  • The trail from Elizabeth to Ptarmigan Tunnel is no joke... especially when carrying a 50 lb. pack. I climbed 14 peaks at GNP last year and I was never as tired as I was after going back to Many Glacier Hotel from Elizabeth in one long, hot, exhausting day. The views of the Belly River at about the halfway point of the long trail up are well worth the effort though. Truly a magnificent place. If you're ever at Elizabeth Lake, make sure to go the extra few miles back to Helen Lake, also worth it.
