  • I guess it's a big improvement over what used to be.

Several years ago the people you're defending would be just hanged on a nearby tree and all the people around would encourage the deed.

Nowadays you, AI, are more concerned about the criminals, terrorists and their supporters, than you are concerned about their victims.

get your minds straight, the bombs are checking the political views of your guts before spreading them around the neighborhood.

Get real for a change, re-check your priorities

  • You know what is also against human rights? Terrorism. It is justified to torture a person who has murdered thousands of innocent people and has information that can be used to stop another attack like 9/11 from happening again.

  • ArmedPhoenix97 you're right those men don't have the same right as a citizen because they are enemy combatents. and sleep depervation and stress possistions are NOT FORMS OF TORTURE. but the video is right a man under torture will say whatever he needs to make it stop. many of the prisoners at gitmo are guilty and deserve to be executed. however the sad truth is many are innocent. iam in favour of the death penalty, but theres also no need to sink to the level of the enemy. its a very thin line.

  • If you think that sleep deprivation is not a form of torture, then you've never been sleep deprived and are completely ignorant. Sleep deprived people are desperate because their body is DETERIORATING. Why do you think people die from 15 days without sleep? Sleep is essential because it heals your body. Without sleep, your systems fail because they do not have the down time to restore themselves, so please, next time you want to post something completely unsupported by fact, don't do it here.

  • @quirky179 yes i have been but thats not the point

  • Unfortunately these practices are spreading. It is very likely that a police office will be pointing a gun at your head and any children in your car for minor issues. What is going on? I thought that I lived in a free country free of death threats from my government???

  • JOBA: YES THEY STOLE THE OIL. With a gun held to the heads of Iraqi Parliment and the hand picked puppet Shia President, the US oil companies got the oil they wanted. And no, they are not paying top dollar. Obviously you no nothing on the topic.

  • The message should be for a fair MILITARY tribunal or for humane death sentences or other sentences BUT the Military already has a system of check and balances which regulates that...

  • Comment removed

  • This is absurd!

    How dare you.

These Criminals of Humanity were caught on the field of battle. The have, by some of their own testimonies, murdered men, women and children AS WELL AS AMERICAN SOLDIERS and MARINES.

Torture works. The information gathered and attained saves lives!

Should it be regulated in the sense of 'this is allowed - this isnt.'? - Yes.

Should it be discussed for all to hear and prepare for? NO!

  • People were picked up on the battlefield, because the US military was handing out money to war lords, who then turned in all their personal enemies. We had a 80yr old quadraplegic at GITMO for years, chained to the floor. A doctor who was an OBGYN, delivered a still born child, the doctor was turned over to authorities as a terrorist. The US locked up everyone over the age of 14...torture never works, you get faulty, lies to stop torture. Who would Jesus torture Armed Phoenix.

  • I think those who commit terror should be subjucated to torture. Why should someone who kills people not be subjucated to what they have put before others?

Not all humans should be defended. There are bad humans, humans that are the cause of our World's problems. Humans that halt human efforts to further grow and advance. There are some humans who are merely stupid to an extreme level. The World WOULD be BETTER WITHOUT them.

  • @Dmasterman

DO you believe George W Bush should be tortured?

As much as I dislike the man, and believe he is a war criminal, I also believe he should go through a fair trial, and NEVER tortured

  • If he ever fell into the hands of his enemies, you don't think he would be?

    ;)

  • I'm sure he will be. I asked you if YOU agree he should be or not. As I said, by my standards he's one of the worst war criminals of our times. But if it was for me, no. Torture is never tolerated

  • WellI would not know nor care. I didn't entirely support him and I didn't entirely not support him.

    :)

  • Yes and all other who committed this---Why does'nt the Media chase him for answers???

Shit little game they play every day with all citizens on all stations CNN MSNBC ect ect ..who does'nt know they are worthless in Congress and President/?

  • Put down your Bible, Torah, and Koran and stand up for human decency. Religions are supposed to be about goodness, humanity, love of ones brother/sister, torture, war, brutality, poverty, rape etc...are anti human being.

