  • I can't really judge vista. I haven't used it that much. But I just found it funny how my grandparents had a windows me computer and then upgraded to a vista one.

  • hi i got a question ; how can i restore my hp mini 1000 to factory settings ( not that i already format it ) pls can you help me to do that if its possible thanks friend

  • windows vista sucks on laptops! But I really like it on desktops as I had never had a problem not 1 bsod or anything.

  • vista rocks stop hating it people

  • @seriousnoob72 Use Windows 7... Vista was an epic fail that I have lived through firsthand.

  • @FutureInventions you were an epic fail... no but seriouly I still have had no problems at all with it after 4 years of usage on 4 different machines. Win7 sucks, it was the real fail, even XP is better.

  • i have vista dual booted on my mac but want to upgrade to win7

  • Is The change between WIndows Vista > Windows 7 better than Windows XP > Windows Vista ? - FOr me not - So - Actually WIndows Vista doesn´t sux . bcuz it was a way much harder work to make VISTA out of XP then to make W7 out of Vista ! Be happy .. what u want XP or VISTA?

  • @aLLsTaRsxXxDeLuX3 XP was and is the best Windows, but not the best OS. Windows in all is just a baby-OS. It is hard to take it seriously.... When I can get an OS totally free and legal that is so much better than "Vista", I think MS has failed. Obviously MS don't care shit about customers, they care about selling their "product" no matter if it works or not. You don't see super computers running Windows, why if it is so fast and stable and well coded? It's a joke....

  • my computer performance got drained by atrojanwin32 virus does anyone know how i might be able to restore it? Nothing to confusing please!

  • How to get Better vista performance on a laptop. Buy Windows 7

  • @Chintendoeddman ...or get Linux for free...

  • @ytvoice1 I am running Xubuntu (XFCE based Ubuntu). And my desktop also runs Linux.

  • I had a horrible experience with xp on my other computer. I actually think vista is much better. The computer running vista has better specs, but the actual operating system just seems to run more smoothly. I am just not a xp person.

As for windows 7, I do not plan to upgrade. Vista is working perfectly for me.

  • @Hailingflames Yes, because Vista is bloated like nothing else, if you take the requirement needs for vista on MS' home page and then quadruple the RAM needed and multiply 8 times the CPU speed needed and 256 times the free HD available space, then you will probably be able to run Vista in 98-modus. That is without any "effects".

I can run Linux Mint on any PC in the world, and it will allways beat Vista in speed. It is just better coded.

  • @ytvoice1 i can play youtube videos here in 1 sec. (not even^^) and imma just having 4 GB DDR2 RAM and just 2,6 GHz of Dual Core. Nothing special . and i can play (idk ..) for example WoW at the highest settings without any lagg and ATTENTION... at 1920x1080pixel ... Or i also can play GTA IV without lagg. at highest settings^^

  • hey i got a splinter cell conviction and when i start it it says the game has

stopped working and it also said cpu performance is bad and mine is vista

If i need xp ca you sent me a virus free download. Also mine is 2.5gb.

    THANKS

  • @dragonthisaru u can upgrade to 7 with win Anytime upgrade (for a lower price i think)

  • @GayanPethiyagoda nope

in the shop there costs the packet for the black W7 (i forgot the name, premium?) for 300,00€ . BUT if u read the upper corner there stands "Transformation Pack For Vista"

so if u are having nothing or XP it will costs much more i think^^

  • @dragonthisaru Vista + 2,5 GB dont fit together. Vista alone needs 2GB of RAM to work nearly smoothly :S but if u buy more RAM it will work for sure

  • @aLLsTaRsxXxDeLuX3

Try this search string on Google:

"London Stock Exchange dumps Windows for Linux"

  • I'M A VISTA LOVER.... I'M USE TO IT

  • i have a 3GB RAM comp with 2 ghz cpu and it lags like a granny

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo

install a registry cleaner or install tune up utilities,.,,or clean ur pc maybe there some dust build up

  • @reyvil09 I have ccleaner, is that registry cleanre?

  • yhep,.,but try tune up utilities,.,just search it here @ youtube u can get it free

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo i have 4gb RAM laptop with 2.00 ghz, it laggs when i play garrys mod :(

  • @sadperkion haha, at least yours isn't in the shop.

mine had to get fixed because the monitor shuts off on itself

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo up grade the computer then. mine is so much more for about £390

  • @ukhewitt my computer is about half the worth that you mentioned.

