I watched it. What does the treaty have anything to do with "ceding US sovereignty"? He says it's because "your constitution says that it takes precedent over your constitution". No, that's not what the Constitution says. The Supremacy Clause states that treaties are equal to federal laws and the Constitution, it doesn't say they override the Constitution.

Yeah historically the divide was between the conformists and non-conformists. I would argue the end of non-conformists being in power was Goldwater, but I don't know much about Buckley.
Reagan was a good president but the politicians after him are just too obsessed that it is creating unhealthy politics. He lived in a very different time and situation than today. It is good to honor him but we shouldn't try to go back to his day when we have to move forward.

I watched it. What does the treaty have anything to do with "ceding US sovereignty"? He says it's because "your constitution says that it takes precedent over your constitution". No, that's not what the Constitution says. The Supremacy Clause states that treaties are equal to federal laws and the Constitution, it doesn't say they override the Constitution.
If signing a treaty counts as ceding US sovereignty then we've been ceding it for 200+ years. How do we have any left to cede at this point?
