  • 40mph flying fail!!!

  • I knew BF3 was missing something

  • Well lets see a lift off and landing!! Doesnt work!

  • Great. We've been reading about flying cars and worshipping them for decades and a random indian tribe gets to use it before we do.

  • Any one else want to jump it off a huge cliff and try to get the chute open fast enough?

  • As a missionary, travelling to remote places I could take this with me as cargo. then have a vehicle to drive, notice the indians , they live in the jungle, not just off the paved road , this vehicle will take off in no to 15 knots wind and land in such, this vehicle would not be flown higher than 3000 ft or less probably. if a line snaps its ok , if 20 lines snap there is a parachute that will shoot out as a reserve and land the whole thing straight down, driveable unless you land in a tree

  • Disney police wouldnt let you on the property with it I work there and Florida police would pull it over as soon as they see it ..

  • right off the first thing I see is how low this flyin car sits. It dosent need to be low for flyin but does for bumpy terrain

  • Almost there, but at $80,000 for a skeletal metal frame that flies so slow and keeps you exposed to the elements, I'm not convinced of it's practicallity. Seems more like an expensive hobby than a revolutionary vehicle meant for everyday use. And in the video, it looks as though you need a windy day to fill the canopy wing before flight. What if there is no wind that day? I notice the video shows plenty of driving (pointless) and a little flying, but what about an actual take-off?

  • what a piece of shit, stuck if traffica this wont get u out L0L

  • Kudos to him for giving it quite a successful attempt. This is one of the first steps to that flying car future world.

  • Like this idea a lot, still at $80K its not every mans car. You can place your emphasis in two areas on these, flying or driving......Steve has brilliantly chosen to make a vehicle that is roadable, with the utility of slow flight (40mph) over obstacles in a relatively easy machine to land. Other vehicles sound fine until you imagine yourself in one with folding wings on a turbulent day at 7,000ft and then the idea may lose some of its allure.........lol..........

  • how much?

  • @xboxplaya124 80k

  • I wonder if his father was chronicled in the movie "The End of the Spear"?

  • @liverqiconstraint not only was his father chronicled, Steve Saint, the inventor was the boy in the movie. You can google Mincaye and see him and steve talk.

  • Great mind, great car, humble man

  • what if a couple of canopy lines snap, or canopy gets twisted?.

  • HOT

  • I wonder whether this design couldn't be improved by using an auto-gyro as the "wing" rather than a wing-shaped canopy. You could have much lower take-off and landing speeds.

  • @scottbieser Isn't the canopy what makes it practically road-able. The fact that it can be tucked nicely in the roof

  • Oh. My. Gosh. I want one!! Great job, Steve Saint!

  • way to go Steve Saint! Just so the fans know, this is the same son depicted in the Awesome & True movie "The End of the Spear"

  • Stupid Japanese stick to economic, electric, hybrid land cars and loose such great opportunity! USA USA USA USA :)))))))

  • pretty cool.

  • i want to be an engineer too. i know its the first car to fly and everything but there seems to have a lot of flaws in this.

    1. you wouldnt have enough road to take off like how he said in traffic and at disney world

    2. you can only take off horizontally

    3. you need to reach a certain speed to take off

    4. it would be hard to land in certain places

  • @R3dBirdMAN93

The landing aspect is always gonna be an issue. And even if it becomes the case that the average person can afford a flying means of transport; What happens when we all start having flying car accidents? Personal flying devices just aren't practical until they become practically infallible. Long way to go.

  • As an aero engineer, there have been many other attempts, this is the first flying car that really excites me, and appears practical..

  • good stuff.
