This has been a glorious day for me, living in the Hawaiian Islands and listening to songs of my roots sung from the heart. But I want my sister around awhile so I can listen to her. I am a nurse and we do gastric bypasses every week and I see the results, one nurse was confined to a motorized wheelchair on oxygen no two years later, no wheelchair or oxygen back at work her wt loss was phenomenal, my sister had it done too 6 yrs ago and looks great now

It's amazing how Twinkie and Marvin Winans have mastered the art of singing these kinds of songs with little to almost no VIBRATO.

You can almost count the times that she used her vibrato but yet holds your attention through the whole song. Talk about vocal control. Amazing!!!

A vibrato is a change in pitch. An enhancement in notes.

In order to properly produce the sound of vibrato you would have to waver slightly over and under the note intended. When done at a consistant paceit gives the impresion that the note itself is 'shaking'.

It's something like that. The target note is right, but you go slightly above and under the note like a siren, but not as drastic because you will sound like a siren. lol. Balance it just slightly. It takes practice to get it right, but It will come to you.

Actually vibrato is not produced by wavering between notes. Wavering quickly from note to note can be considered a turn or a trill (if its just two notes. My former teacher, (world reknowned teacher and pedagogue) Richard Miller used to tell us, vibrato is a result rather than a technique. When the voice is free of tension, breath-centered, pitch-centered and resonant, vibrato emerges; it is not taught.
