Yeah, but also that an American life is so much more valued than an Iraqi life in this country...or any other non-American life for that matter. There is no sense of humanity or empathy.
Everyone talks about American soldiers dying and how that's such a horrible sacrifice but rarely do Americans refer to the Iraqi death count which obviously shrinks the former in comparison.
If American soldiers were really dying FOR Iraqis, Iraqis would want them there.
@RevolutionBohemia - don't be a tool. Americans do focus on the American deaths. I was in the UK last year, guess whose dead they focussed on? Their own. This is not unique, so don't sound so astounded. There are legitimate reports of Iraqi death estimates, far more accurate than the silly indee new reports (surprised?), people are aware.
It is important you not aggravate me any more with childish uninformed comments - thanks, now do run along
from the first moment I saw Reed College, I fell in LOVE with it. I REALLY want to go there when I graduate. I'm still just a sophomore, though. =] so if any of you guys know much about it, could you share with me please ?
When I was at Reed I had similar plans - to collect plastic toy soldiers and put them on the white house lawn. One for every life that was on the line. I couldn't decide if I wanted to colour code them.
The war came to be much more quickly than I could arrange the piece.
I'm very proud of Reed...it's amazing to see that someone I've probably never met is thinking in the same way I was 5 years ago.....
God loves reed college

typical of Reedies,
someone missed the point that the US Soldiers are dieing FOR the Iraqi civilians, and it is NOT the US soldiers who killed all of the 112K Iraqis.
Reed grad, P33782 here.
I remember being told NOT to be proud that I did not rape someone today, but I should be ashamed that I did not stop a rape.

No, the point is that US Soldiers are dying for power and oil.
ummaginati0n 3 years ago
simple as that?
or can you go into how power and oil are bad things to die for?
is anything worth dieing for?

Your spelling error suggests that you aren't a Reedie.
