  • as long as i can i will allways ride a xr 650 r one of the best bikes made 4 enduro and trail riding u just hafta b a big enough boy!

  • i have a 1996 cr500 & a new xr650..the xr650 has tons of low end torque, especially off the line,it pulls like a tractor..but when it comes to topend speed/power the cr500 is the king..ive poped up the cr500 in 5th gear at over 80mph never using my clutch, its pure-raw power,,in stock form i did 105mph,,i did a few upgrades like gears, exhaust, reeds, carb, topend,,i was clocked at 121mph..on the dirt..it was insane, the bike felt like it was floating not even touching the dirt..

  • These guys ride the shit out of this bike! Awesome job!

  • cool i have a 2000 xr honda 650 but i put biger piston

  • OK, if I took a brand-new, 2007 Honda XR 650R (I know it's 2011) and uncorked it and put the HRC kit on it, how much horsepower and torque would it have?

  • I've read somewhere that the XR 650R is a close ratio dirt bike. So does this mean that if I put the engine in a CRF-R frame, it would beat a CRF 450R?

  • braaaaaaaap!

  • Damn those guys can shred on those! Sign me up for a BRP please :)

  • I had an XR100 as a child . . it was fun, i got boners riding it.

  • @sikwitit72491 Dude i still have mine 20 years and 100 pounds later still riding it love it!

  • honda perfromance is not that good compared to alot of the other bikes

  • @Richierich1285 you need to educate yourself. honda XR motors "that they no longer produce" were some of the most reliable motors ever made! Not the most reliable bike motors but the most relialbe motors for bikes but the most reliable ever! I personaly drove and XR80 as a child for hrs to get home to see the oil was to low to hit the dip stick! And it still ran great! I have seen them beat wrose than that and run like new! A first kick start every time. Seen a 72 xr70 start on first kick!

  • @bobwatters they used to be reliable bikes i agree with you on that but now todays hondas are no better then the china bikes that are made.i had an 83 xl250 that i beat the shit outa of it smoked no exaust i ran it nearly 400 miles like that befor it started to knock i sold it then it locked down on the guy i sold it to he push started it an its still running till this day an that was 3 years ago.but hondas are slow compared to the other bikes

  • @Richierich1285 Honda is still way more reliable than that china crap they use way better parts. They might not be the fastest but they are great bikes. Although for street bikes i will stick with my GSXR

  • @bobwatters idk about that i have had better luck with the china made bikes i have gave the china made bikes more hell then any of the name brand one an they would hold up better then the name brand bikes i ran a 110 cc china made 4 wheeler motor so hot it melted the cdi box an other parts on the motor an still ran i had the motor on a go kart frame ran it with out any filters i have yet to blow up a china made bike hondas i blew planty of them up same with many of the name brand bikes

  • @Richierich1285 you do realise all those air cooled chinese bikes are honda motors...

  • @highway2snell that is where you are wrong my friend they are mearly copys of honda they are not honda motor just clones of the hondas that dont put em in the same basket

  • @Richierich1285 i realise that but they are still honda patented, and that kinda goes against your argument since they are inferior quality but still last forever...

  • @highway2snell yeah you got a point their but they are not put together by honda they are also not built with the same quality as a honda dont get me they do last along time most of the time the only problems you have out of em are electrical one but they will not stand up to a honda

  • @bobwatters i agree man, i havnt ownd many dirtbikes, but ive riddn a few. in that aspect, the hondas wer always fast enuf 4 wat i was doin, no complaints. Others said they wernt the fastst, but any i rode, ALWAYS ran like champs, as for ST bikes, ive owned gsxr1000,750s, id say 750 was the best all around ST bike ive ridden. Felt like a 600 but beat 900s all day. The Gix1000 was rediculous. for Quality tho, hondas king, startin wit the old cb750, cant kilem, 900RR is ROCK SOLID! itl live foreva

  • @IRONSEAN7 Yea i have allways been a fan of hondas b,c of the abuse i have seen them take. They say they arnt that fast yet there have been tons of supercross races won on hondas now on street not as much. But still they are great bikes, my cr125 is never gonna get sold that bitch keeps up with 250's! so idk i guess its all personal preferance but i go gixxer on the street and honda on the dirt.;

  • listen to that grumble!

