  • sound effect in the begin of the video please ?? link download or source !

  • Don't believe me? Call the cops, here's my address. Lol, the line was perfect. out of a movie scene.

  • Dude, You should do stand-up. Like my videos

  • When I adjust them nothing happens in the preview screen either and when I play it back there's no change.

  • Any tips for color correction on low-light clips? I need to edit a couple of shots taken in low light as they've come out dark blue and full of picture noise! :S

  • Thanks for this so much dude. Now I can make my videos look theatrical on my 50" 1080p TV and for posting stuff on my youtube channel.

  • What about nature scenes? If I shoot a forest or grassland scene, I have a lot of green colour there. Do I use red colour correction anyhow or should I rather use green or a totally different colour? I know it always depends individually but I was wondering if there's kind of a proper allround solution.

  • @Allroundmoviemaker Always make the color correction the same. Because in 70mm film it's always the redish purple and it will still look fantastic.

  • Ahh So your address begins with 2 I'm getting their then...

  • You should upgrade from windows xp, windows xp is 10 years old now

  • it looks as if someone stole a black mans McDonalds

    He is running

    Black Guy: Oh HEYAL NAW!

That is wat it looked and sounded like.

  • fun box ftwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!111111

  • starts at 2:00

  • Hey man.. when i tried to adjust the video in those black baras.. later when i play the video the black bars floted up/down.. that really doesn't look cool.. How can i fix it? please help

  • Does this work when you have more scenes at the same time?

  • great vid u r very funny im so subscribing!

  • ONE TIP: Use 24 fps :)

  • great guys :) thanks for tutorial :D

  • Lol! Pleasing, and happy, and uhh intimate.

  • good techniques ye but when i did it i put the mid corrector circle up toward yellow looks really good you should try it out

  • Great stuff!

  • It looks much more intimate. Yup.

  • AWESOME!!

  • Just sent you one of my vids. I followed your tutorial. Let me know what you think.

  • How the hell did you get your video preview to playback so smoothly? Mine lags down to like 9fps when I am playing back.

  • Hey dude. Great tutorial. Question, I am using the Canon 7D which you may know has different picture styles (landscape, portrait, bla bla)

I've heard people mention a 'superflat' setting, designed to give you more headroom in editing. but I also like the 'marvel cine' setting which I downloaded. Which is the best to go for? I am using Vegas Studio 9 to edit. thanks.

  • Thumbs up if you noticed he was using a trial version of Vegas :D

  • @bruvvamoff stop asking for thumbs up its annoying

  • @kegcheck Thumbs up to that.

  • Awesome video man. Very helpful.

  • doesn't look like film. Use film.

  • happy ughhhhhh intimateughhh lmao

  • 1280 x 544 is the right aspect ratio for 2.35 why make it not right?

    Nice tutorial anyway!

  • AW HEYALL NAW!

  • BEST TUTORIALS EVER

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! This helped me make my school video stand out so well!

  • 18 people are color blind ...

  • THANKS A BUNCH

  • 9 minutes, could have been taught in 45 seconds... hurry it up faaak

  • @CLAV777 I agree.

  • what about those two black bars, they are unnecessary, wouldn't it be better to set the resolution of a project at the beginning to widescreen and then match the view with the scaling ? just my thoughts ;)

  • thnks man appriciate it

  • you're too popular for youtube or you need to talk to your mom O.o

  • Thanks for this! I did a bit of experimenting and tried a green tint; now my film looks miles better! :D

  • I just right click my clip, properties-General and somewhere on there you can select 1080p i believe. Cba to check :P

  • My Frame box doesent Dragup?

  • Thank Man you Help me cause my Digital Cam Has a Very very Dark Vedio Quality but very dinamic contrast and good colour. and Again Awa Hell Noooo!!!!!

  • Will this work in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 9 or just in the Pro Version?

  • when i render it the black things on the sides dont show. WHAT.?

  • 18 people dislike movies

  • Can you make a tutorial on how to deal with video lag when using HD videos?

  • @ANocturnalWar turn the preview to draft quarter :)

  • @ANocturnalWar Turn the preview down todraft - quater, which will make the preview have less quality, and highlight what bit you want to see, shift+b to pre-render it. Let it run through automaticly then watch it.

  • This really helped me man thx :) ! ! ! ! !

  • ur dum tell how to use it stop tryna be funny ass

  • I laughed like 7 times during this vid.

Looks like some one pooped on it" lol!

Speaking of which, what was the point of the grain?

  • here's a short comedy sketch I did using the film look and adding in some a glow effects for white

    youtube.com/watch?v=SfTwXaEY6i4

  • cool

  • i love the cross on ur car but the only words spoken is AWW HELL NAH

  • AH HELL NO!!! haha nice one :)

  • i still don't get why u can't pan/crop the whole collection of clips at the same time...

