  • Have to agree with fernando here. The show is just soul food. Hell I am a non American but I find myself enjoying the music. Music is one of those things, sure it may all sound different from place to place, but a lot of people enjoy it.

  • I'll keep it real I'm a Hip Hop head so that means I love all styles and genres of music created on Planet Earth (haven't heard Alien shit yet). Out of all the shows on HBO that I've seen (Sopranos/Wire/Carnivale) so far Treme has got to have the most soulful, head bobbing, passionate music that has so much rhythm that if I see people sitting at home watching an episode of Treme and they are NOT bobbing their head to the music there's something wrong with them seriously you can't be human!

  • The series is awesome so far, although like The Wire it sometimes moves slowly, but the series is overall really great and it tells an important story.

I want to be able this song, but I think it was remixed just for the trailer.

  • I don't normally shil this hard, but if you care about NOLA and American music and culture do not miss this series! My friend and colleague at Tulane's Hogan Jazz Archive discussed it a couple days ago - it's as close to Word as you'll get on the telly. Now, if they could only produce something this positive and uplifting about Detroit in the face of disaster I'd be a happy camper.

  • Today's Shakespeare, Brecht and all that.

    Tears in my eyes.

Haven't even seen the show yet LOL

  • What's the name of the tune they were playing at the parade near the start of episode 1?

  • @PhilippineMango It's called "Feel Like Funkin' it Up" by the Rebirth Brass Band

  • Genius how he managed to make so many characters' everyday lives so enthralling. There is drama, but what makes Treme so wonderful is the richness of the atmosphere in the show. There is just a constant wave of energy flowing through every scene from arguments between couples to musical performances, to cooking scenes. It's just fantastic.

  • I LOVE this show!

  • i saw a commercial for this today, and i'm trying to find the song that was playing...

it isnt this one, or any of of the other ones in the other trailers..

it sounded like it was just guitar or something..no words..

i know i've heard it before somewhere..

  • Looking perfect Mr Simon

  • The song used is "Ring Shout" , co-written by Wynton Marsalis & African drum master Yacub Addy. It's the first selection of their 2+hour work, "Congo Square" which premiered in Congo Square in New Orleans April 23, 2006. © Skaynes Music.

  • The Corner, The Wire, Generation Kill and now this, it's clear to me at least that David Simon is one of the greatest creators in the history of TV

  • Looks good, I shall be checking it out.

Wendell Pierce is a New Orleans native, I think? I remember him being in 'When the Levees Broke...'

  • The show is FINALLY here. AWESOME! I can't wait to see Khandi Alexander again

  • Blown away. Got done watching it and immediately updated my blog (my-two-sense). Can't wait till next week.

  • Sick

  • Can't wait.

  • what's the name of this song used?

  • Can't wait for this to start, awesome song too! Love NOLA music.

  • bunk! lester! but, yo String, where wallace at?

  • @michalmmajewski HAHAHA funny man, I wonder if they'll get Stringer in this series for a cameo. probably not lol

  • the song is Congo Square by Wynton Marsalis, but he re arranged it for Treme I think, since this exact same song does not appear nowhere like in here, it's killer indeed!

  • Don't be under any illusions, we are living in the presence of a genius in David Simon, and everyone he's gathered around him. One day when people look back at television as an art form, his works will be remembered like great novels. We are lucky to witness the impact and influence of these programmes, appreciate them now, and support them.

  • @HalSamuel TRUTH

  • @afrod123 lol priceless comment.

  • Looks just great!!!!

I've been dying for something after the Wire...
