  • Yep! All I could remember was the dude riding in the back of the truck. It's been bugging me for weeks! I was a mere babe when this show was on!

  • Dan Schneider- Ricky in Better Off Dead.

  • haha my husband was just talking about this show the other day! I think he saw every episode back in the day lol

  • HA HA! I remember this show. A CLASSIC!

  • Thats insane that Dan Schneider, the fat kid from that show, is unbelievably rich now from making all the Nickelodeon shows like Drake & Josh, Icarly, Victorious, Zoey 101 etc

  • Watched this back in 2001, when they aired reruns on tv, along with other great 80's classics.

Now, I have The Big Bang Theory and 2 and 1/2 Men. UGH!!

As much as I hate the internet, I still appreciate that it can bring me classic television, so I don't have to watch the crap that is on today.

Hell, if it weren't for the internet, I would have killed myself by now.

  • this show sucked

  • i always remember him hitching a ride that cheapskate lol

  • Epic fail cartwheel at 24 seconds. Wtf this show sucked. How come that fat ass dennis got to hang out in the back of the class with theonly computer. Mike Tyson should have kicked his ass as well. I wouldn't mind seeing venus flytrap catch. Beatdown too or is he johnny fever WHO GIVES A FUCK. FFFUUUUUCK

  • I remeber this show

  • There needs to be a retro cable channel with strictly 70s and 80s shows, cartoons, movies, and music videos. TVLand used to be a good channel until they started adding the 90s and 2000 shows and the unfunny new sitcoms like Hot In Cleveland.

  • @ClassicTVful There's a few- TV Land and The Hub

  • Watched it every morning before school as a kid, neat! Wasn't there a Drexler's Class or something too?

  • Did not matter who was teaching the class, both were great

  • When I was kid in the 80's my mom loved watching this show

  • Remember watching the show, don't remember any particular episode

  • i love how the whole class students are of every different stereotype.

  • sometimes i wish i was born at the wrong time, i just wish i was born during the 70's or 80's i hate this fucking time period where you can do everything on your fucking crackberry, back then everything was fun, now today its just born and simple and not the jettsons kind of way

  • @joey5605 I was born in 77 I was so lucky tv now is crap I hate reality tv

  • With the exception of "Big Bang Theory", I don't watch any new sitcoms. I am so much into shows like Head of the Class and things like that.

    Long live the '80's!!!

  • Oh great decade where you could hitchhike to work or school on the back of vehicles without being maimed or shot, where did you go?!?

  • I loved this show!

  • I used to watch this religiously.

  • Another 80s classic

  • My name is Dan Schneider, and I oppose this show. Stupid Fat Dan Schneider.

  • @dannyjerome0

Judging from the posts that I read, it seems as if ninety-nine percent of the people who come to You Tube do not like what TV today has to offer!

  • @Smartboy8877 That's because back then we actually had sitcoms and dramas on TV. Now it's filled with crap reality television that dumb people are glued to.

  • @mark92577

I see where you are coming from. In my opinion, even "Friends" and "Will and Grace" were better than the junk that is on now!

  • This was the shit!!!

  • oh man... travelled back in time. growing up sucks

  • This music reminds me a lot of the music when you beat Super Mario Bros. 2.

  • Man during the time this show was on so was, The cosby show, perfect strangers, alf, growing pains, who's the boss, family ties, punky brewster, Mr. Belvedere, and I can go on... Shows that after 20+ years people still remember and love. I couldnt name one stinkin sitcom from the 90's besides seinfeld that were worth remembering. The 80's have become this generations 50's.

  • @Wdominguez2011

Although I completely understand were you are coming from, there are two comments that I would like to make. Of the shows that you mentioned, one that I especially liked from the same generation is "Gimme a Break!". I thought that the character of Julie Kinisky was hot! Also, although I liked Seinfeld, there is one from the nineties that I liked ever more. That one is "Mad About You". Helen Hunt forever!

  • @Wdominguez2011 Absolutely!

  • I hated the principal on the show. He got on my nerves. What a F'in windbag. I guess that makes him a good actor.

  • -sigh- the days of great sitcoms. Brings a tear to my eye how so long ago that was.

  • they paid howard hessman in pot.

  • This was a good show untl Howard Hesseman left.

  • Now, Hell's Kitchen is full of gay waiters.

  • I still look at him as Johnny Fever on this show.

  • Man,we 80's children had it good!

Great movies , music and tv. Today most of the shit than runs the gamut of what I just said is bullshit!

Jersey Shore? REELY? Are you insane!!

