Though I didn't go help I remember them asking volunteers to go help sandbag. I go to school in St. Cloud MN and I remember them taking bus loads of people everyday to go and help. I also know how scary floods can be I was in Winona when we got hit by a flood in 2007. I think I listen to the radio most of the night since many of my friends lived in areas that were getting hit badly. I think that you did a good job with the sandbagging and the video.
i live acutally in north fargo i watched them build that dike on second street, BEFORE it got bad they started that, then the shit hit the fan and sandbaggging came up, i helped in oak grove for over a week, just one hell of a memory, and this is so off the subject but the girl who made the video is very cute lol
Now looking at this in july its seems unreal that this happend i remember my school district asking all 8th graders to go help out with sandbagging i was like yes we can help. But i know my family and i prayed and prayed that we would get throught this and i praise god for letting us get throught this. This event shows how great out city not only for events like this but how strong we are as a community.
I'm in the Army in Ontario. My boss just did a staff check today to see who's available to go out there and help (lots of us are). We should be coming out there soon to give you a hand, we're on high alert. Stay safe and as dry as possible!!!
"The only dykes I see being built by you are in your bedroom. Get your ass off your bed and sandbag, sorry you can't get to West Acres."
Jezz man pay attention. She is making these v-blogs when she takes breaks. Making a four min. video each day is not going to effect the amount of sandbagging she can do. Plus it's a service to a lot of people who want to see what's going on.
I really like this video. I have tons of friends and family who go to Moorhead for college and Its good to be informed.
As for the people who keep making dumb remarks about dam building and stuff like that.. get a life. If you lived in Fargo or Moorhead or the surrounding areas it wouldn't matter how people are taking care of the flood, it would only matter that people were doing all they can. I'm sorry that you come on youtube and start arguments about serious situations. It's pathetic.
Hey dip shit we don't go through this every few years. The Last flood affecting the area was in '97. It was bad but nowhere as terrible as this could be... I suppose people in LA should move because of hurricanes or CA because of earthquakes? It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are an idiot, rather than opening it and removing all doubt.
I totally agree. I lived in Fargo since 96, the flood in 97 was supposed to be a 500year flood and now 12 years later the river goes 3 to 4 feet higher. People who don't have a clue need to open their eyes or shut up. Fargo and Moorhead have been trying to get the funding for more dikes but we all know how easy fed funding is. Leave these people alone, the stress and hard work that's gone into this doesn't need ignorance to slap them in the face
Boy, what a dork you are! I am quite sure that you weren't there sandbagging, were you. Probably a lazy ass. If you were you wouldn't post such a dumb comment. Where do you live?
I live in Duluth and no I wasn't there. I'll come and help when you guys decide to move your houses to HIGHER GROUND! No more state or federal funding for you!
Anyone who has the name "FuqBeotch" is a real winner and obviously thinks the world revolves around them. You would know HIGHER GROUND if you were smoking it! Man, could you be any dumber...I bet you wouldn't make a half day of sandbagging.
To FuqBeotch :The Red River Valley is all FLAT. There is no such thing as higher ground. Go pour a glass of water all over your kitchen table... .does it not go everywhere? Please grow some brain cells and then attempt talking smack.
And if you didn't help sandbag, you SUCK. Even my 7 year old kid helped.
I've watched all of your videos so far and have come up from the cities to help . I would like you to tell your friends they aren't alone. and god willing the water will crest lower then they think . God be with you and all yours and neighbors as well.
wow this is awesome to no .... i live in manitoba so the red river here is really high its already covering trees and we just had 39cm of snow in the past day so expect it to crest... we are trying here so hard to open up the floodway but the gate are frozen shut if they were open it would make the river level go down a bit more... BUT THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE

I wish the katrina victims had this kind of response and response time. Nursing home victims were evacuated properly for this event.
