  • #1 Lee Shepherd / Reher-Morrison Took Pro Stock by Storm with the World Title!

  • great vid, thanks.

  • absoutely awesome. good old days how it should be. great pics. thankyou!

  • Bob Glidden is THE king of Pro Stock.

  • @ellroyblues72 agreed!!! Bob Glidden is DA MAN when it comes to Pro Stock Racing.

  • Only in the USA could the Muscle car be born. We use to say things like they will never stop making the muscle cars. Well they did stop the production but the muscle car never died. They are here today, I have a 68 RR 542ci 900hp 4linked 1/8 mile ride. A 71 100% rust free Challenger Im planning to Hemi cloan.

  • Nova man thanks for your pic, I love to reminisce on the old days. My brother and I had a ss/c hemi dodge and we were always referred to by the locals as the Hemi boys. I absolutely was thrilled with every muscle car from those days. We had a small speed shop on broadway of our town.. We would be working on our hotrod at night getting ready for the week end and someone would pass by with a new muscle car just purchased. Often that person wopuld come in and show off their new ride.

  • Thanx for the memories.. I used to watch a lot of racing in the 70's and 80's at SIR.. Seattle International Raceway's... love the pro stock class the best.. back then they all looked different... real people ... not big business... ;)))

  • My Dad's Cougar at 4:07! Crazy. Memories...

  • Reher Morrison Shepherd, Glidden, Iaconio, and Da' Grump were the best ever in Pro Stock. Great job of capturing all the greats.

  • Hey John! It's difficult to tell what is better-the pictures or the music! Awesome! Would you be willing to sell me copies of some of these reat pictures?

  • Wow, swell video! Are all your pics from Martin?

  • @TheNovaMan The pictures were taken at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Central Michigan Dragway, Brainerd Intl. Raceway as well as Martin. Thanks for watching!

    John

  • @TheNovaMan HEY MAN GREAT STUFF, BUT THE REAL DRAGRACING DIED WHEN NHRA STARTED MAKING RULES TO EVEN UP THE COMPETITION. OUTLAWING THE HEMI TO NOT EVEN COMPETE IN PRO STOCK SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE HEAD. HAVE YOU SEAN THE EMPTY STANDS TODAY.

  • @HEMIBOYS Yeah, the other thing I didn't like was allowing the Lenco clutchless transmissions.

  • hi there im restoring the john hagen arrow and i need pictures of the engine compartment, interior, and trunk. Any Help would be greatly apreciated. thank you

  • I loved the F-Body Pro Stocks from the day. . .:-)

  • Awesome pics man, definitely the best pro stock era!

  • Some nice classic shots, Back in the days of real cars & unrealistic weight brakes.

  • rip shorty palmer owner of joe lepones car

  • You did all the music for this ? If So, well done !!

  • @Beano4u Yes that's me justa jammin' away. Thanks for the compliment! It means a lot!

    John

  • Every Pro Stock bodystyle they had back in the 80's to the mid 90's were some of the coolest cars to hit the race track.

  • Great Great video. The good old days.

  • Wish they had some of these cars at the hot rod reunion in bowling green ky this year i go every year its a site to see. My dad tells me all the stories about pro stock class and it is my favorite class in the nhra drag racing series.

  • exp was so ugly , it was cute

  • Nice stuff, Back in the day when they looked like cars. I like the early 70s before the tube frames and clutch-less trans helped average drivers become Pros. Great Video. Thanks

  • I was at the US Nationals the first year they ran the Pro Stock class. It was funny watching all those cars doing dry hops! They looked like a bunch of leap frogs! It sure was cool to watch them power-shifting down the track! I miss those days! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    John

  • @jrsn2cars I love this video and a perfect choice of music. Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks a lot! I'm a little rusty but youtube has forced me to dust off my guitars and make my own soundtracks. I'm glad you don't hate it :-) Thanks for watching!

    John

  • I named my daughter after Lee Shepherd after meeting him at Columbus, Ohio during the Springnationals in the late 1970's

  • I so remember Bob Glidden and the Reher-Morrison cars

Part of my genetic makeup thanks to my stepdad and his brothers

  • yeah i like these old pro stocks the new ones just do anything for me just that theyre still big motors with carbs yeah but they dont look like anything you can buy on the showroom floor

  • i appreciate how pro stock still uses the traditional high revving carbed' big blocks, and uses stock tail lights and headlights too i think?....but back in the day, the bodies were the actual shape of the car. where as now, the bodies are shaped quite a bit differently than 20 years ago.

  • back in the day, the cars WERE real cars. dont know about the 80's, but yes thru the 70's

  • exactly. I think sometime in the mid '80s it changed to tube chassis'

  • I have to give you props. This is the era I grew up in, watchin' the Pro Stockers. Any one remember Don Carlton (Mopar Missle) Judy Lilly? I rate the video 5 stars

  • I was suprised to read that the car Don Carleton died in was actually buried afterwards! Weird, but true.

  • awesome video it brought back the good old days.

  • larry morgan will developing a new ford pro stock powerplant for 2010... look out for the blue oval!

  • This is awesome, thanx for posting!

  • What a GREAT video! Made me kinda sad, and feelin' kinda old all at once!

  • Awesome video! You know who my favorite was.

  • Thanks!

Lee Shepherd was a class act too! RIP

I miss the Reher and Morrison team.

    Thanks for watching!

    John

  • Well, Ford is back nowadays with the Mustang. I don't think they're very successful yet though.

  • Bob Glidden will forever be the greatest pro stock driver!

    John

  • Excellent! I even caught a glimpse of Lee Hunter's Mercury Zephyr, what memories....

  • Man this brought back so many killer memories :)

I love the 70's era of pro stock, always will. I was a kid then and my dad took us to a lot of races out at the old Baylands Raceway in Fremont California, where NHRA used to hold the Golden Gate Nationals.. damn, time goes by too fast.

Excellent pictures and slideshow man, really very cool.. and finishing it up with Glidden and Shepherd was perfect :)