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo same D:

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo Dual core?Single Core? Quad Core? Triple Core? DDR RAM? DDR2 RAM? DDR3?

There are a lot of different factors that go into the speed of the computer.

  • @Techlur that computer broke down with a bad LCD, it's now in the recycle bin.

  • Windows gives my computer for running vista a 3. =.=

  • OMG... Sounds to me like he purchased/downloaded something he already has. With windows vista, you can already go into your "power options settings", and change how your laptop preforms when plugged in or unplugged. I find Vista is like windex to my xp.

  • GO mac or 7

  • install windows me xD

  • GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

  • I find disableing or re-configuring indexing is a must. I choose to change indexing from my entire computer to just my user folder. If indexing is applied for the whole HDD Vista constantly access the disk, uses a large portion of the processor and RAM. I also choose instead of going to a screensaver to just go straight to turning of the display

  • use advanced vista optimizer!!!! works wonders XD

  • lol .. wiht xp our computers harddrive is almost full so actually vista is our faster computer now,

  • my sister has about 70processes running in the background the lappy freezes but im jst wondering how it even loads up :p 1gb ram sure does alot of work, imaging how fast the laptop would be if the processes were reduced! whatso ever i love vista ♥

  • VISTA IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • say 2 things

  • huh?

  • "vista is the best!!!" Well, say 2 good things of Vista

  • 1. more hackable by the user

    2. smaller than XP (I think)

    3. i can't think there's so many!!! :D

so... as i said... VISTA IS DA BEST!!!!!!

  • Smaller than XP?! lol

If you run XP on a computer with 1gb ram works good... if you run Vista with 1gb of ram... you cant even move without freezing the computer :P

  • Dude maybe that guy is using the mini vista.

That Vista "version" is as small as XP and is a lot safer. Not to mention the speed.

  • no! I have a Notebook with 1 GB ram and it runs very fine!-.-

  • xp is far more better than vista, i dont know what is the use of 64bit

  • the 32 bit os only recognize 3gb max, well as 64 bit os recognize 3gb+ of ram.

  • Comment removed

  • i dont like vista you cant programe anything on it :L

  • how? its the fucking same as xp! just with eyecandy

  • no its not, u cant do alot of stuff u can do on xp. its harder to portforword and other stuff

  • really? i can do most of the stuff i could in xp. doesn't play half life source very well and thats it

  • also it laggs abit more and tbh i just wish i didnt spend 600 quid on this laptop :L i shudda brought a xp computer

  • this may sound VERY stupid, but get a basketball air-pump (the kind you pump by hand) and blow air into the vents until dust n stuff stops coming out.... my laptop used to always be at 206*F at IDLE.... now while im using it at 158*F

  • i tried it and it didn't work what ?

  • i dnt understand what you are saying... send me a msg

  • vista is great if it comes with your computer/laptop and it sucks if it didnt come with the computer/laptop

  • I already have this power saving option on my sony vaio. i can adjust my power plans, which i have 3, NO1: BALANCED, NO 2 :VAIO'S ULTIMATE BATTERY, N03 HIGH PERFORMANCE to suit my needs. on one of the plans i am able to slow the CENTRINO PROCESSOR'S DOWN, but what happens then the files or video's are not as quick to upload.

  • i got vista home basic on my laptop and it works great...i don't know how the other guys have this kind of problems on their laptops...mine it works great...

  • my computer> right click> advanced sys settings> advanced tab>press performance> 3 options> pick adjust for best performance> and poof faster. my vista and comp scoring index is 4.9

  • if you want vista to be it's best on a laptop get a good one that was designed for vista

  • my vista home premium is working perfectly. it has good security, performance, and its just cool

  • that video u made called:upgrade windows xp to vista for free.... was FUCKING horriebal

and u made that video worst and people may

want reallly know......what if u thought some made a video u want to really know then u get a

screemer and u reallly hate it and get a fright?

  • leave Vista alone, Vista haters! it might be bad on your pc, but then leave the people who really like it alone, and stop saying it sucks, just because it doesnt really work for you

  • @nelizmastr LOL........ok but you've gotta admit.....windows 7 is everything vista should have been and theres no getting around or defending vista over that...

  • @CoolyHaloGmr29528 have you looked at the date I posted? I run Windows 7 now, and am very happy with it

  • @nelizmastr It doesn't work for anyone... It was released prematurely.

