All of the riders stuf is transported in these boxes from bivouac to bivouac (correct me if i'm wrong).

@razorflown2 That was last year because there were some French killed by terrorists and more threatened. I travelled to Portugal to see the first stage anly to be told it had been cancelled when I arrived. It's now held in South America.

@AJsfree2toke He died, during the dakar in 2006. He was riding on one of the bikes for KTM - Repsol and on the 6th or 7th stage i thought, he came of and broke his neck.

He was riding that year, without any preparation or anything because he got a phone call something like 2 weeks before starting the dakar, to replace an injured rider.
