  • AS Arlene McCarthy, Director of Metropolitan Transportation Services for the Met Council, plainly states, the $billion concrete project "essentially replace(s) the Route 50 limited-stop" bus service and "The (already overcrowded) Route 16, the local bus service, will continue, but not at the same (a reduced) frequency."

  • Why would someone hate trains so much.

Coleman probably wasn't paying attention during the meeting.

  • We're buying a tried and true infrastructure project that will have a huge multiplier effect for the Twin Cities. Not to mention a stimulus for the urban housing market.

  • Yeah - right. We'll get all of that while not helping transportation issues one bit. The people who use the line now it will not help significantly. The only way this is successfull is to change the neighborhoods it touches. It will need to change the populations and the structures to accomodate higher density housing and the business focus along the route. The current business will either need to relocate or they will fail.

  • Lame.
