  • His hand fumbling around at 0:50 reminds me of senior prom.

  • 0:55 If I can slide my hand so far inside -almost reaching the end where that chain is latched), why do I need this trick?

  • @elazeez Because the chain is stretched out at that point so you won't be able to get it to the open end.

  • @CixAx

    Oh yes... my bad.

    Thanks for pointing out.

  • Lol, it's funny when your hand tries to feel for the rubber band, and also the twang sounds the rubber band makes. And then it snaps in your hand at the end... ouch, HAHA!!!!

  • long string, tie it to the lock, close the door partially, slide the string above the door and pull.

  • Our door knob is round.

  • Man breaks into house and is shot and killed. Story at 11:00.

  • looks like thing from the adams family lol

  • Did you ever see how lock plugs are produced?

Check out the Video onto the MikronTube.

  • ➊ You'd have to ensure you got the right size rubber band for the job, as you'd have to get the tautness on the elastic correct so that when you shut the door the rubber band snaps back enough to pull the chain off. Bear in mind you can't just get a really thin taut band because it might break

➋ You'd have to have sufficient leverage from the door handle - what if it was a knob or short handle?

✪ This info wud b impossible to know (for sure) beforehand.

  • @dredericktotem1245

Still, security flaws are security flaws and this probably works on many set ups. I just find it cool how he came up with a creative solution to the problem.

  • Well Hell! Ain't that slicker than yellow socks on a red rooster!

  • hahaha epic

  • those doors lock when you close them even if you don't want them too. if the door is open like that wouldn't it make more sense to force it in, instead of making that racket?

  • Ill bet using bolt cutters will break that chain lock. And as for the 12 guage shot

gun make sure you wearing some heavy duty body armor and armored riot control shield?

  • Why don't you use a screwdriver and unscrew this?

  • You need to practice. I totally had enough time to shoot you.

  • I have lockace swing door guard on all my rental properties.

  • Chain locks are not reliable. Try breaking into lockace. you can see the video on youtube just type lockace

  • Wow, thats awesome!! :)) Now I have to be careful when in a hotel room though... >^< Maybe i'll just really close and lock the door!! ^^''' ~

  • you clearly look retard when you do this x)

  • why the HELL would anyone upload this kinda stuff for people to find???

  • B&E is not your thing. consider another job

  • @naud1234

You could have a mag scanner+writer and write the correct code to a card to bypass lock. P

Or you could climb a ladder and go through the window

  • Yes, it's easy. But couldn't you just slide the chain to the right yourself? If you could put the rubber band around the door handle you could also just slide the chain yourself. And you forget that the door itself has a lock and not only a chain and you need the right card for it.

  • TerribleTheo put the band around the door handle his hand went right by the chain mechanism, he could've just reached in and slid the chain!!!! What a horrible video

  • @DMaverick50 That's not how chain locks work. If you open the door a bit the chain gets taut and you can't slide it back.

  • by the gods did it break? lol nice vid, buuuut i don't think mayn hotels use chains, except when i was in china

  • This is why they don't use chains anymore. It's better to use a U-bolt. And I've seen some pretty strong ones.

  • anyone else find it creepy when he sticks his whole goddamn arm around the door. hell this skinny guy can probly fit his whole body in.

  • Best way to burglarize a hotel room

  • You know when this is not useful? When you can't even fit your hand through the damn door. I am legitimately trying to get into my apartment (room mate thought I wasn't going to be coming home tonight, put the latch on the door and won't wake up now) and now I'm stuck out in the hall until morning because my hand won't fit through.

  • @PeePeeAtTheCostco With full access to the internet but to access to a way of contacting your roommate.....

  • @dopeyFinn - Ever heard of smartphones? The rest is still plausible. Some people are sound sleepers and, for instance, in my apartment, my bedroom is at the back, and I sometimes don't hear people knocking from there when I'm awake.

  • This was great but only if u have that type of door handle.

  • lmao

  • well at lest nobody will notice.

  • This trick is good for authorised entry of doctors or emergency services or wardens of elderly people complexes without damage to property when landlord or other resident has keys but can't get past chain. Thieves or people in emergencies would just cut chains as usual or just kick door.

Use bolts and not chains to stop people getting in without your knowledge.

  • If you want to keep people out, use good thick bolts well screwed into a solid frame with long screws, 1 or 2 at top of door, 1 or 2 at bottom of door and 1 or 2 in middle of door as well as good locks.

chains are only for checking who is there without opening door fully, but cameras are better or even a spy hole in the door.

