I have to say I'm not afraid or ashamed to believe in Jesus Christ. He showed us the way by becoming a man and dying when we should have. He bore the pain as we would and should have done, and he was the bravest and kindest man alive. He showed everyone the way in their darkest hour, and set an example for everyone so they may live eternally and be saved. The devil does the opposite. Have Jesus in your life, and you'll see things differently.

All accounts of what Jesus said and all the events surrounding his life were written decades after his ascension. Oh my, that is quite a bit of time for people to blow things out of proportion and get details wrong.
There is also the fact that before the gospels were written, there are practically no historical records of Jesus. If he really did the things he could do, many writers of that time would have went ape-shit and recorded what happened; Nope, it took decades for that to happen.

Thanks for the sentiments, but no thanks. If God really knows me, he would know that I would listen to him if he spoke to me directly. However, that seems to go against the idea of knowing God through faith. I guess it is "unfortunate" that faith is an intrinsic quality found only in some people. You can't learn faith.
Jesus' death on the cross was no sacrifice. There is no sacrifice in enduring days of pain then spending the rest of eternity in Heaven. There are people today and back then that most likely suffered more than Jesus ever did. I would praise Jesus if he ceased to exist in life and the afterlife after the crucifixion.

If you do sin, ask for forgiveness and he will forgive no matter sin, THAT is great love. God did create humans who were not sinners. Adam and Eve were pure, and if they had not sinned, everyone would also be pure. But they chose to sin. Don't blame God for sin, because He is is without sin. He is the only one who can testify to that. It's our hearts that chose to sin: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

Obviously they were NOT pure since they sinned, like every other human ever. God can see the future. God knew they would sin. God created them despite his knowledge that they would sin. I have one question. Since God knew that all humans would sin, why would he create them anyways and then punish them for being exactly how he knew they would be?
He created them knowing they would sin because He wanted them to have a choice. He created humans for His pleasure. He wanted to have a love relationship with them. But if He didn't give us a choice, then it's not really love. Forced love is not love.
He doesn't have to punish them. basically, it's God saying "Alright, you guys screwed up BIG TIME. now, there is only one way to get right with Me, and that's to accept my Son as mediator."
All the answers so far have missed the mark BIG time: God gives us a free will. Imagine you having a son, and when he gets old enough to understand, MAKE HIM love you. You wouldn't do it because you want him to love and honor you by him wanting to. God would never make us obey Him. I do understand the difficulty in comprehending God knowing the future and still creating us "sinners". I'm sure there are opinions, but nothing directly Scriptural explains that.

If I am in control of my own thoughts and decisions, then god is NOT, therefore god is not all powerful. If god can change my thoughts or actions, then i don't have free will.
You are equating power with control. In this world, we all seek power - through money/fame/etc. God is all powerful, but a different kind. He's powerful enough to NOT intervein in the direction we take our lives ... by the thoughts we entertain. God can change our thoughts and actions; but only if we are willing to let Him. Yielding to Him totally, reading His written Word (Bible), seeking His ways and praying will lead you to changed thoughts and lives. But it's not because He forced you.

It is a big deal. I don't mind people dwelling in their delusions (there will always be deluded people, see astrology LOL) but when there delusional starts threatening people with psychological torture such as hell fire and eternal suffering, that really has an effect on people. I do not like it, and thats why I want religions like those to be torn down.
well it's not supposed to be threatening... It should feel liberating... ya know how like nothing in this life, like nothing - is every permanently satisfying? you always have to have more and it's never quite exactly enough? Well when you have a relationship with Jesus, it's satisfying. You'll want more every day, but it's still satisfying. Jesus can become a good addiction, in a sense, and in that, He's the only addiction that will ever feel the same way back to you.
Dude! I don't think you understand what I mean! Imagine being extremely thirsty - the only thing you probably want is a drink. When you get that, it feels amazing! But a few hours later, you're thirsty again. And while you're thirsty, it sucks. Well with Jesus it's that same way, except that when you're thirsty for Him, it doesn't suck. Instead, you feel really good.
We're not thirsty for imaginary person, but instead the grace and unspeakable joy we're given. Jesus Christ is a symbol of God's love for us. Jesus took upon himself the sin of the world. When he died on that cross and arose 3 days later sin was overcome. He died for you and he died for me. He died for each person, even if they don't believe. Also, one of my prophesies was this - Don't let your weaknesses disqualify you to do the work of God. This was amazing because I screw up with stuff a lot and feel like a bad person, to bad to lead in church! But God saw my heart and wanted to let me know it's okay. I never told a single person I was struggling with this! But God knew. What I say is ttue. If this is not God, It's something bigger than us playing a huge joke. I can only believe it's God. ... I agree with what krazykatrina24 said. But if you simply don't believe in the God that we do, then how do you explain the supernatural works of God that are happening all over the world? People suddenly receiving hearing back, and sight back, right in the middle of a conference? Things like that... It's amazing... Is it simply chance? Or is there something bigger?

