Nope Dude. It was produced for about half a year over here, as far as I know it's one of two that actually survived. 75 BHP is just not enough power for such a fat lady. Lucky me that that thing is so basic that it doesn't even have upholstery on doorcards. Does the job. Very well actually. Drove it about 17000 miles last year.
Seem to remember a long time back there was a South African model of this with the Ford 5.0 v8 in it out of the factory , only ever seen one at a motor show but don't know if it was any good or not.
The 5 litre V8 was not the Shoebox, it was the Mk I, built officially for Ford by Basil Green in SA called Granada Perana. But there weren't many. The guy built Capri Perana with the same Ford V8, about 500 of those left the factory, and are now really rare and sought after.
The easiest way to drive a V8 Shoebox is importing an Australian Granada (Falcon).
Ahh ! well I'll have to assume the one I saw at the show wasn't original then as it was a mk2 but I have to say it must have been done to a high standard as it looked original.
I thought the falcon was a wider car than the granada though with a straight 6
Yup. Germany. But the car is registered in Danmark. The 1,8 Diesel from a Sierra should have the same bellhousing, but this is a 4 speed, so You'd better rebuilt everything. I won't ever. This is a 30 year old car that managed to stay stock until today where the Shoebox Granadas are used as partscars for the Granada I. It's also one of two I know, that actually survived to this day.
Sweet cars! I just started up my Granada today ... it had been sitting for 2 years and one month! Mine is a 1982 2,0 GHIA

They didn't have a 1.6 model in the UK, was this popular over there ?
2.0 was the smallest over here.

what country is this? germany?
I would prefer the diesel!
A 90bhp mondeo 1.8td would be a good choice, same bellhousing I think.

@MisterZumbi
I was reading that ford tried a 1.8 diesel with 60bhp in the granada but it was to slow to get to production!
they also made a 2.1 diesel with 67bhp if I recall correctly!
They should have fitted a 6.2 gmc diesel!