  • fuck the 12 bore then you need to get rid of the body (you go to jail in UK for defending your home) a simple swing of a sharpe machete and chop the fuckers hand off would be better, much more painful and something for him to remember you by.

  • If he reached his hands that far he wouldn't need a rubber band don't fall for this people lol!

  • Not the most convincing of locks, to be honest! I have a chain lock and you would struggle to get your hand half way in never mind a whole arm! Then again, I only need it to let in air when cooking, but you'll never get a hand through it, maybe a little finger - part way through but then you wouldn't be able to reach the lock! It opens up just less than 2 cm!

  • IDIOTS!

how the fuck is he suposed to open the door. He needs a key, so he wouldnt be able to do this without having a key...

  • @punkerboy937

jesus. easy to find freeware program and any shitty 200 dollar mini-notebook can beat those keycard doors. As for actual key locks, not even an issue.

  • For the people who are like "OMG RAPE" at this ridiculous rubber band trick, don't Google "bump keys" because you won't be able to sleep at night.

  • trzeba zamykać drzwi na klucz, a nie tylko na łańcuszek.

  • No one seems to point out that this is the loudest shit ever. Isn't it the point to not be heard?

  • calm down people. really. if a rapist was determined there are dozens of things he can do. Frankly this one isn't one of the worst I've seen.

IN OTHER WORDS: THERE ARE WORSE THINGS TO THROW FITS ABOUT!!!

  • I have thought of a "good" situation when you need to use it.

Since we assume that when the chain is used there is some one inside.

    Bad cause: rape, kill

GOOD CAUSE: check if this old lady leaving across the hall is alright (though still could be a violation of the law in your country)

  • Or when you see hands from the back of the door, just run to the door and smash his fingers between the door :D

  • um this would only help in either raping or killing some one, since if the chains locked then your guaranteed to have some one in the room

  • lmfao he hovers his hand over the thing anyway :S... he could do it without the rubber band! wtf

  • if my ass gets raped at night, I am blaming on this...Like really dude, use common sense. Some fucking creep/rapist could find this and...aww fuck. This video should be deleted for safety reasons. This is not cool man.

  • @nicpetrykowskis why did you watch this video? Unless you are a rapist

  • what if the door knob is round ha what then

  • not very stealth.

  • Hehe, wait tell Pedo bear sees this!

  • 0:50 I lold when his hand was like looking for the rubberband, he looks so sped

  • @nicpetrykowskis Yes I am sir! I will rape you now :))

  • @nicpetrykowskis Well a lot more people would use this, not JUST a rapist!

  • If I saw someone doing this to my lock I would cut that motherfucker up so bad.

  • That guys hand look retarded as fuck.

  • An even faster way to defeat these chain locks is a swift kick to the door.

  • @riothero313 you'd probably make less noise too XD

  • @riothero313 Didn't mythbusters show that a swift kick or running into a door with a chainlock works horribly?

  • =]]

  • aleast he brang rubbers

  • @rajdts derrr ya ashol y u ned rubbr bend???????

  • When the chain is on you are typical 'in' the room. No way that banging wouldn't wake you up. Also, at my place, you will also need to figure out a way to stop the 12g shotgun being pointed at you while you 'hack' the door.

  • @rvisokey Why do it when people are there? your shotgun is only effective if you are there to use it.

This is really a demo of why not to trust that lock to protect you. Anything it seems to do is false.

  • @rvisokey Hahaha, god bless America.

  • @rvisokey I doubt you carry a shotgun with you, and I doubt you even stay in hotels. Even if you did, you'd probably shoot the maid, or let in a crook saying "I HAS A FRASH TAWALZ" in a mexican lolcat accent.

You aren't "typical"(+ly) in the room, you ARE in the room unless you jumped off the balcony or out windows that dont open. If you're in the shower, rubber-band man can be quieter than the hard water on a hollow tub surround insert in an echo chamber bathroom

  • @rvisokey

    lmao

  • @rvisokey you are a huge badas i want tobe lik you

  • @rvisokey I was thinking something very similar. But more like, you having the door slammed onto your hands, because two hands sticking through your door isn't suspicious at all.

  • @rvisokey but that's booby trapping, which will get you locked up, Especially if the person dies.

  • @rvisokey Who's going to have a shotgun in their hotel?

If the chain is locked, then someone is in there. All that person has to do is stab your arm, or force the door close on it.

  • @rvisokey The idea is that you do this if, for instance, your friend is unconscious in the room and no amount of knocking is waking them up -- and they were stupid enough to leave the damn thing closed like this.