I don't actually have tangible proof that He does, but I know what I have experienced and it certainly isn't something I've made up. A few weeks ago I was at International House of Prayer, KS. I was frustrated during that time because I felt like I was missing God's leading in my life. In a coffee house, three girls came up to me and said to me that God's working on me and to be patient.
that's something you need to ask God, not me. See, this is the part that separates believers from non-believers. Christians have this relationship with God that each of them have experienced personally... Then there's the people that refuse to open themselves up to the idea because they are too stubborn and want proof. Your heart is to hardened to accept proof, because the only proof is to experience Jesus... and then there's no turning back.
how do you know? When you accept Christ, His spirit actually comes into you. He guides us - kind of like a moral compass. Sometimes he speaks to us by revealing things to us and making things makes sense(things we read in the Bible). Other times, God ACTUALLY speaks to us... through visions and dreams... But He only does this to those that are EXTREMELY close to Him... Unfortunately, most believers aren't there yet...(the vision and dream bit) including myself.

I have to say I'm not afraid or ashamed to believe in Jesus Christ. He showed us the way by becoming a man and dying when we should have. He bore the pain as we would and should have done, and he was the bravest and kindest man alive. He showed everyone the way in their darkest hour, and set an example for everyone so they may live eternally and be saved. The devil does the opposite. Have Jesus in your life, and you'll see things differently.

All accounts of what Jesus said and all the events surrounding his life were written decades after his ascension. Oh my, that is quite a bit of time for people to blow things out of proportion and get details wrong.
There is also the fact that before the gospels were written, there are practically no historical records of Jesus. If he really did the things he could do, many writers of that time would have went ape-shit and recorded what happened; Nope, it took decades for that to happen.

However, that seems to go against the idea of knowing God through faith. I guess it is "unfortunate" that faith is an intrinsic quality found only in some people. You can't learn faith.

Jesus' death on the cross was no sacrifice. There is no sacrifice in enduring days of pain then spending the rest of eternity in Heaven. There are people today and back then that most likely suffered more than Jesus ever did. I would praise Jesus if he ceased to exist in life and the afterlife after the crucifixion.

It is bad wording on my part: I don't mean a literal reward. I mean something along the lines that you know that after all is said and done you didn't give anything up. Jesus didn't give up his "life." He ressurected and ascended to heaven.
I'm not impressed. What does mortal pain mean to an infinite being? Probably next to nothing. Like I said, if he ceased to exist completely after the crucifixion I wouldn't be so blunt.

I agree that God loves us more than we can understand and his ways are higher than ours but I don't think there's anything simple about our God, but that's why we have each other to point out things that God reveals to us to each other

God doesn't tempt us, and sin alone doesn't send you to hell either. If anything God tests us, as weird as it sounds to you. If you do sin, ask for forgiveness and he will forgive no matter sin, THAT is great love. If you don't believe me, has there been an instance where you apologized to someone, but that person didn't forgive you? You see, God will never, EVER, forsake you.

God gave His son in our place, neither is God the author of sin, it is satan who tempts. God never made anyone go to hell, hell was created for satan and angels that followed him. God loved us so much He gave His only begotten son to save us from eternity in hell, so we could spend eternity with Him instead, but Jesus is the only way to God, if you reject Jesus you reject the very plan of redemption and the saviou who gave everything for us, God is love, he has done everything so we can be saved

God did create humans who were not sinners. Adam and Eve were pure, and if they had not sinned, everyone would also be pure. But they chose to sin. Don't blame God for sin, because He is is without sin. He is the only one who can testify to that. Obviously they were NOT pure since they sinned, like every other human ever. God can see the future. God knew they would sin. God created them despite his knowledge that they would sin. I have one question. Since God knew that all humans would sin, why would he create them anyways and then punish them for being exactly how he knew they would be?

He created them knowing they would sin because He wanted them to have a choice. He created humans for His pleasure. He wanted to have a love relationship with them. But if He didn't give us a choice, then it's not really love. Forced love is not love.
He doesn't have to punish them. basically, it's God saying "Alright, you guys screwed up BIG TIME. now, there is only one way to get right with Me, and that's to accept my Son as mediator."

