The model shots would always impress me on SP, some really great examples of them here! Accompanied by the fantastic music from the show, where on earth (or altor) did you get it from?
I love the cityscapes.. very "Blade-Runner-ish"! Beautiful work, especially considering the low budget nature of a TV show. I understand even stuff like cereal boxes and stuff were used for buildings? The FX are a lot more interesting to look at than that crap they did on that NEW Battlestar Galactica show. Oh yeah... that's right the new BSG was all CGI. Sometimes a LACK of technology and budget makes for better creativity, hence a more interesting look overall.
Damn, Space precinct had its problems but ive never remembered the fx being that good. Ive really gotta watch these again. The fx looks better than Star trek.
Just my opinion but I think every episode of the show had at least one small vfx sequence that was on par with the best of Hollywood at the time. It seemed to be something of a dry run for a lot of imagery that appeared in later movies like GoldenEye & Lost In Space (Matador 2D effects, inserting actors into model sets), supervised by the same folk.
I still prefer SPolice because of it's art direction & in my opinion more consistent look across all departments. Although that was just a pilot.
Very Cool!!

Oh, and thanks also for keeping the camera steady and not jerking it all over the place like they do today to cover up their crappy work.

Shame the Live action on this show suffered from cheap looking costumes and sets...
