you need to be carefull with the LS7's. they have a very narrow side walls because they are extreamly bored small blocks(the OLD 427 was a BIG block). and plus they are Alum. now a built ls7 short block could easily handle 9's... but the stocker is faily fragile.
And...carsismeZ06...you'd be dead wrong...Look up the quarter mile times...a c6 z06 would simply DESTROY a c4 zr-1 in EVERY category, including gas mileage...look it up bro....

it doesnt matter if you have cast pistons, 18% silicon content, or total forged pistons, you can still blow up a motor. forging a piston just means that it takes an extra bit of temp before it melts. depending on compression ratio, a 25 shot can shoot a nice hole through a piston...then the whole cyl wall is scratched like a motherfucker. or the sleeve depending what motor were talking about. go to school. get educated if you want to discuss engines. =)
I just want to say I have two friends who own a 90 and 91, and those vettes are quick. 32 valve 4 cam very fast car. it has amazing lungs. Both friends opted for the borla exhaust and it sounds great. i like this short vid.

my 84 z51 vette pulled a 1.02 g on the skid pad and its stock other than some new falken tires hell back in 83 when it was tested by car and driver it pulled a .95g bone stock thats higher than the new wrx they handle great
It maybe a late comment, but my ZR1 handles so well, I understand why so many C4's are wrapped around telephone poles because after a while you think you can take any turn as fast as you can go!
BTW, the ZR1 is wider with a slightly faster steering ratio & bigger tires/brakes than a standard C4.

The key numbers are like 25000 miles at an average speed of 173mph; then again at 20000, and 15000, and 5000 all incredible feats of endurance and speed. Nice car, built successfully as the best cornering car in the world. When the special Lotus division collaboration heads were added, GM made a car that set the standard that made the world take notice. I still like my C5 though^)
we have a normal LT1 C4, but theres just something about those early 90's vettes that makes them really special. those are my favorite vettes, for whatever reason. but i love anything with the ZR1 badge. that LT5 revved to 8 fucking thousand RPMs. king of the hill.

a stock 1990 to 1995 zr1 is a low 13 second car there is nothing you can do to change that.A stock z06 has been clocked in the high tens on stock tires and verified by track officials the guy who did it is furhman ranger ran 11.12 on stock rubber.

the new z06 wont run low 11s stock buddy, for that you have to modify the traction control system and the launch rev limiter. low 12s at best.
