  • And Cherie Currie!

  • I saw this in 1980 when I was 15. The movie is pretty accurate for that time period. From what I can remember. :)

  • Mmmh what a good movie.

I think every girl should see this, at my age. and I'm fifteen. It teaches some beautiful lessons of life for every girl. It really helped me get through a lot... really.

    What a wonderful movie!

  • i want the soundtrack

  • Where can I buy this movie?

  • LOL! This is so stupid!

  • Wow! I remember this movie! Stuff like that happened to so many people then & is probably still happening today!

It never changes! Only the names, places & dates do!

  • was really looking foward to watching this, but now knowing Annie dies... ugh. depressing

  • omg i just bought this and havent watched it yet now i know annie dies :L

  • This movie is the reason I never hitchhiked.

  • Great Movie

  • fuck i hate how annie dies.....

  • The movie is sooo much better than this lame trailer.

  • I really liked this movie. Can anyone tell me some names of movies that are similar to this?

  • @cellosareawesome Over the Edge.

  • @cellosareawesome The Runaways, The Outsiders. Those are the only two I can think of.

  • Love this movie and i like Foster better in that era. DONNA SUMMER!

  • Everyone's performances were fantastic...I'm 16, and I can really relate to this, teens today still face the same problems. I'm also a huge Jodie Foster fan now, and I have pretty intense respect for Cherie's ability to portray Annie so well. <3

  • from where I can download this movie?

  • Haha...laura dern

  • I just saw this movie for the first time on TCM this past Friday night.

  • This came out when I was 14, in 1980. Great movie, great actresses, and kick ass music. Gotta love the band Angel's hair lengths.

  • I saw this movie in the theater, taped the newspaper ad to my bedroom wall, and drove my Mom up the wall watching it dozens of times on HBO. It was the cool rebellious movie for teens at the time.

  • lol spot the Bella truck!

  • @SaveTheZebra lmao I was like "Hey that's Bella's truck" xD wow it's that old.

  • omg i camed here to see Cherie and I ended up to see Jodie Foster at young age?!?! I loved Jodie Foster in Flightplain

  • Excellent film that was ignored by audiences. See it if you get the chance.

  • This movie represents my life in the late 1970's ...escaping disfunctional parents in a time where there was no where and no one to turn to except the streets. Kids have help now and its about time!! Its amazing how I made it to the 80's and not destroyed or worse like so many of my peers back then!! Good movie!! I think its time they revived the movie "Foxes" with Dekoda Fanning staring !!

  • @Lannetteb1 tht wud be so awesome is they re made this movie,i think i cud make a pretty good annie :p

  • The best thing of this movie at the time of its release was Donna Summer's song "On the Radio". Apart from that, the film went largely ignored by audiences.

  • Cherie Currie should have gone straight from the Runaways to Pornos!

  • Another terrible 80's movie that you were compelled to watch.

  • i just recently watched this movie and loved it. jodie is such a great actress, so was cherie.

  • This is one of my favorite movies of all time, great soundtrack. It was made 1979 and released in Feb 1980.A very underated movie.

  • These were the (mostly fatherless) kids of the "hippies".

  • this movie used to be up on youtube for years. and now...its gone.

  • i love this movie! i wish the soundtrack was available on CD or mp3

  • How funny how Cherie Currie was the lead singer of The Runaways yet in the movie, she plays an actual runaway!

  • @StikWitClassics Ironic!! :D

  • fantastic soundtrack by giorgio moroder!

  • This is what the 80s were like for me and my memories, it doesn't get much more than this movie, the coke can styles, the hair styles, the skateboards with the huge wheels, the Scott Baio hair style etc. People nowadays make the 80s out to be cheesy with lame colours, dancy music etc. but this is what they 80s (early up till 85 or so anyway) were really like: fuzzy, cool rock and roll music on the radio, KISS was IT, drinking, drugs, sex, all that you see here. My fav time period.

  • @Matlike1 This movie took place in the '70s.

  • @faffaflunkie no it's 1980.

  • @Matlike1 No, The movie was MADE (or more accurately released) in 1980.

  • @faffaflunkie yea it was made in 1980 and released then. This is what the early 80s were like.

  • @Matlike1 You are among the "mathematically challenged". How could a movie made in 1980 be about the "early '80s".

  • @faffaflunkie wow, that's funny. hmm let me see, because it was made in the early 80s?? lolol maybe get some glasses and read my first post that basically said this is what the early 80s were like, I wasn't even talking about when it was made, but it was in the early 80s regardless....I assume you were not there. are you this anal about everything or just tiny little details that you cannot let go of...lol

  • @Matlike1 Hey genius, by the 1980's we already had Ronald Reagan and "just say no". The persons and events depicted in the film were from the 1970's.

  • @faffaflunkie lol dude don't need to get insulting and upset. The persons are not real (it's a movie) BUT it is a good representation of how kids and society were like in the late 70s and early 80s. and btw, just say no didn't work out too well... You can argue all day with yourself here, I'm going on to the next movie, lol. Just tryin to have some fun on youtube here, it's not to be taken so seriously. Have a nice day.

  • @Matlike1 Just trying for some historical accuracy. I can just see Nancy Reagan watching this movie with horror.

  • @faffaflunkie dumbass, the late 70s lifestyle lasted well through the early 80s. You are the one mathmatically challenged, 1980 doesnt rep the 70s at all.

  • @Matlike1 I used to not like the eighties because of that disco and cheesy colours things. Now I 've discovered that they were pretty nice...

  • @TheDianaJC well this more the late 70s than the 80s

  • @Matlike1 This was really did capture the time very well. Sad how young people nowadays, have lame people to look to for inspiration for the real truth about life. And this one did. Good movie from start to end. A real slice of American life of early 80's life. I thank God, I was there.

  • @Matlike1 this is how i imagine the eighties when people talk about it. For the 80s themed dance at my school, everyone dressed in the neon leggings and baggy sweatshirts... i wore a leather jacket and went as Joan freaking Jett =)

  • A very underated movie-great movie.I remember this movie when it put on cable back in 1980 and now I have it on DVD.One of my favorites.

  • SAD ENDING!!! :((

  • @LilBpresents1 I don't wan't to spoil the movie but Cherie Currie is killed by some L.A. -------.

  • @faffaflunkie yeaaa. it was sad those fkn crazie ass drunk people. Also when Jodie is thinkin about cherie.

  • @LilBpresents1 I really don't want to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it yet. Her (Cherie Currie's) death at the hands of what could only be described as "L.A. Archtypes" is a shocker. Suffice it to say it is a Jodie Foster movie and if you can find it at a discount (perhaps at "99¢ only" or "Fry's") it is worthwhile.

  • @faffaflunkie so much for not spoiling the movie! give away the fate of a character?

  • @msnewsenior Ok, she was killed by a couple of drunken perverts. Are you happy now? I just saved everyone a trip to "99 Cents Only" for a DVD.

  • I just put this on my netflix queue...I love me some Cherie =)

  • loved this movie! How ironic that Cherie Currie's life almost mimics the one in this movie. Except she lived to tell her story in "The Runaways" movie.

  • one of my favorites!

  • There were scenes shown in the trailer that were not in the movie itself. Looked like deleted scenes...well, at least some of them. I wish there was an extended version of this.

  • This movies has memories for when I was in boarding school. We were not allowed to see r rated movies..MY house-parent too 8 of us to see this movie. He got fired! I love this movie!

  • @heebieandjeebie Why would they fire him, this movie is a cautionary tale ala "Reefer Madness".

  • I love this movie, especially Jodie Foster in it

  • @Magnolia296 I second that. Jodie.
