  • What whistle is on the 1225? It's not her Lima 5-chime.

  • I'm not certain what kind of whistle SRI had put on 1225 that day. I knew 765 had two that day, the Lima 5-Chime and N&W 611's whistle mounted near the smoke stack.

  • @jrahrig The Nathans are six-chimes, not fives. The 765 was carrying Frisco no. 1352's whistle, not N&W 611, in addition to her regular Nathan, which is actually off NKP no. 700.

  • Thanks for the information. Early on, some people have been telling me it was from 611, when in fact I found out later on it really came from SLSF 1352. I know the common name for that it is a "Steamboat" whistle.

  • @lynchpinpictures If you can tell us this about the 765, then what was the second whistle on the 1225 that she used for most of this trip. I know her Lima 5-chime never leaves the engine, but no one knows anything about her "guest whistle".

  • @lynchpinpictures what happened to 765s original whistlle

  • @Strasburg1991 It was damaged in the mid-to-late 60s when the engine was on display in Lawton Park and missing components.

  • @lynchpinpictures is it still there or is it all burned up
