@EllisEndye victims of (NMS) should receive more support and continued help through the challenges they may face in their life due to this reaction and the long term damage it creates. I just don't think they receive any help they need in the current system of health care funded by government.

I still have flashbacks of the affects of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. I have had increased challenges with my mental stability ever since Haldol caused me the allergic reaction NMS because it seems even after discontinuing the medication haldol, I still have flash backs of the drug reaction NMS to haldol. I wish they had recovery groups for people who have been damaged by the reaction NMS to help manage the flash backs.

@TheWhiteangel09 I understand what you are talking about, I have had many of the same problems and can't get any real help with the continued long term problems caused by (NMS).

I also had Neuroleptic malignant syndrome... Hell any drug that can cause that reaction no matter how rare should be stopped.

i have this disease 3 yrs ago and i was shocked that this is a rare kind.. is there to happen if i stop medication within the doctor premises ??

I was given Phenergan for some weeks before I was 2 and we believe I had NMS undiagnosed back then as I had all the symptoms as described but no one knew it was 1980  - instead they wanted to put me in a psyc ward and treated me for severe eczema/asthma, I had muscle rigidity, hallucinations, acidosis, hypertension, fever, everything; I survived as my Mum had the instinct to take me off all the drugs though she thought it was the colouring doing it. I have since had ME/CFS also.

I got NMS celexa can cause NMS, it is the only antidepressant that I know of that can and does. mine went untreated, all my muslces andligaments are damaged & still not on my medical records. I had acute dystonia 2 months later & left on drugs for another y ear doing more damage I don't know how I am still alive, I have ME/CFS since 1991. They did nothing to help me, instead they did everything to cover & not treat me. someone has this on their profile here and linked to me, thx 2 uploading

the real question is how come you can give a person 850mg of mellirill and the day they get out of the hospital go home and paint micheal angelos rome arch huh.The sad truth is people like this are usaully the most politically tortured in americas insane asylums,and out of spite by the pychiatric community are considered the most noted schizoprenics

i tried to go to college in 2003 and throw up pervouisivly every day from the drug zyperxa.I believed in conspiracys which led to more hospitaliztions which brought me back to the drug zyprexa. i was the equalivent of linda blair in the excorcist