  • @flirtwd - Yeah, everything is about special effects and pussy nowadays. There are no more good ideas on television or movie screen anymore. I feel horrible for today's kids who think todays shit is the best. CGI. Psh.

  • Thanks they must have changed the time schedule.

  • This was on 7TWO, They took it off.

  • @kriz716

    It's on still.

    4.30pm weekdays.

  • Head of the Class was classic!! Head of the class now only means getting a blow job during studies :/

  • This is on 5 days a week in Australia on 7TWO :D

  • Shout out to all. Thank you! I agree. So many shows these days are about reality. And aren't we just getting a bigger dose of what already is with this rubbish? At least there used to be shows that depicted people caring for another, not trying to "Survive" or "Fire" or outdo each other. It just does not care to glue society, but break the bonds. Enough with the stinkin' reality crap already....stop putting society under a microscope...sh*t!

  • Is this show on DVD?

If not...we should push this show to be on DVD and TV again by Facebook!

  • I don't watch tv anymore cause I am always on YouTube watching great sitcoms from the 80's or early 90's. I cannot name one favorite show I like now. Everything is so called reality shows and everything else STINKS.

  • @santacruz474

If I had a nickle for every post that I have read on You Tube by somebody who hates reality shows, I would have been able to buy a mansion on the hill by now! Oh baby!

  • WELL SAID benito.

Those sitcoms had heart, humor, wit, family. Now, it's all empty. Stupid scripts. Devoid of any heritage or heart. Perhaps that's why most of the new shows go away quickly.

  • Didn't this show have, like, 734 cast members? But it was still a great show and another sitcom that time has forgotten.

  • I miss great shows like this one:(

  • This is the show that made me want to become a teacher ~

  • i miss tv

  • Man , I just forgot how many great shows I grew up with?

  • robin givins ka mrs. tyson

  • BRING BACK THE 80's

  • Wow, the BBC used to show this in the 80s. I loved it.

  • I like him much batter as Johnny Fever.

  • @jemjean I was just thinking "If Dr. Johnny Fever was my teacher, maybe I woul've payed more attetion in high school."

  • @JasonL77 Maybe, but then the problem would be....would he? Highly doubtfull.

  • i was 11 when this show first aired...i love all of these shows from the 80's...wish they were all on dvd...best decade ever!!!

  • i was 11 when this show first aired...i love all of these shows from the 80's...proud to say that i grew up with these shows...wish they were all on dvd now...i will always love the 1980's...best decade ever!!!!

  • Miss this show; any chance it will be on dvd. I liked it- but ws too young (6 or 7) to actually appreciate it.

  • @lol21432 i know right there should be one, and maybe a 90s channel as well (:

  • There should be an 80s channel full of 80s commercials and shows! I feel like there is a channel but I'm not sure

  • @lol21432 Good idea! i would watch it.

  • HEAD OF THE CLASS!!!! LOL LOVE IT>...80s COME BACK!!!!

  • I miss this show, this definitely needs to be in syndication

  • @justindavidvazquez agreed!! bring all the 80s sitcom in syndication

  • I loved this show as I was in TAG myself when it aired. We all watched it like the geeks we were and still are.

  • super!

  • Oh my word the memories that this brings back. I'd totally forgotten about this program until I stumbled across it here,.

  • back when new york was still cool

  • Kimberly Russell who played Sarah on this show was in the movie Precious.

  • Did they ever say fuck or shit or asshole or cunt or cocksucker on this show?

  • Keifer Sutherland of 24 once auditioned for a role on this show.

  • I miss the 80's tv shows

  • I used to watch this when I was in middle school. Great memories.

  • Is this show anything like The Sopranos?

  • @jmoon219 Lol!

  • Oh, I LOVED this show when I was a kid!

  • if this kids were so smart, how come they're in their 20's or 30's??

  • If I was an ABC executive in the mid-80s, I would've kept Life with Lucy (even if it was bad) and definitely axed Head of the Class. I have a real distaste for this show and am surprised it even lasted for five seasons. I remember when the former show was cancelled and thought "How dare ABC cancel Lucy!"

  • i loved this show in the 80's

  • This was such a great show. I liked both the Howard Hesseman and Billy Connolly eras. I remember wishing that I had beautiful red hair, like the girl who played Simone.

  • Who just jumps on the back of a plant truck for a ride? If someone did that today, he'd get his butt handed to him. lol

  • @geisler78 not my plant truck at least he left a newspaper :) hopefully WSJ or NY Times

  • R.I.P. Decent Sitcoms.

    !970 - 1990

    You are missed.