All the answers so far have missed the mark BIG time: God gives us a free will. Imagine you having a son, and when he gets old enough to understand, MAKE HIM love you. You wouldn't do it because you want him to love and honor you by him wanting to. God would never make us obey Him. I do understand the difficulty in comprehending God knowing the future and still creating us "sinners". I'm sure there are opinions, but nothing directly Scriptural explains that.

You are equating power with control. In this world, we all seek power - through money/fame/etc. God is all powerful, but a different kind. He's powerful enough to NOT intervein in the direction we take our lives ... by the thoughts we entertain. God can change our thoughts and actions; but only if we are willing to let Him. Yielding to Him totally, reading His written Word (Bible), seeking His ways and praying will lead you to changed thoughts and lives. But it's not because He forced you.

If they only knew the joy we receive from being saved. I find it really sad. But, sometimes being humble and taking their persecution and pray for them may be better than trying to make us sound like we're the best.

It is a big deal. I don't mind people dwelling in their delusions (there will always be deluded people, see astrology LOL) but when there delusional starts threatening people with psychological torture such as hell fire and eternal suffering, that really has an effect on people. I do not like it, and thats why I want religions like those to be torn down.

It should feel liberating... ya know how like nothing in this life, like nothing - is every permanently satisfying? you always have to have more and it's never quite exactly enough? Well when you have a relationship with Jesus, it's satisfying. You'll want more every day, but it's still satisfying. Jesus can become a good addiction, in a sense, and in that, He's the only addiction that will ever feel the same way back to you.

Dude! I don't think you understand what I mean! Imagine being extremely thirsty - the only thing you probably want is a drink. When you get that, it feels amazing! But a few hours later, you're thirsty again. And while you're thirsty, it sucks. Well with Jesus it's that same way, except that when you're thirsty for Him, it doesn't suck. Instead, you feel really good.

We're not thirsty for imaginary person, but instead the grace and unspeakable joy we're given. Jesus Christ is a symbol of God's love for us. Jesus took upon himself the sin of the world. When he died on that cross and arose 3 days later sin was overcome. He died for you and he died for me. He died for each person, even if they don't believe. God's love is so powerful, he loves YOU even though you may not believe. He sent Jesus to the cross to pay for your sins, even though you make fun of him!

Also, one of my prophesies was this - Don't let your weaknesses disqualify you to do the work of God. This was amazing because I screw up with stuff a lot and feel like a bad person, to bad to lead in church! But God saw my heart and wanted to let me know it's okay. I never told a single person I was struggling with this! But God knew. What I say is ttue. If this is not God, It's something bigger than us playing a huge joke. I can only believe it's God. ... People suddenly receiving hearing back, and sight back, right in the middle of a conference? Things like that... It's amazing... Is it simply chance? Or is there something bigger?

Not at all! But it seems to me that a lot of other religions are all about extreme discipline and pleasing their god and in some cases, going to extremes that make life not enjoyable. When I think about what I believe Christ did for me, it makes me not want to do shit - not because I'm going to go to hell if I do, but rather because I'm not going to go to hell no matter what I do now. It's like you get a super conscience that operates differently depending on your current situation. *Different*

okay okay I see that you know where you stand. But How do you know for sure that God really doesn't exist? I don't actually have tangible proof that He does, but I know what I have experienced and it certainly isn't something I've made up. A few weeks ago I was at International House of Prayer, KS. I was frustrated during that time because I felt like I was missing God's leading in my life. In a coffee house, three girls came up to me and said to me that God's working on me and to be patient.

Christians have this relationship with God that each of them have experienced personally... Then there's the people that refuse to open themselves up to the idea because they are too stubborn and want proof. how do you know? When you accept Christ, His spirit actually comes into you. He guides us - kind of like a moral compass. Sometimes he speaks to us by revealing things to us and making things makes sense(things we read in the Bible). Other times, God ACTUALLY speaks to us... through visions and dreams... But He only does this to those that are EXTREMELY close to Him... Unfortunately, most believers aren't there yet...(the vision and dream bit) including myself.

... I've been there. It's frustrating... I guess a lot of it is just in your heart, not your mind. You have to be at the point where you just say to God, "Here I am, I give up. Use me." I dunno if that makes a lot of sense. But I've been so far away from God in my past, and he brought me back to Him... I think a lot of the time we create in our minds who God is and then expect things... but really the Bible just scratches the surface of who God is.

If you were to want evidence of the actual prophesies, I have them recorded. I guess you'd have to know me personally to understand that I've never seen these prophets before. God spoke through them to me. Seriously, they knew things from my past and gave me guidance about things I've been wondering about.
