  • Why dont they sing the full French version? I guess only Nordiques fans do that...

  • I am not from Canada but I love this anthem!

  • Damn those ninjas peeling onions! :')

  • God,this beauty at it's finest.Canada Kicks ass!

    Coming from a Sharks fan.

  • Thumbs up if you started singing along!

When the anthem ends, let us drink beer and watch some hockey, eh?

  • I don't know about you but this bring tears of pride to my eyes.

  • REGARDLESS how their team is doing, Canadian cities always pack their arenas for hockey because WE LOVE THE GAME!

  • @raran44 Edmonton fans suck... opposing fans gotta pack that house so it sells out.

  • @KenBayful Hopefully so.

  • Keep singing this anthem, Quebec. Don't separate away from Canada.

  • @MultiPring WHAT THE FUCK. THIS ANTHEM WAS WRITTEN IN FRENCH

  • @YouLikeTehKawk 0:57 They switch to English. Way to pay attention.

  • @TheoreticalPixies The tradition in Montreal hockey is to sing all but the very end in French and then switch to the English version.

  • Isn't it the U.S. that keeps Canada "glorious and free" ....... i mean really??

  • @TheJahmaica398

Absolutely, but its Canada that supplies your oil, so dont be a dick about it :)

  • @TheJahmaica398

It's the US that's also starts shit with everyone and Canada has to go in and cover their ass.... "I mean really" we wouldn't have troops in the Middle-East if you didn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong.

  • @TheJahmaica398 Canada doesn't need the United States, we'd be better off without it.

  • @TheJahmaica398 Actually no they don`t Canada is not loathed around the world like the US is, Canada also has a world of allies and diplomtic immunity, on the other hand Canada is the US`s largest foreign supplier of energy, including oil, gas, uranium, and electric power. The US would crumble due to high population and not enough natural resources close by to support yourselves. Canada has the capabilties of producing thousands of Nuclear bombs in months if really needed. We`re okay.

  • @zacodaco1234 are you retarted. take a look at the last election. how many seats does the bloc have? 4... Their hopeless dreams of being a country are dead.

  • I think it's beautiful how they switched from french to english <3

  • @zacodaco1234 Quebec will never be a country ;-)

  • much respect

  • @zacodaco1234 à ce momment la si vous pouviez accepter la Wallonie comme "territoire d'outre mer" ce serait sympa :)

  • Beautiful.

    --From a Flyers fan

  • @phillyphanatic1830 Thanks a lot...I hope we'll meet again with Philly next year, in the playoffs...If you guys can sign Bryzgalov, you'll be some serious contender! But my Habs will win for sure anyway...lol...Have a nice summer...

  • @zacodaco1234 ya ok i dont think so

  • @CerberusSoul4ever Your arguments being...?

  • Anyone else think it's funny that I live in Florida, the farthest place away from Canada in the U.S., and I know O Canada in English and French? XD

  • that was better than the olympics

  • il me semble que c'est tellement "fail" de devoir mettre les paroles en karaoke de l'hymne national pour que les gens chantent.

  • @sexyproute I rather agree. Shouldn't everyone know the words without having them plastered on the Jumbtron?

    Still a cool moment, though.

  • @alexrgs2 The words were on the Jumbotron to show which parts were in french and which in english.

  • I want American spectators at sports games singing "The Star Spangled Banner" like Habs fans were singing "O Canada" in this video.

Americans are known to flaunt and boast their pride for the USA. We (as in Americans) should always sing aloud the SSB as a result with whoever is presenting and NOT remain silent OR cheer and applaud during the presentation.

  • @BrownBrother27 It's happened before. It's just really hard to execute singing the song. Have you tried singing it on key? the octave notes are so hard to hit. It's happened, just not common. O canada is easy for me to sing since it was written for it to be easy. teh SSB was written for a drunk person to sing... ugh

  • Montreal is the best city on canada, go habs go

  • looks like russia lol

  • NHL fans or american fans dont know anything about atmosphere.

  • @assk199 id like to attend a football match in any of the big stadiums in England or Europe talk about atmosphere being at Anfield or Old Trafford has gotta be more crazy than anything we have across the pond

  • @assk199 Is that so? watch?v=CM2q36rp304. get shit on....

  • That was very moving!

  • it's just a question of tradition and culture

  • Sumbled on to this by mistake, had to post

    WOW, now that's loyalty!