  • Religions are flaws, that are degrading human society and evolution to greater good and greater accomplishment. I believe they should be rid of.

  • Christ, what leftist nonsense and stupidity.

Amnesty International doesn't have a single video anywhere condemning actual terrorism - only the tactics we use to fight terrorism.

This is absolute moral cowardice on the part of AI.

  • More neo-Marxist propaganda.

America has liberated more people than any other country in history.

Sorry if America can't always be the bad guy.

  • the past doesn't justify the presence. If we end torture, the world will end torture. torture helps nothing, it is only vengeance.. which I can understand but it doesn't work as a deterrent.. it only pisses off the terrorists more.. leading to more problems.

  • First, I don't have a problem with waterboarding a terrorist.

The purpose is to get intel in order to SAVE LIVES.

NOT for any interrogator to get his rocks off hurting a terrorist. And it's NOT vengeance.

    Second,

'If we end torture, the world will end torture.'

Tell me you're not this gullible.

Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, Darfur, China, etc.

ALL these countries will stop torturing their political prisoners, if we stop waterboarding terrorist lowlives?

  • If we stop torture, it will at least stop torture within the UN, and then torture all together would be seen (in theory) as a (for a lack of a better word) Holocaust, and hopefully fight against it. But who makes the decision to torture these terrorists? how do we know if they are competent? Because OUR GOVERNMENT says so? Also, how does this intel save lives?

  • The UN's resolutions against Saddam Hussein accomplished nothing. Any resolution they pass against torture will have the same effect.

The recently released documents concerning CIA waterboarding showed that a plot to crash planes into the Library Tower in L.A., the tallest building on the West Coast, was stopped by waterboarding Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

    That's how I know they're competent.

    Thousands of lives were saved.

    By waterboarding.

That was OUR GOVERNMENT - PROTECTING US.

  • Of course there is evidence fed to us from our government that they did a good job.. however.. how can any of us know that this is true, or just a story made up to keep the majority of civilization at bay while they come up with more ways to get approval?

  • Than the reverse could be true.

How can we know that the Obama administration's possible future investigations into the Bush administration's policies are legitimate and honorable - and NOT designed specifically to disgrace Bush officials and the Republican party permanently...ONLY so the Democrats can remain in power for as long as possible?

  • Good question. just so you know, I am unbiased when it comes to democrat, republican, etc.. I am actually an anarchist idealist, but I still do my work studying about the governments around the world. Anyway, you are right, that could be possible, and I wish that there was a way for the head of the state just to come out and say "I am a (republican, democrat), and all I care about is money, and keeping myself in power. Then maybe people would get the picture.

  • C'mon, now...you know better.

No politician in the world would be elected on that platform.

  • Haha, yeah, I know, but it is the truth, and if the general public actually understood what these politicians were after, maybe some change would come about for the better.

  • Also, Mohammed confessed to 31 wide-ranged terrorism acts... After denying 183 times, he confessed to 31 acts. I don't know if I am buying that he did it out of it being the truth or him wanted to not be tortured any more.

  • Mohammed was a very, very, very busy terrorist for Al Qaeda for many years. I'm surprised he only confessed to 31 acts of terrorism.

  • Protect someone who blows up buildings and kills innocent Americans? I understand to give them a right to a fair trial, but if they are guilty, human rights gets thrown out the door.

  • I can see that you are angry at what happens.. but when we do so, we help NOTHING, if you would please think for a minute, if we kill them or torture them, does it help or hurt relations with the terrorists? It only angers them more. If we were to keep them in jail, it would both cost less money and work as a better deterrent.

  • 9/11 demonstrated to me that they're already pretty angry at us.

Our relations with them can only be...war.

Do we keep caving in to their demands endlessly, or do we fight them?

  • Hmm, Well, here is where our beliefs differ.. I actually believe that 9/11 was an inside job. If not, then I do not think that justifies violence in Iraq. Maybe in Afghanistan, but, I also think that we should end all wars somehow, how to do that.. well, it will probably require some violence in itself, but for the last 10 years we've been in an oil war.

