I have not tried it. Currently the Carver is being upgraded with a hayabusa turbo engine! So it will be much much quicker in the future. However because it's a huge operation this will take some time to complete.

I am sorry, but you can't. This has something to do with import regulations. I do not know the details. However there is good news, there is a company in the states designing DVC carver technology into a new vehicle, especially for the US market. This will take a few years to complete I guess.

I'm referring not only to reliability, but to the whole picture, as to "fun to drive", road stability, fuel economy, design, quality of assembly, safety etc. etc. I'm not stating they all suck, but in general they are not as good as japanese or European builds, exceptions are possible. For example the Corvette is a good exception. So this is my opinion. But others may disagree with it, it's a free world!

Rover/ Sterling, Fiat, Alfa Romeo,Citroen, Peugeot, Renault all left the USA due to poor quality. I remember the UK press lamenting about how the SVT Focus was not available there. You made a generalization. In the quality department Land Rover and Mini at the bottom in 2008. JD Powers. Of course I take the time to look things up, and I owned a Cooper S and it had problems.

My dad did like US-cars, he had several ones. At that time I drove a BMW myself. Once I took his car and almost had an accident at the first bend I tried at half the speed I was used to. I say it's crap. When I was at Canada I rented a cadillac STS. When I left the freeway at 160km/h I had already trouble by just changing lanes, it took me al my driver-experience to keep it on the road. Apart from the Corvette, US cars are dangerous to drive.

So driving a car with bald tires is the cars fault? I drove my sister-in-laws Passat and it was dangerous, even with 4Motion and stability control it was all over the place, turns out the rear tires were down to the chords. Excessive rear tire wear is a common trait for the Passat B6/Audi A3 platform. You should check the tires before you drive any car. I could make a generalization and say "based on my experience ALL German cars are dangerous to drive." It would be the same reasoning you use.

So my opinion is not only by what I have heard or read but also by my own experience. I have rented others like a Ford explorer, Jeep, Pontiacs, they where all suffering from bad stability. You did buy a cooper S probably for the same reason, that you wanted to have a good driver experience, despite the fact you seem to have suffered from some problems I'm sure you did not have complaints about cornering with that car.

If you think US cars are that great why did you buy a mini anyway. Fuel consumption. I'm sure there will be US cars makes that suffer from trouble too, but I have no statistics about it. And my current Audi is giving me no trouble and great fun to drive, it will blast away any US car on a track and beside that gives excellent fuel economy. I will not even consider buying a US car, although they are cheap over here, but I like to stay alive. But still you can have a different opinion anyway...

"fabrieksmeting" zal ergens rond de 6,3 sec komen schat ik.