  • Husabergs will not touch the xr650r, and husabergs are now KTM, and no one calls them the king of baja

  • at 1:37 anyone catch a deer or goat??

  • haha im not really into watersports

  • 10 people dont have a BRP...;-)

  • Even XR 125 L is awesome

  • Awesome bike but a bit heavy and underpowered compared to my 2001 CR250

  • these dudes are goin balls out

  • Big Red Pig!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where in Oregon was this filmed?

  • I drive top speeds with dirtbikes all the time dude. Besides racin' there's a fun part too. If im not in 5th or 6th gear im not enjoyin it lol

  • exellent video, some sweet riding :-)

  • these bikes are sooooo fucking powerful ive been on one and scared the shit out of me.lol

  • that things a fucken beast!!

  • no 1 bike fight this machine

  • honda xr 650 4stroke best

    honda cr 500 2stroke best

    :D

  • @Lachtannumber1 xr 650s suck, crf450 is WAY better.

  • @mike62895 cuz there so heavy there suspension sucks balls they dont handle worth shit , there not all the reliable and people say 450s have to much power so a 650 must have WAY to much power

  • @swifferkillsdogs YOU ARE AN IDIOT! Obviously you've never riden anything bigger than a 250, don't watch reviews on the web and assume you know what you're talking about stupid. I've riden almost every kind of dirt bike ever made and most have a place, not everyone want's to run around in circles for 20 min in a gravel pit.

  • @rabidfishes i ride a 450? i have videos up of it and im sponserd.and wut r u talking about? gravel pits were does thatcome in at? and ya i do watch reveiws on youtube but not to learn to give me somethinng to watch. i alredy no wut im talking about. and the xr650 does have a place, the junk yard.

  • @swifferkillsdogs Husaberg 650/570 is WAY better..

  • i do

  • wow

  • No it really wouldnt. A cr250 wouldnt keep up with a crf 450. let alone one of these.

  • 4 strokes are the best .

there is no 2 stroek who would keep up with this....

    HONDA AT IT'S BEST!!

  • aaah a cr 500 can haha

  • cr 500 would brake down

befor getting to 100 miles aha

    xx

  • Zabójcy...

  • Awsome bike, i had the 94 Honda Dominator and that old banger was loads of fun. Sounded great with the twin mufflers repositioned under the tail light like the super bikes.

  • Anyone know how they compare power wise and speed to something like a WR450F?

  • I own the L version. The suspension is inferior to other bikes but otherwise an excellent bike and very reliable.

  • xr650..j'adore cte bestiolle!..

  • good sounds

  • 1:20 crazy shit :D

  • L??? This is a XR650R....big difference from the L.... bought an xr650r 3 years ago, plated it for street in IL, take it up to WI all the time to ride fire roads.... thing is bulletproof, too bad i'm not....

  • get a bear proof suit

  • got a xr650r supermoto set up, pig to start once hot tho, wont start till its had 15 mins cool off.

  • THATS BEEEAST!!!!!!!!

  • I've owned a XR650L since 2003 bought it brand new and its one of my favorite bikes i have ever owned. Oh and by the way i just put ten thousand miles on it yesterday.Never had to do any major work on it yet.

  • Powerful bullet proof motor. You can't beat a honda in reliability but they don't put out the power other less reliable bikes do. Don't get me wrong, its more power than most riders will ever need! :)

  • my favourite bike

  • Anyone know where I can find a front cam tension bar? I've called various places and they've had to back order it through Honda.... every place I've called (both big and small) tells me that there are none in the US...... oh yeah its for a 2000 XR 650R... :(

  • A it's tractor. I like the low rev, high torque feel.

  • Do you guys think Honda will ever bring out a new XR650 or similar versions. I am not talking about the American types... come on Honda whats your story ?

