Great video! I own a PK 380 it's an awesome little pistol, this nine looks nice here..my only critique with the pk380 is I wish this system had a bigger mag capacity and a lanyard slot on the grip, my pk380 is loved by my woman, she can chamber the slide easily, and that's why I believe its the best for women for self defense! It looks intimidating ,,actually looks like a Nine and easy easy to camber. lanyard would be good for outdoor survival situations and marine ops. (U.S Army Medic Vet.)
I own the same model. Has been 100% reliable. I've had a few of the popular single-stack 9mm's; Sig P239, H&K P7(still own 2), S&W 3913, Kahr PM9, but the Walther is my favorite. Small-handed women should check these out. Slim gripped.
No problem staying on steel at 50yds. Same at 100 if you put a little time into the shots. Trigger feel is very Glock-like(I carry either a G26 or G36).
Kinda spendy but I'm buying another next time I'm home in 2 weeks. I always buy good things in pairs. :)
I am considering purchasing either the pps or the taurus 709 slim. Having reviewed both of the pistols are there any features you feel make the pps worth the additional money when compared to the 709 ?
I am considering this and a PK380 for my first CCW gun. I am a small built person (5' 6" and 125 lbs) and have finally come to the realization that I can't carry a full size 1911 around all day. I am opening up to the idea of the .380 and 9mm, but I don't know which would be the better choice for ease of carry and firepower. I have some experience with a colt mustang and a commander sized 1911 in .45, and the size difference is my only reason for considering the lesser cartridge.
The 9mm does a good job, but if you really want 45 power in a small package, search the internet for a Star PD, if you shoot right-handed. hard to find, but worth the trouble.
I'd go with a 9mm as my primary because the ammo is, more powerful, easy to find and cheaper VS .380 I carry a SIG P238 (sweet .380 in 1911 form) as my BUG. Looking at the PPS myself, I find my XD9sc a little thick for warm weather carry (I'm only 5'4"). I would go to a gun shop and "try" the gun to see how well it carry's with "light clothing" and if possible shoot it. I didn't do this with my XD ( I shot it but didn't check how it carried) and now looking to retire it to nightstand duty.
@LoboLoco8908 just keep in mind .380 is generally not a 1 shot man stopper, but with good Hydra-Shock/Hollow-Point it can get the job done..if you ever have to pull a .380 for self defense my best advise would be to pump 4-6 rounds into your attacker! Especially if there on drugs. I studied ballistics in the Army and have a great knowledge of kinetic energy delivery with most ammo, also I was a medic/EMT and have seen first hand the effects of different rounds on mortality victims.
@m44freedom Thanks, I've since gone with the PPS in 9mm and I am very pleased with it. The recoil is a bit beefy, but I expected as much seeing as the gun has so little mass. My knowledge of ballistics comes from my physics courses (engineering student), so I am lacking in experiential knowledge. I've come to understand that there are no 1 shot stoppers in handgun platforms, and shot placement is where I'll put my money if it comes down to it.
@LoboLoco8908 Outstanding.one favorite technique of assassins is to shoot their mark in the SIDE of the head, any small round caliber will do 100 percent fatal .22/.25/38/380 etc.subsonic suppressed and just subsonic especially with .22s,once a bullet crosses the MID-LINE of the brain passing through both spheres=100 percent mortality first shot. I'm not advocating assassin mission's, my point is with smaller caliber head shots are the ticket for a 1 stop. Quality Weapons+Training=Zeroed Mission
i like how you pull the trigger and make the shooting quick and to the point, unlike other gun videos where they shoot one round and wait forever to shoot the next shot
Hey Jeff, I saw you tested Buffalo Bore +P+ in the Walther. Do you think its strong enough to carry it for defense? It won't hurt the gun? (Obviously not to be used regularly)
I just bought the PPS. Nice gun. I was wondering if you have done a review or shot a Springfield EMP in 9mm yet? I love .45s but want a controllable small gun for carry. thanks mike
i have a very dear friend who is a gun fan- P-228 and 1911 45. However, she has a rare life endangering illness- how does racking the slide compare to a colt mustang? She can handle mine and willing to transfer it to her-PPS might be a better option though- plz let me know-THX!!!!
i got one in 40s&w with like a blue frame paid 200 for it from a guy,its legit havent shot it but i had a gunsmith check and its good.i wana trade it for an all black 9mm pps cuz i cant find 40s&w ammo anywhere im gonna take it to the gun show and see what i can find, that includes ammo if i see 40s&w ammo im gonna grab 2 tons of it and keep the gun.i know i got a steal so no need to tell me haha now if i can get a glock for 100 im cool lol

Good gun. Avoid the .40S&W version of this though, has some reliability issues.

why do you shoot every gun you review as quickly as you possibly can?

I do so to demonstrate how controllable the weapon is, and how quickly one can get back on target after the shot.

Debating on buying one in 9mm. I dont particularly like 9mm but for more capacity in the mag I think Ill make an acception this time.