  • TedDavid25 FUCKYOU Made In Québec BITCH

  • @QuebecHellsMTLAngels How does it feel to live in a shitty socialist province run by Canada? No Frenchmen on your currency and you passport says CANADA...........hahahahahaha

  • @gritzydgb8 Nope... our passport says Canada (a French word for the Huron word Kanata) it bears the maple leaf (found mostly in Quebec) our anthem was first sung for St-Jean-Baptiste (a French nationalist holiday) true... all your symbols are reaallly anti-French.... Stay in school, learn a little history and come back to comment once you know a thing or two.

  • Comment removed

  • @gritzydgb8 You're wrong. Wilfrid Laurier is a French Canadien. He's on the five dollar bill.

  • Quebec separtists fail lol

  • proud to be canadiens and to be here !!! may 20th a historic game

  • What a great game. Habs win it 5-1, great atmosphere I was behind halaks net row FF and it was fantastic, sucks the habs coudnt pull it off against Philly

  • @UpstairsMaid My goal is not to brag about my own associations successes in various sports or to say that the Swedish hockey league is better on the ice. What I try to do is to tell you North Americans that fan culture is something else than dressing like a moron and shouting your national anthem. For instance supporting your team through the game

/watch?v=cvFimmBUlLo (from the last seasons Swedish football top league qualifier)

/watch?v=HDl8qlf6s0Q (this seasons Swedish hockey quarterfinals)

  • canadian unite for great charity...show you care..1hr left to represent

  • Loser habs can only try to win by cheating. I hope they get sand in their eyes next time.

  • great vid....cant wait for the game tonight.....before the game..save a life...go to search: mrjonrussell and find out......support canadian content in a global forum..thank you

  • agreed with llamasucker, the ULTRAS spirit and support style tramples all! AVANTI ULTRAS

  • @milanhabs Thanks, but I would say that I'm closer to the English style of support. What I really can't understand is how some people truly believe is that singing your countrys national anthem is to support your team.

  • @llamasucker i completely agree, i think playing the national anthem at every single game wherever that ay be in north america is over-done and exaggerated.

  • Well this looks like an interesting conversation... Go habs Go!!

  • Ok, so you sing your national anthem, well done. This is a clip from when Djurgårdens IF played in this years Swedish hockey finals, by far the best hockey fans in the world.

    /watch?v=HMbq3FgJ7UE&feature=channel

  • @llamasucker

Someone should remind them this is hockey, not Futbol. Get the fuck out of here, or enjoy the HABS. Spammers these days....

  • @MitchMgee @MitchMgee In American and Canadian sports, game days are an event that is more or less a community get-togtether. When it comes to sport in general in Europe, the average attendance is lower but the passion higher. Mike Zigomanis, who won Stanley cup with Pittsburgh last year and played with Djurgården this year, said again and again during the playoffs that the fans were uncomparably better than those in any team in NHL.

  • @llamasucker

NO SHIT! I'm Portuguese & Italian, so I have that European passion! That's also why soccer fans and European hockey fans are the best fans in the world. But I would have to say soccer fans are better.

  • @MitchMgee Yes, football fans are better since football have more history and is the most prestigous sport in the world. Why do you say "soccer" if you have Portuguese and Italian heritage? It's called football since you play it with your feet. Also, why do you tell me to "get the fuck out of here" when you in your next response write that the European fan culture is superior?

  • @llamasucker

I said soccer because I am well used to it, as I live in Calgary. I told you to leave because your comment was meaningless and us Montreal fans couldn't care less about the random links posted about other teams' fans. We came to this video to watch our own fans sing our own anthem, not another teams' fans. If I wanted to see other fans, I would have went and done that.

  • @MitchMgee I hope that you were raised in Montreal, because if there is one thing I hate it is people who don't support their local teams. What does HABS stand for?

  • @llamasucker

I was born and raised in Calgary, but I have an undying passion for my Les Canadiens. And I have reason to, as it is very sentimental to me and my family. And no, it's not because of the cups that they won. I will not share with you why I support this team, but I have just as much of a passion for Montreal as any other Montrealler. And if HABS is some gay acronym that is insulting to the organization, again I say it, get the fuck out of here. It is Les Habitants, that is all.

  • @MitchMgee Insulting to THE organization? To what organization? Pardon my French but I'm Swedish so you might have done a twist or turn that I couldnt follow.

