@degree7 Hear hear. Whether you like it or not it shows he can turn his talents to other styles too. You wouldn't have got away with writing psychedelic rock into the late 70s. Personally I love this song, and most of his songs. There are some I don't like....eg. Tears in heaven but I put it down to him having such a large repetoire that there was always bound to be something I didn't like!
This man created " Sunshine of your love" and "White room", played with Steve Winwood in Blind Faith and then .......This is an example, how deep a musician can fall. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!!
@progmeck1 what r u talking about? sure those soungs are great but how can u not like this too? i bet u dont like layla, cocaine, promises, tears in heaven, forever man, and plenty of his other latest hits do u? tsk tsk. sad
Eric Clapton, though a good player has the most boring songs and is over rated. The Cream shit is good, but this "I shot the sheriff lay down sally shit puts me to sleep.
He was and still is a handsome devil, and Marcy Levy was a cutie too back in 1975!!!!! A Tulsa girl spoiled by all of these great guys back when!!! Hmmmmm!
Great solo, got it in there with just the right grit. That tune was fresh in this version, and it was AWESOME! If I had three thumbs they all would be up.
Driving home just now, nothing could make me drive happier, this song came on the radio. That's just a moment when you own the road.............Changing lanes got sexy. My right turn wowed a trucker.
one of the many favorites Mr. Clapton had shared to everyone all over the world. he is such an artist with class. God bless us for having him to share his music.
Thanks! i have that show too (amongs so many).. But didn't remember it sounded so good! Love claptons tone and play particularly in 78 and 79. Always dreamed of having more 'just one night' albums so thats how i got into collectin bootlegs of all his career. But then i get lost sometimes because this guy plays like 300 days a year since 1974 lol.. thanks alot. keep up the great posts!
If you love music.....any music.....all music. You return to this gem. It's unavoidable. I do. And I just did.

I think Clapton was just taking influence from his good friend JJ Cale. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Besides, name one "dinosaur" 60s artist that was doing anything better by 1978.
