there is a little switch looking thing on the top of the hand gaurd, when you got it apart turn it to 11 o'clock position and pull it out.(it's the piece that is over the bootom hand gaurd)it should have wood on it.

That's called the GAS TUBE. That is where the end of the piston from the bolt carrier sits and where the some gas comes from the barrel to help cycle the action.

There is a lever below the sights, move it until the upper hand guard comes off, then the rifle is fully disassembled. You need to get in there and clean the piston tube and gas block. If you want a real AK-47 get a full auto fire control group they sell them online at Florida gun works.
