extensions on Chrome sucks...(this include the chrome version of adblock)
by the way, when you are calling firefox a memory hog, try adding the numbers of memory used by all those chrome.exe in taskmanager, in most case chrome uses a lot more.
IE 9 is actually quite fast and stable, even with tons of ads on the website.
(just don't install useless activex on it)
Opera has tons of functions, you just have to know how to configure it properly.
@j6331 It's true that chrome can use a lot of memory, but by splitting it up it manages it alot better, and the adblock plus extension has been improved! A good extension is turn off the lights for youtube, it dims the white background to focus on the video!
@jwdesign336 "Firefox is a memory hog, only if user installs add-ons that uses a lot of memory; Opera need more extensions similar to that of Firefox, not more functionality; Chrome is ugly and the extensions aren't as good as on Firefox mostly, but it's fast and efficient; and everything Microsoft-related should die." FTFY
@MrShoy No, that's not how it works. If you search for Grid Tube on a Mac, it says "could not find any matching add-ons", but on a Windows machine it finds it. Simply having firefox does not mean that addon's made by others should work, it depends on what that addon does and how it accomplishes it.
When I say Chromium
I mean the windows version SRWare Iron.
just in case you don't know...Google Chrome is a fork of. Iron

@jwdesign336
well, it doesn't matter, splitting them up is for safety, if one crashes, others stay.
its not really about memory, since these apps now support multi-cores, memoery management isn't the problem.
*I have installed IE9, Firefox, Chromium(I don't like the google version) and Opera
At the end, I only use different browser for different purposes
Firefox website that can make use of addons. *(Most sites)
Opera for website that I have to have JavaScript disabled. (Its the fastest)

if IE 9 has a adblocker similar to the one on firefox
I would choose IE 9 over Firefox.