  • You should watch The Inbetweeners,Parks and Recs or Community. Those shows are bloody brilliant

  • @CzarNucleon999 at least the ones created in that time period stayed on into the early or late 90's

  • @CzarNucleon999 I know all they have on now is people we don't even know or care to know as celebs eating bugs for cash or doing something stupid like that for some cash prize. only show I ever liked in that catagory is AG otherwise I can walk out my front door for reality

  • @CzarNucleon999

I agree with you there, with the exceptions of Home Improvement, Everybody Hates Chris and My Name Is Earl.

  • @CzarNucleon999 Correction 1970-1999.

  • This show made me want to be a teacher

  • This was one great show. Two things about the intro though. One, that little kid doing a cartwheel on the sidewalk with the hose looked like he might've broken his ankle doing that little stunt.Ouch! Two, those two guys playing basketball were playing without oh I don't know, A BASKET ?!???!? WTF?!? I always wondered about that.

  • Robin Givens was so hot in this show!!

  • And so dumb in real life!

  • This show was like the reverse Welcome Back Kotter, where in 'Kotter you have a class full of morons and in 'Class you have a class full of geniuses.

  • Dr. Johnny Fever is a college teacher?

  • high school

  • And after he left the show Billy Connely did one season I think.

  • yeah one season, then they tried spinning Connelly's character off"Billy",that lasted one season.

  • man i miss the way tv was when i was a kid. i mean i love a lot of shows that are on today but is was so different back when shows like this were on. they were simple. easy to follow and very enjoyable. this theme brings me right back to that time.

  • I love the 1980's sitcoms. Some of my favourites include: Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, Gimmie a Break, Who's the Boss, Danger Bay, The Golden Girls, Small Wonder, Mr. Belvedere, Head of the Class, and My Two Dads. Many of these show are on DVD but some others are not. Please release Head of the Class. I truly miss this show.

  • robin was funky but i preferred the redhead.

  • yes, definitely the redhead. (Simone).

  • Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss?, Saved by the Bell, and Full House... now on DVDs!!! But Head of the Class... not on DVD yet. (Australian PAL4)

  • i got weird science tv on dvd

  • hahahah I too just turned 30 like a day ago. Would be nice if theyaired some re runs... my uncle is Billy Schilling who played the principle Dr Samuels... used to chill on the set in Burbank Cali when I was in 3rd-4th grade.... sitting next to Iron Mike Tyson.... good times

  • This was the greatest Theme Song for Comedy Serial... i love it!!!

  • Its amazing that Tv,Radio and the movies have all rapidly degraded from the mid 90's to 2009....the 2000's have sucked primoridal ball sack.

  • @Killer0fTheSun Think of how the generation before ours felt about shows like this compared to the overly naive shows of the 50's like Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows best. In 20 more years sitcoms will be goth kids shooting heroin to a laugh track.

  • @Killer0fTheSun - I know you said this a year ago, but I completely agree so much, that I have to tell you.

  • Loved this show back in the 80s. So many good shows from then:

    - The Facts of Life

    - Gimme A Break

    - Mr. Belvedere

    - Just the Ten of Us

    Shows today suck balls.

  • Robin Givens came out ahead of the class after she took Mike Tyson to school.

    The school of LOVE, baby!!!

  • I miss shows like these. I really miss the 80's because a lot of good shows were showned back then. Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Who's The Boss?, Saved By The Bell, Full House & Head of the Class. Now, there's really nothing on TV these days. It's sad!

  • Howard Who? Oooh Howard Hessmen Funnny Guy, Kimberly Russell Is Super Cool As Well.

  • I miss shows in the late eighties and nineties. I feel so old, I will be 30 soon. Shows were good.

  • I know what you mean. Just hit 30 and I am not relating to most of the shows now of days.

  • this was an awesome show,,,I think you can still fit it in todays time,,kids are all different out side but in side they are the same, just want to be accepted and some one to help guide them. i really miss this show

  • Head of the Class started to suck when Mr. Moore left and they put Billy Connolly on there.

  • After watching this vid I realized that life in NYC back in the 80's must have been great.

  • Thanks allot for posting this...Good old memories of my childhood

Lots of things have changed (negatively) since the 80s.

    Thanks again

  • Hands up. Who hated when Hessman left and Billy Connolly became the teacher? He's a great comedian but fuck that Mr. Moore was the better teacher!

  • My hand is up!

  • I used to love this show when I was kid.

  • they just don't make shows like this anymore. They still had a quality of innocence about them in the 80's. That's very rare nowadays.

  • @benito73 what's the matter? you don't like how every show has to try really hard to compete to have the most 'dysfunctional' family that could possibly be thought up nowadays?