  • Thanks!

  • Ahh Hell Naw

  • thx !

  • lol looks like someone pooped on it :D

  • Thanks for the video. Your video did not exactly look like a hollowood clip, but your tutorial gave a very very good insight on what should we play with in the video!!! thanks again

  • try vignette, less saturation, more contrast, de-interlancing, MORE blue for a cold or sad scene , more orange or red for a warm feel ... what you just done has no relevance and no sense at all

  • I always run into you when it comes to sony vegas tutorials. XD

  • dude, helpful tutorials, and you make them hilarious. great job!

  • it doesn't look any different....

  • @ccburgett You didn't notice the saturation changes and the black bars?

  • after a couple tweaks I got it to look good but lesson learned don't! do this when using clone effect!!!

  • i don't usually laugh while watching youtube videos. that made me laff. :D

  • Next time try lowering saturation, maybe lowering the Gama, and screw around with Contrast. Then export 24 fps. :-D. The color correction thing is bogus sir.

  • Very usefull! Thanks alot!

  • Your car's hood is crooked. Or is it slightly open? o,0

  • just buy a letus adapter

  • I think that "F" stands for frame... :)

  • whenever i try to preview my video on the top right video screen it seems like its slow. is that how it is with urs? will it still play regular like how it should when i burn it onto a dvd or will it be slow like how the preview is on here?

  • @seanNdrea It won't be slow if you burn a DVD or post a Youtube video. The reason your video is running slow is because you probably have the render quality set at either "Best" or "Good". Switch to "Preview" or "Draft" and it should run smoothly. Another problen could be that you have your render quality set to "Full" in any of the "Best" through "Draft" options. Set it to "Half" or "Quarter". Also, your video may have too many effects. The more the effects, the slower the preview will be.

  • @retread01 lol of course it does not look like film. It was filmed from a home video camera. It it just some creative color correction....

  • @braproductions feels like something too simple, i can toy around with vegas and mabey get more things out of it, the point in film making is toexpariment forsome new cool things, I dont think this is beneficial to the vegas editing comunity

  • @braproductions I think he was expecting old film, black and white, or something.

  • @retread01 i agree with you

  • @retread01 stupid

  • @retread01 you are not so smart!

  • talking too much shit! just go ahead with what's important., nice tut thought,

  • To better results, download NewBlueFX for sony vegas

  • lol at 1:31 when you said "no just kidding im not really gonna give you my address to arrest me" you sounded like owen wilson xD nice video man helped me alot!! :D

  • thanks bro ive been wanting to do this since i been born lol THANKS BRO

  • Films aren't always purple! They use different colors to express the feeling of the film! for example...a person died, They would use dark colors

  • The frame rate should be 24fps

  • what was the angle and magnitude for low, mid, and high for your preset "Film"

    because that looked really good

  • What format should i render in for this?

  • @melvinmakProductions From my understanding if your trying to do HD, its MPEG-2 it's what I use.

  • @melvinmakProductions From my understanding if your trying to do HD, its MPEG-2 it's what I use.

  • @melvinmakProductions From my understanding if your trying to do HD, its MPEG-2 because it has the best quality, it's what I use.

  • hey uh hi how can u cut something out in a picture and move it with the event/pan crop tool?????

  • dude also lower the frame rate a tad bit, i find 28 fps really good, it makes it look less like a home video...

  • ehhh.... one question when i render it as WMV-720p-25 fps

it gets normal size(the pan crop) and it looks normal and not like a movie any more

how can i save it as widescreen in 720p-25 fps HD

  • ehhh.... i didnt see any difference

  • "Makes you video look ah.. like someone pooped on it" lol funny guy. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • A little color correction was used on a vid on my channel with Sony Vegas as well.

  • and happy.. and .. 0.0

    lol

  • Good color correcting techniques but i really alway rely on lighting compared to changing the color

  • Thanky very cool:)

  • thanks this helped

  • can you leave me your settings in a reply

  • The aspect ratio you're looking for is actually 2.35:1

  • uhh when i do event pan crop i turn the aspect ratio thingy off but when i move it its zooms in some then puts the black bars in how do i not make it zoom?

  • like someone poop on it XD

    hahahahahah

  • Thanks a lot man. Keep up the good work with this stuff. You're about the only guy I can find who does this type of tutorial work in Vegas, so this really helps me. I made this video before I watched your tutorial, but lemme know what you think anyways.

I entered a 72 hour film-making contest, and my video response was my group's submission. I used Vegas Pro 8.0 (now have 9.0) for the editing, and will use your techniques to help with all future projects.

    Thanks again!