  • I believe that the odds of pulling off a 9/11 without a single person to come forward and explain their involvement in the plot is pretty slim.

Also, if you'll remember, the left said that the Gulf War was all about oil.

A war for oil would have military forces protecting the oil fields of Iraq, and escorting oil tankers out of the region with our Navy's ships.

    None of that is happening.

  • in 199(9?) the first conflict of the clusterf**k of conflicts recently was the U.S. Drilling diagonally from Iran into Iraq. And... sadly, I don't remember where I read this.. it was in some book, but anyway, after that there were a few conflicts in the middle east involving the Americans on oil bases, and then all of a sudden 9/11 happened. Also, according to a set of scientists, 2 planes crashing into a the towers wouldn't have been enough to destroy it. There had to have been explosives.

  • A War for Oil. Mission Accomplished. In case you didnt no the oil companies are stealing all of Iraq's oil. Its in the Consitution Paul Bremer and the band of banker/gangster thieves, forced on the Iraqi people. Dont believe me. Google: Chevron, BP, Shell who got the oil. Mission Accomplished brought to you by the boys from Texas. The Bush Crime Family.

  • More 'War for Oil' nonsense.

If the Iraq war had been for oil, you would've seen special forces teams confiscate the oil fields, the oil fields would've been surrounded by armored tanks and humvees, the oil then would've been transported to the port of Basrah under close air support cover, and finally the oil would've been shipped out in tankers, escorted by U.S. Navy carrier battle groups.

NONE of that happened under Bush.

  • What did happen is that over 4,000 young men and women gave their lives trying to protect the Iraqi people from Islamic paramilitary death squads - whom our mainstream media taught us to refer to as 'insurgents'.

After too many terrible years full of violence, it appears the war was finally won, the violence is down tremendously, and the Iraqi people are safe.

George W. Bush refused to surrender the Iraqi people to terrorist rule, and for that...

He will be condemned for eternity.

  • Finally, didn't you guys tell us that the first Gulf War was also for oil?

After we demolished Saddam Hussein's forces in Kuwait, the U.S. military sat UNOPPOSED on the greatest oil supply in the world.

What then did we do with our military forces there?

We put out the fires, and then we went home.

    Again.

  • Oh, one last thing...

About those 'evil' American oil companies...

    1. Are those companies 'stealing' the oil from Iraq - or are they offering to pay HUGE sums of money for the rights to drill there?

    2. Are only American oil companies interested in Iraqi oil - or are oil companies from around the world making offers to the Iraqi gov't for their oil?

  • Well, the question is: why are they angry?

Do a little research and you'll realise the historical causes for their anger.

  • There are Islamic texts going back to the 7th century calling Jews descendant from apes and pigs, and forcing Jews to pay a tax to the muslim community for living among them.

How's that for 'a little research'?

  • Well for starters not every text written by a Muslim is regarded as canon of Islam.

Secondly, we're talking modern history right now. If we're gonna begin discussing the history of humanity, then I should start listing all the massacres Christians committed against Muslims during the Crusades. But you don't see me doing that, do you?

  • That wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

The Crusades were a response to King Saladin's sacking of Jerusalem.

  • What the ....? Have yo ever even oppened a history book ever. Man, I never thought someone could be so close-minded or ignorant !!

  • Sorry if the truth hurts your sensibilities.

  • Sorry if you got truth and illusion mixed up

  • Great comeback.

Islam has a lot to atone for, to the rest of the world.

  • What happened to the land of the free and brave?

Bring back the Human Rights into the Minds of the people!

  • it is a shame.

this happens when secret services go too far.

It does reflect the inhumane world of spies though on the other hand, that swept over into politics and then into society.

It scares the people, and half of em are hypocrites.

Its a pissdroplet on the us flag, and it wasnt done by some people wiht an AK and a holy kuran.

    It can be solved overnight.

Crown jewels out- and clean floor wiht it. A judge a lawyer and some human rights nerds for overwatch in court- and its overinayear
