Heb zeer bijzondere herinneringen aan dit heerlijke stuk muziek. Stadhuis Arnhem, begin 70'er jaren. Het Gelders Orkest speelde dit fantastische stuk, mijn eerste concert dat ik als 10-jarig jochie meemaakte.

Toen moest hij het HORST WESSELLIED (Die Fahne hoch...) spelen met het Haags Residentieorkest ter gelegenheid van het huwelijksfeest van prinses Juliana met Bernhardt von Lippe,enz.
HIJ WEIGERDE dat fascistisch lied te dirigeren en vertrok uit de concertzaal ! Een ander heeft het stokje van hem moeten overnemen. De duitse gasten brachten de Hitlergroet.
