line). I had to wait for the truck in front to come back and move.
yes I took a few photos of the bird and the one I posted was the best one! So it was a really poor effort - I shouldn't have bothered really, but the best photo does look better in the raw than the youtubey product.
I had a digital compact camera in my handbag and to use it on night mode or fully manual, you are right, I needed a tripod. I find even if if I brace it on something, it still moves as I depress the shutter manually. I did once carry a medium format camera in my boot for the 'quality' of it all, and even my 35mm SLR isn't viable today. Too many missed chances trying to measure distance & light. So these days, I 'm resigned to a bad photo against 'no' photo - if you know what I mean.
yes, youtube have changed something now (I've not changed the way I record or upload) - high quality did appear sometimes a few days after an upload - but I'm not sure if it's gone for good now from now on...
as a post edit: the unid (to me) bird could be a 'cape barren goose'. The bird stood almost a metre tall and had more than a metre wingspan... no real informed idea though
are you serious? you couldnt get out that gap?? are you a woman? and stalking and old bird? what am i missing here?,.

I'd help you identify but probably wouldn't be much good unless I saw it myself. the video and photos don't really capture it all that well :\