  • @nicpetrykowskis it comes in handy if you forgot or left your key inside the house.

  • Um....if U can get your hand in that far, and can manipulate it enough to get a rubber band tied around it....then couldnt you just unlock it with your hand?

  • frankensteinmoneymac, no. use your effing head.

  • @2ndAsstJizzMopper yeah...ya see the thing about that is...I WAS...apparently you were not. Here is a video I found showing EXACTLY what I meant!!!

    /watch?v=GxL7qHthMyY

  • @2ndAsstJizzMopper Well I would suggest you use your 'effing' eyes, then....from 0:54 - 0:58 he seems to have enough slack to stick his whole arm through in a strange angle....I've got a chain on my front door, and this video made me try a little experiment. I had a friend lock it up and I tried to stick my arm in....I could BARELY squeeze my hand through, but only up to the wrist! If the chain has 'nuff slack to wrap a R.band on the chain, I'd wager U could reach in & unlock it pretty easy.

  • @frankensteinmoneymac uh no, dumbass, to be able to slide out the locking part of the chain, you have to close the door. that's what the rubber band is for.

and for a determined intruder, normal doors or locks are not a barrier. I'm a pretty average guy, 6', 190lbs and in average shape, and I once kicked in a locked apartment door. it flew open on the first attempt, ripping out the metal bracket in the wall that the locking bar goes into. that flimsy chain in the video would snap in a second.

  • @aseglkj uh yeah, dumbass, I know that is what is being done in this video.....apparently you dont understand what I was trying to say. If you saw the link I gave in one of my other replies you would see a kid unlocking a door without the need of a rubber band, or closing the door....just using his hand, because there is enough slack for him to do it.

As far as kicking in one of these doors....I have no doubt that is possible, U could also cut the chain with bolt cutters I imagine, if U wanted

  • @frankensteinmoneymac which is exactly the point i made months ago and no one seems to understand that the chain itself is sometimes too long and lets you reach your hands through the gap

  • @nicpetrykowskis well now I know how to get in to my ex-girlfriends house to i can get my TV back

  • @nicpetrykowskis In case someone in your family is a noob and locks it before you get home.

  • The point here is that the door would normally be locked AND the door has a Norwegian VingCard lock on it, which is the most secure, strong and reliable hotel lock in the world.

This is a neat technique, but most of the time the door is secured by the great hotel lock made in Moss Norway.

  • @nicpetrykowskis This is good for when my wife sets that lock, falls asleep and I come home from work and don't want to wake her.

  • somehow one of the metal ring types that just swing around the lock managed to close after we left. so physics locked us out the bloody room.

  • Wow this is cool, but useless for anyone with malicious intent. As you can see, the process is time consuming and noisy. The person whose room you're breaking into would easily hear that.

  • @nicpetrykowskis Do you have one of these door locks? Now that you've seen this, are you still happy to trust it?

  • *OUTSTANDING*! :D I love to see all this expensive security defeated by such simple things! :D Very clever! :)

    ~Cindy! :)

    ..

  • This would work in such cases but it won't work for every setup. My apt door has the sliding lock mounted very high away from the door handle. So unless you have a long rubber band... you'd still run into problems cause the handle is actually closer to the left of the lock slider. Only way into my place is to bust the sucker down! haha

  • The point of the chain is to allow you to peek around the door w/o allowing the person to barge in.

    Otherwise, use the deadbolt.

  • @milkwasabadchoice131 because in order for the chain to come out the door has to slide almost all the back to shut, the rubber band is skinny enough to fit through the crack in the door, pulling on itself to open it. im pretty sure they designed it so you cant open it with your hand.

  • @milkwasabadchoice131 u cant just slide it with ur fingers because the chain is simply not long enough when the door is open.

  • Very Stealty

  • @Magcomplex lol stealthy but yeah its just like kicking the fucking door down there going to wake up or what ever for that much noise anyway

  • @darkmetalwing

Don't get me wrong...it is a heck of a good trick..

  • you need to open the door before anyways. so there is no way to actually break in. but for some bizzare reason this actually happens to you...that pretty damn useful to know

  • Thanks this helped me alot with my ..erm hobby

  • @nicpetrykowskis You have never owned a hotel before so you may not understand but there are instances when this occurs but more so with the longer oval locks in nicer hotels.

  • @milkwasabadchoice131 The chain is just long enough so that it can be engaged only when the door is closed. Also, the point is not to be as quiet as possible, they're not trying to say you should use this to sneak into someone's room.

