You have an excellent horse to work with, and he doesn't mind you as a beginner. I would just get into the basics of a two point before the jump and practice just riding around the yard at a trot or a canter in that two point. Then just focus on keeping your legs still when trotting and keeping your back straight.
I hope this helps, haven't jumped in ages either since I'm more into western now :)
wow that was amazing 4 a first timer jumping well done , sorry i dont wanto like tell you what 2 do or anyting but nxt time will you keep your feet closer to the horse it looks neater and gives you better balance but very very well done :DD
that was really good my first jump was a accident went i first got into ridding i got on the horse and my bro spooked it so it took of and jumped over a jump i thought i died lol
nice jump but give your horses head more freedom- well done though 4 your 1st time. my first jump was 2ft cause i had a stupid teacher but it got me jumping high in no time
Please, please don't put a green jumping rider and a green jumping horse together. Bad results 99.9% of the time. And do try to lean forward and get your weight out of the saddle a bit more, you are popping the horse in the mouth and getting left behind. Other than that, looks like you have great potential. You have a nice seat on the flat :]
it looked like you got a little left behind, but that happened to me for a really long time. it helped for me to get into 2-point a little early and shorten my stirrups. it eventually gets to be kinda 2nd nature.
to me the horse looked very well trained he was in frame, nice trot, and he/she did'nt hesitate the jump. Your posture was a little foward but over all you did well. when i was first learning i did the same thing.
are you a dressage rider because your sturups were at dressage length. if your not doing dressage then your sturups should go up because i saw that when you are posting you can barly get your ass out of the sadle to post. and when jumping tacking your ass out of the sadle if very important
i have no idea how long you have been riding, or if you are being trained, but its never good to put green and green together, you should really learn to jump on a trained horse for jumping, and have someone who is trained for jumping train your horse, and then jump together. but this, this is just fine for starters!
Looking good lol. i had my first jump yesterday and i swear i had the WORST position ever lol hahahahaha lol o well i will improve in time, as will you
that really was a great first jump, even if you have been riding for years!!! you could try to get more power in the run up to the jump, not speed just controlled power!! itll make it even better
Please fix your position before jumping

The leaning forward motion EquestrianPride16 was talking about is called two pointing, and is needed on all kinds of jumps!

just a suggestion, but you should lean forward in the saddle more when your going over the jump so your not pulling on the horses reins!

just a suggestion, maybe ur first jump shouldn't be some tires???????

you should canter to the jump next time. keep your figure together. and your first jump probably shouldn't have been so high
