  • It's kind-of interesting how every man, no matter his relationship with Anne, had a certain degree of respect or even fascination with her. Every man around her simply adored her (and those who did not -- Brandon, Chapuys, etc -- were just blinded by hatred and blamed her for the King's wrongdoings to Katherine d'Aragon) and she seemed to have an overwhelming effect on men. A true beauty, inside and out.

  • hello, please i looking for the song during the last confession please please thank you

  • Natalie Dormer is a great actress... I am sure we will hear much more from her

  • She had such great strength and poise. Very graceful Queen.

  • Anne was one of the best Queens of England, second only to her daughter. She was definitely the most intelligent of Henry's wives.

  • Women have come a long way.

  • I hated, HATED Anne Boleyn, but I will give her this: she died with great dignity and accepted it with strength and fortitude. I know she innocent of the charges brought against her, but I still can't forgive her for trying to make Henry order the deaths of Katherine and Mary. Plus, there is possible evidence today that she may have poisoned Queen Katherine somehow. Despite this, I commend her for her courage at the end.

  • @CatieCass She absolutely did not poison Katherine. This was something that was believed due to Katherine's blackened heart upon her "autopsy", something that today is known to be caused by cancer, not "poison". Also, it's obviously fine if you don't like the show's version of Anne Boleyn, but please remember there is a big difference between theatrics and reality. If you want to learn about the real woman, pick up The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn by Eric Ives - it's fantastic.

  • @11Juliet I just meant that it has been disputed that she had Katherine poisoned. Obviously, there's no way to tell 100% today. My dad (who's a real buff about this era) just told me that according to some books he read, it was suspected among some historians, that's all. And I've done plenty of research on Boleyn myself and liked her for her strength, but hated her for her interference in Henry's affairs (women just didn't do that back then).

  • @CatieCass That's funny, because that's exactly why I DO respect her. ;) She was such a strong woman, in any age, but especially the one she was born and raised into; you're right, women so much as having opinions was essentially unheard of - but she did. She was extremely intelligent, well-educated, brave, and opinionated, which is why Henry fell in love with her in the first place, and without women like her (who acted "above their station"), we'd still be stuck down "where we belong".

  • @CatieCass Also, that's great that you've already done some research (I always appreciate fellow history buffs :) ), but I still recommend picking up the Eric Ives biography. It is by far the most unbiased, accurate, and thorough (the author has spent literally decades at hands-on research of Anne herself and the Tudor period at large; he's actually the one who personally made several of the new discoveries that have come to light about Anne in recent years). It's absolutely fascinating.

  • @11Juliet Oh I'm sure the book is fantastic! And about Anne acting "above her station", I guess I agree with what you said, but that's part of the reason she was executed. She did interfere too much in Henry's affairs, and he HATED it when his wives would do that. That's why I think the smartest of all his wives were Katherine of Aragon and Anne of Cleves. But anyway, nice discussion! =) It's fun talking about this era with others.

  • @CatieCass I hope you realize that she had never asked Henry to do that...that was something that the writers of The Tuodrs added into the show. That has no historical basis whatsoever.

  • She died with the grace of a queen. Bless Anne! :)

  • i think anne was henry's most beautiful wife!.

  • @The2509Randomchick Yes, in the series, but don't be decieved. She was a very plain woman with black hair and black eyes. not blue eyes.

  • Anne should of dropped henry on his fat whole, taken elizabeth and run out and sing " happy days are here" she could of done so much better by herself

  • @QueenWaterLily Umm life back then wasn't a romance book. She didn't get to choose anything. Her family decided her fate, like many women back then. You would never be able to drop any King on his fat whole as you put it. There was no 'girl power' back then. The Boleyns and Seymours both pimped out their daughters. They received many t itles from the King, and would have done so even if they were his mistresses and not his wifes.

  • I don't think they could have picked a more perfect person to portray Anne... Natalie does an amazing job!

  • i wish anne had the power to make henry die so we can show him what it feels like

  • I don't think Anne deserved to be beheaded. For sakes of Karma if Henry just dumped her ass for Jane then I think we could all say she got what she deserved. But to be killed? For their child to suffer? Nope. I don't think Elizabeth should have been punished nor the four other men killed for being her "lovers" And we all know that Katherine would have never wanted this for Anne.

  • @XOXOLADIDA Do you beleive that if Katherine were alive to see this, she would fight for Anne's life? Katherine of Aragon was a blood royal- a true princess. Duty first, self second. Would she make it her duty to help poor Anne and the accusations against her?

This is after all Henry's hand stirring the pot full of "cooking queens"! Its obvious Anne was not entirely to blame for the messes being created, Surely, now Katherine would see that!

  • @NorryaParsa I would have liked to think that Katherine would've championed Anne's case but then again, she absolutely hated Anne...She called Anne the 'scandal of Christendom' and so, I don't know if Katherine would've or not...It's nice to imagine, though.

  • I hope Henry saw what a great queen Elizabeth was cos I bet Anne and him were looking down and Anne ses to him that's my girl

  • @RandyOrton4lifexx No Anne would be looking down, Henry would be looking up from hell

  • Why did she want both Cranmer and Kingston to hear her confession? She just wanted to make it very clear that she was innocent and unjustly condemned to death on fake charges, I guess? She knows Henry wants to marry Jane and her out of the way.

  • @TheStarSorceress

Because Cranmer was bound by his vow of silence as a priest and couldn't tell the world of her last confessions, but it was Kingston's job to record everything she did and say under her time in the Tower, so he could tell the world of her innocence.

  • The pain on Anne's face when she hears that Elizabeth is declared a bastard (1:06-1:12) is so heartwrenching! Its bad enough she won't get to watch her beloved daughter grow up, but then that... God, if only Henry could have seen what kind of ruler Elizabeth would become! I bet Anne watched her from heaven and said "that's my girl"

  • @TheStarSorceress Mor like Anne watched her from hell.

  • I just don't understand! All these men (Charles Brandon/Cromwell/Cranmer/etc) all knew that the charges against Anne were fake. Henry just made them up because he wanted her out of the way so he could marry Jane. Cromwell only got to his position because Anne supported him and this is how he thanks her? Why didn't any of these guys actually do the right thing and stand up to Henry! Okay, maybe not restore the marriage, but not have her killed!

  • @TheStarSorceress He was adamant about her death. Everyone was too afraid that if they stood up for her in the slightest way, the king would surely put them on the scaffold as well. It was basically every man for himself. That's why her father didn't defend his children, he just tried to defend himself & save his own life. If you look at the scene with George Boleyn, he tried the same thing "what my sister has done has nothing to do with me or mine" but alas he was executed as well...

  • @Gaskin2008

That's pathetic! And men brag about being the stronger sex. Back then, all they seemed to care about was sex and when something didn't work out, it was always the woman's fault!

  • @TheStarSorceress

In fact, it was Cromwell who made up the charges against Anne to save his own skin. It was only a matter of time before Anne would have tried to make Cromwell fall from Henry's graces and he striked first. Henry was only too happy to find a way to get rid of Anne and those accusations (which even her enemies found ridiculous) was very handy. It was also convenient to accuse her of witchcraft, because then Henry wasn't guilty of the way he treated KoA, he was bewitched! Men..

  • @creadiem1 I wouldn't want to be a wife to Henry the 8th he wasnt someone I would claim to love at all or want to be married too

  • @TheStarSorceress

They would have all been executed along with Anne.

  • She was so brave! <3 I will always admire her for that. <3

  • Long live Queen Anne!!!!!!!!

  • poor anne
