This is so right on point! My brother had a tough battle in court with his ex wife over ever dollar she could get and every thing else. The only tragedies in the case were the 3 kids she said she was doing it all for. They are friends now but still trying to repair the damage done to the kids all those years ago. But the kids are better off with how things are now. Too bad she couldn't have realized it all back then.

I have the same problem with my husbands ex-wife and it tears everyone apart. I have tried to accept the way that she is - but all I can do now is ignore and avoid. The pain in the children's faces and the horrible things that they have to go through just kill me. I feel powerless and suffocated. So, I just go on and do the best that I can for my children and I deal with my ex's in a nice and supportive way. I have accepted that I can not change other people.

Very well said ... I have had to end friendships where the women(friend) badmouth their ex to their children on a continuing basis. I do tell them that it's not ok, that it's between the adults and the children shouldn't be made to suffer. There again, there are parents who are still married who constantly slag off each parent to the children which is equally as bad, and as cruel. Thank you for posting your wonderful thoughts. oxo
