  • Please look on my second video "diskos rzut dyskiem diskuswurf ancient antike technik" from 14.07.20011. There i show in polish language a second variation of the ancient technique, the disk is swung forward to backward into the deep bending "discobolus" position like some sculptures and pictures on amphores/pots are shown. The second variation of the "ancient" technique looks very congruent with the most "discobolus" sculptures, the first is easier to handle. Greetings R.P.Thomalla

  • greetings to Prof. W.Decker, for years i had a seminar- by him in "ancient greek sports",when i was at the DSHS, i think i get the solution how the ancient greek discus throw looks like; It´s a kombination of a 360 degrees=one turn with a jump forward, the discus follows more vertically in comparison with the modern 1,5 turn technique, it feels fantastic and it´s quite better than the modern 1,5 turn.

Look on my video" diskos diskuswurf rzut dyskiem antike ancient 5kg" thanks, R.P.Thomalla

  • Why didn't they use a discus thrower? seems a bit stupid to me.