  • @benito73 I agree. Everything was so much simpler. Nothing was raunchy or taken out of context.

  • @benito73 up foresure people are all assholes today.80s was the last of a great time

  • @benito73

Is it possible that you guys are just over rating this show due to nostalgia? Reality TV does suck, but this was hardly the most groundbreaking show...plus the kids are some lame stereotype. Ok...a glasses nerd, indian kid, black girl, fat guy, waspey prick, etc.

  • @hipstermi: Way to tell these silly people, hipstermi!

  • @benito73 it doesnt exist anymore

  • @benito73 they had to have an innocence about them, the 80s was anything but pure!needed the escapism to get throu the day!

  • @benito73

    Sure is.

  • Oh, I so liked this show when I was young. I was one of those kids. *sigh*

  • Oh god I get depressed cuz I think of how I felt as kid watching this knowing it was bed time soon lol

  • i remember when i was a kid this show would rerun after school and i used to get so upset when the gulf war was going on because coverage would pre-empt HOTC....haha, what a rotten little kid i was!

  • Howard Hessman was the only reason to watch the show, just like WKRP!

  • Nah, I watch it to see Mike Tyson's ex-wife..

  • I stopped watching head of the class after

    howard hessman left the show

  • me 2

  • Me also,Billy Connelly is funny, but the show was better with Howard.

  • I hated how they kept shortening the theme to the point where they just used the first :13 (or so then segueing into a musical interlude

  • It's a shame they don't make shows like this one anymore.

  • my dad absoultely loved this show lol i used to watch with him when i was like 9 or 10

  • I used to watch this when I was 4 and not have a clue what was going on. It's amazing I still remember the main character's face after 20 years. I sort of recall the theme music. But oh my, what a corny show. I couldn't watch this show as an adult.

  • Loved this show. Even season 5 with Billy Connolly.

  • I always wondered why Howard Hesseman didn't remain the teacher for the entire run of the show, I know that he made frequent guest spots, I couldn't stand Billy Connolly.

  • @ adamdicy Hessman asked for too much money and got booted

  • and then the show started to suck so they should ha ve paid me what i fucken wanted

  • i think the intro is cut

  • who would have thought Dan Schneider would go on to be a major tv producer of kids programs, such as ICarly

He'll always be Dennis Blunden to me

  • Drake & Josh, the sketch variety shows All That and The Amanda Show and not to mention the screenplay for the 2002movie Big Fat Liar that featured Amanda Bynes and Frankie Muniz, and your right the list of his accomplishments goes on and on.

  • this was just a smart version of the Sweathogs

  • Spot on, note the Welcome Back Kotter set to go along with it.

  • Wadda ya mean "just"?

  • I can't believe I'm commenting on a fuckin Head of the Class page. I totally forgot about this show until I had a dream of it the other night. Who the fuck dreams of Head of the Class? Anyway I'm glad this is posted, brings back memories I totally forgot about had it not of been for my weird ass sub conscious.

  • You remembered it because it was A cool show, nothing weird about that dream at all.

  • I LOVED THIS

  • CLASSIC!

  • YES!!!!! I was only like 6 or 7 when this was out but I LOVED it!!! Thanks for posting this:)

  • i wonder if those kids knew their teacher was an ex druggie D.J before? j/k lol!

  • i wonder if those kids knew he was going to go on to getting lost in the desert with crispin glover on a quest to bury a dead cat.

  • This was a great show!

    A++++++++

Have a great week! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • FUCK YOU! This show was the shit and is about as campy as your mother is a hermaphrodite. Answer that carefully. Love you.

  • AHA! That's where are you wrong my friend! You are so pathetic that you cannot see the wonderful, glorious, unbelievable joy and beauty this single show brought to thousands of nations! You are sadly mistaken. I feel sorry for your pathetic self.

  • thousands of nations?..this was hardly the flagship series for the 1980's. I would say Cheers,Cosby,Seinfeld..all kicked it in the teeth. This show barely ran 5 seasons and never went higher then #20 in the Nielsen ratings...but if you want to elevate it to the same level as mans first walk on the moon then you go right ahead.

  • How dare you spew such blasphemy! If this show were able to don boxing gloves and squared off against Whose the Boss in the ol' ring, HOTC would deliver a knock out punch ten seconds into the first round. Cheers and Cosby were totally different sitcoms and the fat smart kid on this should would EAT Bill Cosby and his Jello pudding pops. Nielsen can take a dump. I have heard ol Steve Hawkins has this theme song playing on loop in his room.

  • well..I will definitely agree with you on the Who's the Boss thing,if not for Alyssa Milano I never would have watched that piece of garbage.