  • @llamasucker

You said "What does HABS stand for?". I bet you were going to make some sort of stupid joke that humors you. DOn't even bother, as that would be disrespectful and insulting to the organization. "Insulting to THE organization?". Yes, insulting to the Montreal Canadiens. Stop playing dumb.

  • @MitchMgee It was not my purpose to play dumb, since I'm a bit from completly fluent in English I temporarily forgot what acronym means. Seems like you fond to pretend you have big balls when you're on the other side of the pond. By the way, those towels you wave around are gay, just like your so called "mother", so jog on poof and suck his cock you wanker.

  • @llamasucker

Talk about class you stupid prick. Ooh big man, a 21 year old man insulting and taunting a 16 year old. Congrats, you have the biggest balls in all of Sweden. Go ahead and insult the towels, the fans or my mother. But it's obvious you are jealous of the best hockey franchise in history and that you don't have a mom, just 2 days.

  • @MitchMgee

    *dads, not days.

  • @MitchMgee Why would I be jealous of a team so far away when my own organization have won 413 championships in different sports to this date? Among them there are 16 ice hockey and 11 football championships. Why would I be jealous when there is an atmosphere at our games that you could only dream of, if you havent been to your origin countries of course. In your first comment you threw away an insult, and you try to talk about class? Vaffanculo...

  • @llamasucker 413 championships? LOL. and not one of them comes close to a stanley cup. montreal has won 24 stanley's and that is like 10 billion of your shitty peewee cups. LOL. you know aquat and come here and trashtalk. sweden - the country that made love to the nazis.

  • @UpstairsMaid And please explain "sweden - the country that made love to the nazis."

  • @llamasucker your country was not invaded by the nazis in wwii because your country remained staunchly pro-german, while all about you your neighbours were invaded and suffered. your wwii effort consisted of having 8,000 of your countrymen sneak into finland and volunteeer - the least that any european country did . even switzerland did more by jelping jews escape the nazis.

  • @UpstairsMaid Somewhat off-topic, but ok then. My country was not pro-german or pro-allies, it was neutral. The location of Sweden is not strategically important but we do have a lot of iron ore in the north. The export quota were quite low considering its potential, the Germans knew that invading Sweden would provoke either the Swedish to destroy the mines or the RAF to bombing them. Bombing the mines while Sweden still neutral would provoke Sweden to the Axis side.

  • @UpstairsMaid The help to Finland was low when it comes to manpower, but high in material, Finland would not have survived the first war vs the Soviets without the vast amount of supplies sent and the airplanes provided. Also, many Danish and Norweigan jews could escape to Sweden. The country who did the least was probably Denmark who capitulated when threatened of a bombing raid.

  • @llamasucker

Awesome. Discussion of Winter War on Canadiens video. I love it. True enough about the western aid but the tenacity and skill of the average Finnish soldier cannot be underestimated. They were highly trained and fiercely patriotic and fighting on their own turf - that offset poor equipment and the numerical superiority of the Reds. The Danes had their citizen army and fought on. They rescued 97% of their Jewish population in just a couple of nights by ferrying them to Sweden.

  • @llamasucker 413 championships isn't that big a deal when you compete in 17 sports, including boxing and wrestling which each have championships for mulitple weight classes (Univ of Michigan has over 400 team championships while Univ of Texas has around 550). Likewise, you say there is "an atmosphere..you could only dream of." Try going to an American college football game. It's 90,000 screaming fans, many driving several hours to get to the game. They aren't just getting out of the house.

  • @gturner38 I don't consider college championships to be worthy of mentioning since those championships are not won on a senior level. When it comes to fans I prefer quality over quantity, for instance the Greek team of Aris don't have a succesful history, but they might have the best fans in the world (watch?v=m-T9C19VOPo). When it comes to driving for hours, all clubs with a fanbase worth mentioning have followings of thousands to the away games.

  • @llamasucker What would you expect him to say? He's not going to say "Hey thanks for the support, but I'd much rather be back in Pittsburgh." If he says it after he retires from the game or says it to an American audience, then I'll give it some value.

  • @llamasucker i think you just dont know what are you talking about....why you come trashtalk here...just get out of here. We talk about hockey and its way better in america. I hate to read comment on youtube because of all kid coming talkshit and hiding behind a pc....

  • wow i was there man.... what a sickkkkkkk night!!!!! it was amazing how loud it was in there

  • Let's go Habs!

  • let's go boys..!