  • I have a 650 but I have bad knees so it's really hard to start, if anyone can help me send me a message and i'll love you forever

  • XR 500 is so far the only bike I've ever ridden, for about 100 yards or so. But the XR is a perfect dual sport bike, it's the Jeep Wrangler of motorcycles.

  • but it dosn't break down and cost as much to fix as a jeep

  • When I checked my comment reply inbox, I couldn't quite remember if I'd said it was the Wrangler or the Ford Bronco of motorcycles, for a while I thought you were taking a jab at my beloved Ford Broncos, that'd be fightin' words : )

I don't know 'bout the breaking down 'cause I've never owned a Jeep or an XR or even a Bronco, makes me sad, except for the Jeep part, I'm not a big fan...Now the Bronco...I want an '82 with the 302 and...did they have the 5 sp. manual at that time?

  • why does honda only put the standard 7/8 bars on there stock bikes, especially on this big girl, one good drop and there goes ur bars.

  • w0ow0w dis bikes is ah monsterrrr!!!!

  • the ONLY GRIPE I have, HONDA has NEVER changed the XR650R since its release in 2001.

Is it tru, that HONDA no longer offers the XR. I guess the 450 CRFX is the replacement, SAD...........

  • Yea i have heard the same thing! its a shame! rly great bike! but the xr600 have never been updated since the 80s!:P thats pure power!:D

  • They still sell the 650L.

  • To correct you it was released in 2000, lol.

  • Somebody help an old guy. Why is it better to have liquid cooling? Isn't it just something else to break?

  • you got cooling when you are standing too, with an aircooled engine you need to ride, but on the offroad, sometimes you dont get that fast forward for a good cooling.... its much better, just trust in the liquid cooled engines^^

  • Makes sense now especially with a large bore engine...thanx

  • If the 650 had rad fans (correct me if I'm wrong) I'd agree, however i think what you have said is arse about face. An aircooled engine will radiate heat better when stationary than a watercooled engine with no rad fans. When moving, the radiator will conduct heat better than the fins of the aircooled engine.

More power equals more heat to dissipate equals the need for radiators. To answer your question cabritorsss, its a trade off power versus reliability. for the record i ride an xr600 :)

  • Something else no one ever seems to mention is that when ANY engine heats up, the potential for damage exists. If a liquid cooled engine overheats you see steaming radiators. If an air cooled engine overheats, people seem to think no damage is being done. Thats not the case. Air cooled engines cant dissipate heat as effectively as liquid cooled engines. So while you think your air cooled engine is more reliable, in reality, you just dont see the damage that the engine has really suffered.

  • What's better on say a trail ride where you aren't going super fast (well cruising steadily until an occasionally tricky part), a liquid cooled with no rad fans (650r) or an air cooled one?

  • If you're not going to be getting a lot of air on the engine, you'd probably want to go with the liquid-cooled XR650R. If you're planning on riding both on road and off, it would make sense to get the XR650L. Unfortunately, Honda discontinued the R, so you're stuck with the L no matter what. (The L is still a fantastic motorcycle.)

  • Well I plan on getting a used one soon. I raised that question because my riding style can change fast. Go from riding fire roads to tricky trail riding and I am just wondering if slower trail riding could be harmful on it. If it is, I can just use my Serow for that. I don't plan on riding on the road a whole lot, I got my Serow for commuting. I love my brother's L though. :)

  • I just got my L a few days ago. I've got a little over 250 miles on it now, and it's incredible. I ride street only, but I love dual purpose bikes because the roads where I live are absolute junk. Today I rode some twisty stuff with patches of mud and water from a recent rain, and the bike just flew threw it. I never even use 5th gear because 4th easily goes up to 70 mph. My expectations are far exceeded. Oh, you have a Serow? That's funny because I traded an XT225 for the XR650L! :-)

