  • I remember our Irish Step Dancing teacher trying to introduce us to Moxy Fruvous and we all (11 years old) thought he was an asshole. Oh how I would love to thank him. THANKS MATT!! YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE!!

  • HAIL THE COPTER!!!!!! HAIL THE COPTER!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought I was the only one who 'got' this song... Thank you BBasiliscus. You described it PERFECTLY.

  • This is... such a beautiful song... So chilling and sweet, so grim and yet so happy in it's sorrow.

I almost cry every single time it graces my ears.

    Come back to us, Moxy.

    Godsspeed.

  • Paul S. of LRR brought me here.

  • Desert Bus!

  • I <3 Moxi Fruvous!!!!!!

  • Love, love this song. But the video is boring. Sorry.

  • @Turkeyinthehay you really thought this was the video? it's posted for your listening pleasure, doh!

  • did Moxy write this song?

  • @theonlydavepowers Yes, it's off the album 'Bargainville'

  • I'd really love to find the live version of this that came out on the pre-Bargainville cassette tape, before they were popular enough to make a CD. It was the first version that I heard and the first time I heard this version (Bargainville) it seemed inferior. It's been 15 years since I heard that version so this one has, of course, grown on me as the best version available to me. I'm not really a fan of the Live Noise version. An amazing song and dripping with the author's emotion LOVE IT!

  • Gah Olivia, curse you for getting this brilliant song stuck in my head!

  • @KarmaIsMyAlterEgo Goo RB xD

  • @KarmaIsMyAlterEgo This is why it's my favourite song, it always reminds me of my first Mardi Gras :)

  • "A Man Cannot rest untill he's finally beaten his me"

    This is so true!

  • If this song doesn't make you cry, even just alittle, then you are made of stone and I feel sorry for you!

  • The best fruvous song.. I drove all over Newfoundland with my father to these songs... this made me cry.... really not cool. God. Love my old man.

I thought the lyric was- "my senses FINELY blurred"

  • @squishy2302 There was a video with the Live Noise version on here about 6 months ago, but it's been taken down since :(

  • This and "The Gulf War Song" are the best Moxy Fruvous songs, so much meaning out of a song. Anyone I know that die's by alcohol, I'll make sure that this song is sung.

  • Every time I lose a friend to alcoholism (and there have been a few) I think of this song. Nearly hometown bards, Here's a glass to Moxy Fruvous. RIP, old friends.

  • @123yyz123 Here's to old friends waiting for us in the almighty.

May you be half an hour in Heaven

Before the Devil knows you’re dead.

  • Great Song! Brings back so many memories. Does anyone know the chord progression?

  • @GoJamesBrownChannel search drinking song moxy fruvous on ultimate-guitar.

  • " We opened the window, played some Nintendo. Sang a few bars of some pretty old song." Best song ever

  • we sang this song at a friend of mines memorial at his request. he had had it all planned out that when he died he wanted this song sung. he died after having fun at a club, he'd been drinking that night. though i don't think he was drunk when he drove home. i miss him so much, it has been 4 years since his passing.

  • many thanks!

  • Great stuff.

  • by any chance can i get a copy of this :)?

  • They sang this live at a show I was at many many moons ago, was'nt a dry eye in the place by the end of the song

  • keysers0z3, this song is about the guy and his friend drinking. He couldn't deny his friend a drink, so they both drank and had fun times. They got so drunk they were "standing up, falling down", and waged a campaign against themselves armed with alcohol. Ultimately, his friend passed out from alcohol poisoning and the singer couldn't help him because he was so drunk himself. The ambulance came but it was too late, his friend was already dead. The singer never drank again.

  • Aye!

  • reminds me of all of the goodtimes ive had thank you

  • October 6th, 1999. I took a nice girl to their concert for her 19th birthday at our campus bar. She listened to them a lot in high school. I bought one of the band a double scotch and they sang her happy birthday.

Some of the best times of my life. This is a beautiful song and it means a lot to me.

  • This song makes me think of freshmen year of college. Such great lyrics and melody. Thank God I've never lost anyone to alcohol, but still makes me think of people I've lost to various other aspects of life.

  • Id like to hear other peoples interpretation of this amazing song. What is the song about?

  • keysers0z3: "What is the song about?"

    Drinking. Heavily.

  • @keysers0z3 Its about a guy who's friend drank himself to death and he was too drunk to save him.

  • me and my buddy used to listen to this song. and sadly, ironically and unbelievably he hit a tree head on coming home from a party. he was 17. RIP tyler

  • I will always Love Endrene'
