Personally I prefer the manga. It is more detailed in the storyline and character development but the anime is good and worth seeing. In fact I downloaded the soundtrack and reread the series while listening to it.

@toxicitzi While I agree the manga is superior in general, I do think the anime excels in certain areas. It really brings things alive. And a few story changes, such as the consensual sex between Caska and Guts, are better.

when I worked in a haunted house on halloween I'd listen to this on my ipod after I got my costume and makeup on and look at myself in the mirror to get in the mood. It fit really good with my torn up leather trench coat, bloody gauze over one eye, blood spattered all over me and a blood drenched 2x4 about 4 feet long that I carried like a sword. Good shit. @RacingPhun Even the most badass of characters have to do some terrible things to guarantee success...at least the he got what was coming to him in the end (the Duke, not Griffith). Sure some of his mannerisms might seem...a little homosexual, but he's still one of the best villains.

I dunno about Griffith, but it was the Duke who had the homosexual tendencies, specfically he had a fetish for young boys. It later turned into an obsession with Griffith. Griffith only slept with him because he had money, to him the Duke was a means to an end.

I stopped reading Berserk a couple years ago, cause I was like..14?...and I thought "Damn, I don't think I should be reading this"

And seeing as how I read it at night, cause that's the only time my parents and siblings weren't looking over my shoulder, I was always kind of afraid to go to sleep.

And the anime did not help one bit. To have a soundtrack that completely enhances the whole thing and makes it all that more creepier, just makes it worst.

But I kinda like it.
