I manged to find the 7inch of Skill recently in a local second hand record shop. It was only about three squid, the fools didn't realise its true worth. Magical.
Thanks for all the great comments on the Bicycles, i also have fantastic memories of those times, mostly living them cause Danny Wigley is my Brother .Thanks again keep listening
Just as I wanted to upload it I looked if someone did already. That was one of my first "punk" records or was it the beginning of independent? It was easy it was cheap go and do it! The first two Singles are so very charming, it breaks my heart.
There's a compilation CD called A Darker Bloom that came out about 5 years ago on Cherry Red. They have also made a new CD since but I don't know if their sound has changed. I saw them playing with the Bay City Rollers (!!) at the Lyceum back in the early eighties.
man, thanks for posting this.....bought this when it came out and here in Oz can't find it anywhere.....it was easy it was cheap, go and do it !!!!!!!!!
don't spose you know if there has been re-issues and what label they are on....otherwise I will be asking my 70 year old mum to trawl through record shops back in ireland !
There have been no reissues because the band won't allow any. I know there is a CD called Messthetics volume 8 that features Smokescreen and Medium Was Tedium. The records do turn up on ebay sporadically selling for in the region of £20 each.
You are a lucky man Raahead. I love Skill and it's not one of theirs that turns up very often. What shop did you get it from?