  • @FutureInventions it worked for me. it booted quickly (instant login) (at least for me), and looked great. ok, it used a bit too much memory, but thats not THAT important. average users dont work with 10 programs at once, so you wont hit the memory ceiling at all.

  • @nelizmastr Glad it worked well for you! I had the worst time ever with it! And not just because of it's slowness, but the thousands of bugs. It was incompatible with so much software and so much hardware that even when I was just using 1 program it would glitch up for no reason.

Btw my specs, which 3 years ago were decent: 2ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram, 5200 rpm 320gb hard drive, standard intel graphics. With 7 it runs like a beast.

  • @FutureInventions I'll tell you what: I had older software that wouldnt run in windows 7, but worked fine in Vista.

its the redesigned aero explorer thats causing most issues (corrupting color palettes etc.) on for instance age of empires I and II

  • @nelizmastr You do know that windows 7 has compatibility options so that you can run any program for any service pack of any windows OS right? You just right click on the software, properties, compatibility, and boom.

  • @FutureInventions that doesnt work for the above described issues. its the explorer of windows 7, so basically the WHOLE interface. basic/classic/aero doesnt matter. its the way it is written code-wise.

it corrups the color palettes on games based on DirectDraw instead of Direct3D

  • Vista sucks. Windows 7 is much better.

  • yes now wait for 22 October for win 7 :P

  • Good tips but you should mention all of the tips and not waste the video dwelling on negative (or stupid) comments from others. Otherwise, I really appreciate your help! 1. Install more RAM 2. Get a faster graphics card 3. Change Power Options (Control Panel) to high performance 4. Defrag the hard drive 5. Disable Aero 6. Increase mouse-tracking speed 7. Disable some services 8. Disable some virus checkers I have AVG, Norton & Windows Defender running ... probably not necessary.
  • Why should i disable Aero ?

  • its a memory hog.

  • Go Windows 95!!!! LOL!

  • lol

  • lol mine still works!

  • all toshiba laptops have power save

  • FIX UR CAPS LOCK and learn english!

  • hey i have a inspirion 530 that has 2.40 GHz and 1 gigabyte of ram, i baught it new from dell and it came with windows vista on it. wich operating system out of windows xp and windows vista would run better performance wise on it?

  • If your computer doesn't have the best hardware then vista will run very slow on it. There is nothing wrong with it unless you have bad system specs. If u really think it's hogging system resources, then wait till windows 7 comes out.

  • Lol people dont understand.

IF you are going to use vista then you need to use it on a computer that has it pre-installed. Here you will find a computer with the specs you need for vista and it is by no means slow.

  • yeah thats true

  • very well said pal.

  • amen

  • everyone knows darth vader could beat darth maul in a fair fight

wookies would make the best jedis!!

  • hey your mother called and told me to tell you she 's gonna pick you up later tonight at 8:30 from the star wars convention

  • my vista 32 bit boots and logs on in 33 seconds. I have 3 gb ram, 5400 rpm hard drive, intel core 2 duo 2.0 ghz. i have disabled only a few services(including windows update, and background intelligent transfer service) but things like windows media center services, and windows defender are still enabled. I have a video up of my boot and login, but its not my updated one. still,, check it out.

  • I have vista ultimate but when i first got it it wasn't very good at all but then SP1 came out spread it around please !!

  • Yea i havent had any major problems that you wuld expect to happen btw every seems to be talkin vista it workz good for me n tha vista battery saver made it that much better

    Windows vista business SP1

I have a SATA hard drive (Make sure you don't have IDE or PATA)

Intel Pentium Dual Core T2080@ 1729MHz. Make sure your system processor is not running @ 800MHz

  • Vista Rules..'

i have learned to work with it,

you really need to take the time tweak it

  • dude, your dual screens are beast!

  • agree !!!!!!!!!!!!!....XD

  • LMAO wow the dub is a moron LOL. my laptop has that built in XD!!!!! if i want high preformace i change the opition and the if i want saver i change it. also i can make a custom power manager LOL!!! OWNED

  • I didint know we could change vista to xp!

  • is 5.3 good?

  • decent max 5.9

  • cute vid

  • i got a new pc a year ago with vista, after 2 months i was running to XP, now it's not so bad

  • man, do you actually have any information to offer the world, or are you just full of hot air and a shit talkin mouth? i don't want to hear your internet quarrels, i wanna learn about vista.