  • @nicpetrykowskis I guess for if you have like, the two adjoined room style hotel and the close the chain thing on yours and go out through the next room's door... for some reason. So then its just to get back in your room.

  • @milkwasabadchoice131 he cant do that cuz the door as to be closed for the chain to come off. duhhh!!! :P

  • @nicpetrykowskis Because my dear nicpetrykowskis, I am a rapist.

  • omg brilliant!

  • What if i just body slamed the door?

  • only problem with this - you still need the key card to open the door first to get at the chain. And most hotel door chains aren't long enough to get your hand inside that far and they are placed far above the door lock mechanism.

  • Nice! I hadn't thought of doing that! ...now i just might... =.=

  • i think its funny how his hand could easily reach through the door and just slide the chain unlock?

  • That could have saved me a night out in the rain once or twice, I hate paranoid room mates...lol

  • since when are the cain locks right at the door handle usually they are about 2 1/2 feet above the door handle

  • 20 secs trying to find the rubber. hahah

  • che puttanata.....

  • I made a tool that worked for it out of a coat hanger but this is WAAAAY better! Thanks

  • The best thing you can get for preventing burglaries is a racist dog.

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Education Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • note to self: get a giant dog with rabies + burglar alarm

  • Clearly, this is the method for little girls and other people with dainty little arms. Nobody else could fit their arms through the crack left by the chain, let alone all the way to the elbow. Which makes this extra dangerous: as noted, a chain on the door means someone's at home; when they hear you rattling and fumbling around, it won't be long before they simply kick the door and shatter your little birdy bones.

  • Impressive!

  • Perfect... Idiot ¬¬

  • When the chain is on someone is obviously at home. The noise would probably alert them

  • this reminds me of when i was in the dorms and my black roomate wrapped his hand around the door to lock it... and i thought it was a robber, because it was a black arm... so i ran at the door and threw my body into it... smashing his arm into oblivion

  • @KeKLENKE Hilarious!

  • Why would you still use a rubber band when already your arm is inside enough to open it from the outside? I think it's pointless LOL

  • @KamachoMan09 You can unhook a chain lock from the outside; even if your hand can fit through the opened door. Unless you brought something to cut the chain with.

  • @KamachoMan09 Because of the chain's extension limit. In order to pull it to the open slot, the door must be close to relieve it's extension point. Surely....

  • Why would you still use the rubber band when already your arm is inside enough to open it LMAO!!! so stupid

  • your hand looks ridiculous trying to get the rubber band.

  • reminds me of mcguyver

  • defeat by kicking door till screws fly out

  • @nicpetrykowskis hahaha thats right!! haha you ^&*()%g rapist

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Education Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • Shat.

  • lol so easy

  • The way the chain locks are designed you can't unlatch the chain with the door open, there just isn't enough room to slide it completely over to disengage it with your hand thru the open door. Thus, why they have the chain locks on the door in the first place, that would totaly defeat the purpose if it was that simple. Bolt cutters work nicely tho..

  • a kick should work better and faster ;)

  • @Zurdito but much louder.

  • hmm as long as they dont take me :> OHSH-

  • How is the pushbutton type done?

  • なんと

  • I could expected to use a door knob.

  • @speedracer783 you can get your hand in when the chain is on but you can't just unlatch it because it is held taught.

  • This method might be misused by a bad person.

  • @KirbyJapanese Because most people lock the chain when they leave and the desk doesn't carry a spare chain key. Meaning the actual person that rented the room might accidently do this?

  • Yabeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

  • Or you can just like, grab some bolt cutters and cut the chain in about 1/10 of the time, and attract less attention by not looking like an idiot shoving two hands through the slight opening.

  • i hope everyonw who watches this knows that its a fake....

  • shoot i didn't c that... my garage door used to have the chain to it but one day i found it ... broken ... lol someone broke in and had nerve to leave it broken.. lol

  • @staphinfection The lock doesnt allow him to pull it open when the doors open, unless his hands are detachable and can fly, if thats the case I totally agree with you.

  • Bolt cutters aren't an option if you want the breakin to be non-obvious. Of course, you now need a way to re-chain the door behind you!

  • @staphinfection becoz the chain cannot be extended to the end of the grail when its opened...

  • you just made the world %10 safer

  • Lmao.

  • @perfect1oNN or 10% less safe, now that more people know how to do this lol

  • bolt cutters Leon the professional style, game over.

  • And thats why you will never find those chain locks so close to the door handle.

  • wow you just made soo much noise there would be no point....

  • wow....... damn the theifs!
