This movie is awesome, I have watched it 10 times already. I was heading off to Vietnam when Woodstock was going on, peace and love, bring back the 60's.
Hello, all. This trailer made this film look soooo good, then the movie itself was a terrible disappointment; it kept going off into irrelevant directions. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. Just my 2 cents. Peace, Love, Bread & Justice for ALL.
This movie sucks dick. Watch the actual Woodstock: 3 days of music and peace. Good music, good interviews, no washed out/sugar coated shit. Fuck, it's pretty bad when Woodstocks of all things is made into a commercially remastered piece of shit, but I guess that started in the 90's.
the 60s was my parents' era, I hear many stories about it from my father which prompted me to see this movie when it was released. The picture was very well done, I recommend it highly if you want to feel like you're back in the 60s at Woodstock.
i wish i was at WoodStock. I wish I was in the 60s. I had to be born in the corrupt time and place (today and America). We so need a new hippie movement.

@jmill2828er You were just looking for the hollywood version of Woodstock. This movie was really good. it captured the true essence of Woodstock, and not some over exaggerated hollywood bullshit. The movie isn't about the concert, its about everything else that happened in that time. So in fact, it DID capture a lot of what happened in that time period... just saying.

@mcdo0gal I know, it's just that I visited the Woodstock Musuem on sight of the original Woodstock and all the employees were upset about it because they could have used the money to fund the museum...

Lol I read about woodstock and it sounded wierd lol. I would just have gone for the music..because well,the music was the best thing about th 60's(besides my mom)
@babyloves286 It WAS largely about the music, but that was just the pot the stew boiled in. The 'meat' of it was the government prying into our lives, a horrible war killing our brothers and parents telling us that we were filthy and disgusting. "The Establishment" was the galvanization that we needed for a generation soon to be lost to drugs, hypocrisy and hackneyed slogans.
They were parts about this movie I really liked, and parts I didn't really care for. The music was fantastic. Would've done better if Ang didn't try and push his radical left agenda. I don't think the gay/lesbian subject matter was necessary. Now, I'm all for sticking it to the man, youth, and music, and maybe even drugs, but it felt little too far left for me with the homosexuality. It makes me uncomfortable.

He always attempts to 'pull people in" to the film by creating numerous 'dragging' scenes (sense and sensibility, brokeback mountain, crouching tiger) That was his signature. And... THAT WHAT MAKES ME SO IN LOVE WITH HIM! He's undoubtedly one of greatest filmmaker in centuries.

Ang Lee takes the audience into a personal world that isolates you from the ordinary. He really showed his skills in Brokeback, but in Woodstock, the whole affirmation of it was a little dragged out! but all in all it was a pretty good film. I'm skeptical about a movie that's been explained to me like my IQ is 5. But I'll go see it cause I like history and it is said to be based on a true story of an even which has a heavy cultural impact on everyone.
I fucking hated this movie. It just dragged on and tried to be everything about woodstock at once. I thought Eugene Levy and Demetri Martin would make it funny, and then I found out Ang Lee directed it so I knew I wasted my money at the movies, if anyone is considering seeing this movie DO NOT. The movie is a boring, random multiple shots that are totally unecessary and pisses you off knowing you sat through this fucking shit
This movie is absolutely amazing! As much as I do watch movies online, I strongly recommend anyone who wants to see this movie to buy it. At least at some point. Believe me, it's well worth the investment. Peace, love, and Woodstock.
my favorite part of this trailer were the two nuns holding up the peace sign at the beginning of 2:16 but it happens for only like half a second but that was awesome :)
I wish the producers that made the trailer put the actual Green River recording from Woodstock in it.

They were parts about this movie I really liked, and parts I didn't really care for. The music was fantastic. Would've done better if Ang didn't try and push his radical left agenda. I don't think the gay/lesbian subject matter was necessary. Now, I'm all for sticking it to the man, youth, and music, and maybe even drugs, but it felt little too far left for me with the homosexuality. It makes me uncomfortable.

@Camponesadastrevas Woodstock, TO ME, meant rebellion, youth, love, drugs, and music most of all. I think it would've been more successful, if he'd just presented the most important subjects that took place at Woodstock. Even today, There are people who are enthused with Woodstock aren't liberal enough to accept homosexuality.

@Real1shepherd Well, yes, It's different when homosexuals ask to be treated equal like natural human beings. I think homosexuality is wrong. It goes against tradition and nature. Considering a male and a female CAN reproduce as they please naturally, and homosexuals CAN NOT produce one, well, naturally atleast. If you want to be treated equal by those around you, I suggest you form your own country on a remote island, but DO NOT expect to change every single countries' way of living.

@uncaringgenius not sure if it's worth it reacting to a statement like yours, but you say homosexuality is against tradition and nature? your tradition perhaps, but man has always known homosexuality, even from before christ during the roman period, in Chinese literature during earlier dynasties, there has always been homosexuality. Scientific research has shown us that even chimps know homosexuality, and so do other species... so how exactly is that against nature?

This was literally the WORST movie i have ever seen in a theatre. the characters in the movie r ridiculous and not even like the real people. not to mention the gay parts and the parents of the main character who just were annoying as hell. HORRIBLE MOVIE

He always attempts to 'pull people in" to the film by creating numerous 'dragging' scenes (sense and sensibility, brokeback mountain, crouching tiger) That was his signature. And... THAT WHAT MAKES ME SO IN LOVE WITH HIM! He's undoubtedly one of greatest filmmaker in centuries.

Ang Lee takes the audience into a personal world that isolates you from the ordinary. He really showed his skills in Brokeback, but in Woodstock, the whole affirmation of it was a little dragged out! but all in all it was a pretty good film. Did you watch the movie he did after Woodstock? peace =)

I fucking hated this movie. It just dragged on and tried to be everything about woodstock at once. I thought Eugene Levy and Demetri Martin would make it funny, and then I found out Ang Lee directed it so I knew I wasted my money at the movies, if anyone is considering seeing this movie DO NOT. The movie is a boring, random multiple shots that are totally unecessary and pisses you off knowing you sat through this fucking shit

This movie is absolutely amazing! As much as I do watch movies online, I strongly recommend anyone who wants to see this movie to buy it. At least at some point. Believe me, it's well worth the investment. Peace, love, and Woodstock.