  • Wow! Thanks alot! I spent a month trying to find out how to get the "widescreen look" (black bars) And as you cansee, until now i nvr found out. :p

  • when i do the pan crop thingy it zooms in a little first then does the black bars on the top help me please and yes i turned the aspect ratio off too

  • Is this Pro 9?

  • @SasukeCaramelldansen yes man

  • oh thnx

  • F

Rather than Fun id of thought...

    Focus

    Film

    Frame

  • hey, I'm a cinematographers assistant. It will look better if you add the colour cast/filter to the midtones or the shadows , otherwise it just looks flat. Also there's one thing that cant be replicated and thats depth of field. And also there is so many different types of film or chemical processes that give it it's cinematic look. :)

  • Real movies uses same ratio for the frame size. For a HD format, i use 1280 x 516

  • whoowhoo thanks so much that was helpful.

  • The key to getting a movie look perfect is the audience to realise it's a movie without thinking about it.

  • AWW HELL NAW

  • i've found that taping off my lcd when filming into 2:35 works well when cutting the video in post, so my shots dont change. Great tutorial btw!

  • aww hell naw

  • very clear voice sir

  • You have the voice of a comedian :P that's awesome XD lolz

  • Can you upload the RAW footage ? so everyone can post his result. :)

  • first of all you are HI LAR I OUS!!! You have grea tips too...question...do you recommend sony vegas over final cut and do you recommen that I get either for laptop or desktop...thank u :)

  • AW HELL NAW

  • lol call the cops

  • That's F for Frame.

  • like someone pooped on it lmao

  • lol the F stands for frame.

geez. but fun works just as well

  • I tough it was mine phone, lol

I was like "who the hell calls 23:40 at night?! :P

  • helped A LOT!!!!

I looked a long time for a tutorial for color correcting...thanx!!

  • thats a vegas 9.0 trial?

  • my camera shoots all letterboxy like that already do i still have to all that frame resizing stuff

  • How do you get your hypercam to such high quality?

  • i recommend you use camtasia studio. It is way better than hypercam, it has automatic pan and zoom. ITS AWESOME!!!

  • it does it by itself. even my hypercam is high quality nd i haven't done anything to make it look high quality. dis guy probably rendered da vid in high quality.

  • AAHELNA.

  • thats cool Im gonna try this in my next film :D

  • Hey bra, have you noticed that in Sony Vegas 9 that when you play a video, it always gets choppy? What's up with that? It never did that on the previous version.

  • u should really zoom in so we could see what numbers you're settings r....but thx for the vid :D

  • how old r u

  • i cant drag my clips in to the timeline can someone help me????????

  • go to file, import media, then drag the clip into the timeline. if that doesn't work right click where there should be a timeline and select create timeline then repeat then first step.

  • i have tried all of thath it does not work for me

  • i am not sure what else you could do

  • @teddyfeddy122 Hum, make sure you have a proper video file that Vegas supports. When you drag the file in, does it just show a black circle with a line through it?

  • yes it shows that thing and it uses avi right??

  • i think it is a different file TRY USING A video file converter it works

  • wanna edit a game movie for me ;)?

  • You built a new PC and your still using windows XP?

    whats your specs

  • @liascm Yeah i love XP, it is simple and the easiest to run. But it really is not amazing, i tried to build it for under $500. Intel Q9300 2.6GHz Quad core with 4GB of DDR3 ram. I also have a Radeon X1600 graphics card, but i will probably upgrade that soon.

  • Wndows 7 is awesome man! much better than XP and is as simple to use as XP, i would recommend it ;)

  • i dont think you need the @(name of account) thingie xD

  • the origian footage was already in widescreen, you just need to change the project settings. and there are presets for 16:9 already

  • @Borzekes Yes the original footage was in 16:9, but we changed it to anamorphic wide screen which is 2.35:1

  • There is too much confusion about what constitutes "widescreen." 16:9 translates to roughly 1.76:1, 1.85:1 is what most films are shot in (non-anamorphic) and 2.35:1 (or 2.40:1) is 1.85:1 with 1.25x anamorphosizer. Do a wikipedia search for anamorphic and you will see what I am talking about.

  • thanx bro!! 5/5! BTW: why do u have the trial version? :D

  • @MrMusic95 Good question. I just built myself a new computer. Might i say it is sweet. But it is so cool that it elad me to lose my sony vegas 9 cd. Haha, so for now i am just using the trial. Hopefully i can find it in time.....

  • how do u make ur own computer? lol

  • @PS3Insight Lol, you can build custom PC's. Its fun and way better than buying from a manufacturer

  • He has installed Modern Warfare 2 in his pc you can see it in desktop.

  • wtf is the point by saying that?
