@Toxmonster Bungie says the ODSTs were directly influenced by Starship Troopers, and if you've seen the Japanese OVA of Starship troopers by the guy who made Gundam released in the 80s, the helmets are identical to the Halo Combat Evolved helmet. Pretty wierd that something so iconic can be ripped off, and so few people know about it, right? I love Halo though, so it doesn't bother me, I see it more as a cool tribute. I made my own Mobile Infantry for Reach. :P

@lokfuwong Oh yeah I forgot about that one, It's Heavy Gear, I was playing Mechwarrior at the time so I was really into it. Other cgi's that i remembered are Max Steel, Action Man and Hot Wheels Acceleraters, but those aren't that great. Action Man>Max Steel. What I really liked about hot wheels was the music from an asian dude on his radio, but only that, since they were shows for kids, it was full of cheesy dialogues and simple goals (more that i could tolerate)

for everyone asking if the transport is a queen, or how the queen birthed it. if you read the book it talks about the bugs geneticaly changing and upgrading themselves to be stronger and adapt better to other places. they even had lasers, they were weeker than the MI, but still enough to kill you. so this might have just been "grown in a lab" rather than birthed by a queen.

It's not. In the novel, the Mobile Infantry uses power armor. They have jet packs and they jump from place to place. They don't need vehicles. The soldiers in Starship Troopers are walking tanks. They have powerful weapons like flamethrowers, nukes, and other future tech. In short, you could consider them the perfect soldiers.

They don't have shields or plasma guns. They might have laser weapons though, since the novel was written a long time ago, don't expect there to be a whole lot of stuff you see in videogames. However, Starship Troopers inspired Halo, Tiberian Sun and pretty much anything that has power armor. The US Marine Corps even has it as mandatory reading for officers.

There is trace atmo on Pluto during certain periods of its orbit. It might also have something to do with gravity. The transport bug did have gravitational coefficients (see next campaign) attached to it, so it might have been able to propell itself using its gravitational pull against Pluto's.

Thats because the movie is a retarded satire of World War 2 War bonds propaganda. While the Book and to a certain extenet, the series, is about what it might ACTUALLY be like. As modern militaries have advanced through the years, operational units have gotten smaller, more elite, better trained, and highly specailised, the thousands and thousands the died in World War 2 and Vietnam are deemed unacceptable as we go further into the future of warfare.
