Glorious! Another fine kinetic energy experiment. Assuming a mass of 400kg, a velocity of 16mps and using the formula E=1/2(M x V ^2) I calculate the energy release to be 51,200joules or 37,763 foot pounds!!! In other words the rock was packing nearly as much energy as a four round burst from a .50 caliber machine gun!!! Well done!!!!! I wish it would have hit that tree squarely during its transit to its new location. Have you considered a 5 ton bottle jack?