  • Yes the L is an amazing bike! My brother let me borrow it last fall (put about 1k miles on it). It gets to your desired speed instantly. It's kinda scary. :) I will never trade in my Serow though. Some of the stuff I've been in would be quite scary on a big bike. BTW did you take the emission restricter deal off your L and uncork it? Really unleashes the beast. :)

  • I can see why you wouldn't get rid of the XT. It was a very reliable bike for me, and it never burned oil. Heck, when I would check the valves they would never need adjusting, and I beat the crap out of that thing. The XT is a great off road motorcycle, but it just wasn't fast enough on road for me to ride safely. No, I haven't messed with the XR's emissions stuff. I hear it really flies if that stuff is off, though. :-D

  • that's a beast of a bike

  • honda rocks

  • Those are dinosaurs compared to the 650, they may make more brute power but there is a reason Honda and Kawasaki cut them. At the end of the day the guy on the XR will want to ride again the next day, the guy on a 500 will probably want an hour-long massage after all that vibration.

  • HOnda XR 650 the best bike ever!!!!

  • honda xr650r = beast/animal

  • yes love the honda big bore 650 cc the best thinking of one

  • Lets get this out of the way a 250CC unmodified isnt going to take on a 650 thats just being ridicules I rode my XR650 and had some of the smaller lighter bikes outcorner me Hey its 324Lbs and thats a lot of weight to toss about then we hit the straightaway Bye Bye

  • how fast does it go?

  • this bike got freaking power :O

  • you freaking know it! ive been saving up for a year, im getting it next WEEK!!!!

  • yamaha wr ftw!!!

  • uuummmmmm no! you suck

  • thaqt bike looks so awsome!!!!!

  • I just bought the XR 650 and I love it.

  • nunca ninguen ouviu falar em CRF450R?

  • and heavy as fick

  • is ur name connor preston?

  • i'm dreaming of buying the Supermotard version of this. a heavy, fat, lazy mule.. ON SPEED.

  • this xr.s looks very old with that exhaust ..uuuuh! i love my crf450 r

  • awsome but i still love kawasaki!

  • true, but the honda is a much stiffer frame

  • In which way? TTR is less powerfull, weights more. I love my 250cc XR.

  • @khddaassa XR's are bags of shit. Be a man... Get a KX

  • tt600 is pretty ancient technology wise against the 650R, which was a very modern and current bike even against the crf's

  • dude my xr80 even kicks ass

  • jaja buenisimo yo quice hacer lo mismo y estuve 1 mes en cama

  • very good rider....nice control

  • i love my XR also...........

it will climb anything, just hang on

  • the crf will never be able to replace the classic ledgendary XR

  • @lunchbox722591

thats right unless u like to replace valves every 20 hours, oil every 10 hours and the list goes on on the CRF's, applies to all 4 stroke after 2005 bikes shame shame not like the old school

xr250R - Xr650R range are a legend of a bike reliable maintainable and good on the wallet

  • yea, the suspention looks plush

my dad had one he weighs about 215

and that shit bottomed out almost when he sat on it

    "not literally"

but when he first sat on it the suspention went way down then raised back up

    u know how shox work

ill prolly envest in a xr650r in the future when my kxf450 is no good anymore

one question, is the 650r to heavy for the track?

  • WAY too heavy for the track, you'd probably snap the frame in half doing that, are you crazy!? The XR650R was designed for 1 thing, BAJA. :D

  • They sure do look nice when they are brand new, maybe Honda will soon have the CRF 650 on the market but a 450 is all i recon i need.

  • I love my XR650 bike cos it shifts my fat arse with ease

    way to go

    cool vid too

  • what´s better the xr or crf??

  • I like the xr as the service intervals are further apart and will ride black top longer howerver im told the crf has slightly better dirt handling but is not made for long black top rides

  • depends ALL on what yer doing

  • @uncitarra KTM...640, 530, 690...

  • @uncitarra crf

  • @uncitarra keyword in this video "DOMINATES" nothing is better then the xr in 4 stroke class for open terrain (not motorcross )

  • @uncitarra they r the same but crf because they r newer