  • Vista comes with a factory default power setting that sets the cpu usage to 50%.

  • verry slow buffer and i have high speed internet (vid freezez up every 1-4 sec)

  • AMD athlon 64 x2 dual-core processor * 250GB HDD

    TK-57 (1.9 GHz, 2 x 256 KB L2 cache) *DVD-super , multi DL

up to 751MB NVIDIA GeForce 7000M *802.11b/g WLAN

    turbocache

    3gb DDR2

15.4' WXGA Acer crystalbrite LCD (8ms/220-nit).. that's my computer. :P

  • it is pretty good but you dont got an intel so this makes your whole computer a piece of crap

  • vista rulez, its bad that u can play all games:(

  • vista is my liife! its awesome.... and this thing is built in windows u just have to configure it

  • Vista runs faster with Aero and everything than XP. I have a comparison startup video on my account and Vista on my laptop is faster against a faster computer with a clean installation of XP.

  • vista alrady has that built in, u just gotta changw the settings and powersaver doesnt even work good when web surfing.

  • oh well.. He sure does know his computers. :D good video.

  • 40DUDE40

  • = linux format cd :D

  • I like your videos, but sometimes you talk alot of nothing, just get to the point, keep up the good work.

  • I had vista home basic and my laptop was slow. Than i upgraded to the 30 day trial of home premium and my computer's speed increased a lot. Than after that expired I tried windows vista ultimate. Its slower than premium but not quite as slow as basic. I would have to say if i were to decide between the 3 I would much rather have premium. You can go back to xp but why? Eventually all computers with windows will be vista and xp will be out the door. So basically i suggest home premium i liked it!!

  • I FRICKEN LOVE VISTA

  • wer can we DL the premium dude???..,,,

  • dudes, just do a dual boot with xp & vista...you can play around with vista while still having xp if you get frustrated :p

fyi, the power saver is included in vista

  • actually my windows vista did come with the power management thing when i unplug my power cord its just hidden like all the other things in the control panel, so nobody needs to download random software that does the same thing their windows allready does! just wanted to point that out :]

  • express card - vista "readyboost"

  • Yeah in the US. Its so much easier to use a tablet. all my notes and home work are in one spot. I am NOT the most organized person. half the time I lost my homework or it would get ripped. Not anymore. I can just print it off and hand it in.( we are not completely yet. but sometime soon we upload it to sharepoint(from microsoft)).

  • Just take out some of the programs you won't use. I did and everything runs faster. Has to many programs installed.

  • vista sucks

  • linux ubuntu is way better than this. linux runs fast on a laptop plus everything is free the one thing it doesnt have is shockwave but would you really substitute quality for quantity

  • yes

  • vista has alot of compatiable software

  • Vista is crap.

  • Hey Chris. Its Jimbo2687. you probably don't remember me but about 4 months ago, I asked if you knew anything about the Gateway M-285E tablet laptop. and you said no. lol but anyways 4 months later, I have my tablet with windows Vista along with 200 other computers at my school, (My school went paper free this year) and let me tell you. Windows Vista ROCKS! it is so much easier to use than XP!

  • I use a laptop with Vista Its great except for the battery life and it takes long to load. There's also a driver issue. Other than that, I love Vista.

  • you can speed up the performance of vista.

1 of the best way i think is to go to the divice manger look for the hardrives. it should be in disk drives click properties, policies and adjust them o to the performance setting. this makes acondierable diference to the start up time of vista.

  • Yeah, whatever Chris. Well XP is faster than Vista...huh. Windows ME is faster than XP; 98 is faster than ME; 95 is faster than 98 and windows 3.1 is the fastest of all. So if want speed install windows 3.1 because this guy says that it is all about speed. The truth of the matter is computers are getting faster as operating systems are becoming more complicated. New operating systems are not meant for old computers. Vista looks better and seems a healthier operating system than XP.

  • OS X tends to run faster and smoother with each newer release. They optimise the code a bunch and really do fix things.

  • Video 666...about Vista. It's the sign that the times are coming to an end!

  • This is Chris' video number 666. lol

  • lol the devil

  • I had no problems at all with Vista, but my computer is a vary high end gameing rig. Personally i think Vista is vary nice, but still need's a fair amount of work doing.

  • When i say Vista i mean on this PC, on my laptop.. just don't go there ^^

  • "Prerequisites:

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium and up version, running on notebook computer"

Damn, I only have Vista Home Basic.

  • nice vid
