@Muzzer27 These fights are staged, just like American pro wrestling. The difference is, in American pro wrestling, some of the moves (like punches) are simulated so the performers don't get hurt. The moves here are full-contact and real, they're just intentionally taken to tell the story.

the best way to desribe the uwfi is legit pro wrestling...it was a shoot fight company that had legit matches but with pre determined endings...it was a great promotion...i remember ordering it on ppv back in the day like early 90's and being totally blown away...

I've only recently started watching it but I think it's awesome. Being fed up with the lack of realism in pro wrestling nowadays and bored stupid by UFC this is a great alternative. Sure, the winners are still predetermined but the action is brutal.

Well, they make it look like a contest anyway and I like that. I enjoy the WWE for what it is but they are getting progressivley more ridiculous with every passing year. This style and WWE are both just entertainment and not "sport" per sai, but I take'em for what they're worth...when I want real combat sports, I watch MMA and often, these wrestling styles are more "entertaining". peace

they are called stiff worked matches which have fixed outcomes but the contact is real.I thought they were real too until I grappled myself.

thanks for the info. I have learned a lot since posting that message. I was told by the promotion that these were not predetermined matches, and since the strikes were really landing, I believed it. Overall, I think I still like this approach better than the WWE stuff because for my wrestling enjoyment, I like the "idea" that it's a real match and not a stage performance...even if it is
